Psalm 101

1 Von Barmherzigkeit und Recht will ich singen, will Dir, Jehovah, Psalmen singen.

A Psalm of David. I will sing of mercy and judgment: to thee, O LORD, will I sing.

2 Ich will den Rechtschaffenen unterweisen im Wege. Wann kommst Du zu mir? Ich will wandeln in Rechtschaffenheit meines Herzens inmitten meines Hauses.

I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come to me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

3 Ich will kein Wort Belials vor meine Augen stellen. Das Tun der Abtrünnigen hasse ich. Nicht soll es mir anhangen.

I will set no wicked thing before my eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

4 Ein verdrehtes Herz weiche weg von mir. Von Bösem will ich nichts wissen.

A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked [person].

5 Wer seinem Genossen im Verborgenen nachredet, den vertilge ich; den, der hochmütig von Augen und weit von Herzen ist, vermag ich nicht zu ertragen!

Whoever privily slandereth his neighbor, him will I cut off: him that hath a high look and a proud heart I will not suffer.

6 Meine Augen sind auf den Treuen des Landes, daß sie bei mir sitzen; wer auf rechtschaffenem Weg geht, soll mein Diener sein.

My eyes [shall be] upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.

7 Nicht soll sitzen inmitten meines Hauses, wer Trug tut; wer Lügen redet, soll nicht gefestigt werden vor meinen Augen.

He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.

8 Am Morgen vertilge ich alle Ungerechten des Landes, daß ich ausrotte alle, die Unrecht tun, aus Jehovahs Stadt.

I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all who practice wickedness from the city of the LORD.
