4 Mose 14
1 Und es erhob sich die ganze Gemeinde, und sie ließen hören ihre Stimme, und es weinte das Volk in dieser Nacht.
Then all ye Congregation lifted vp their voice, and cryed: and the people wept that night,
2 Und es murrten wider Mose und wider Aharon alle Söhne Israels, und die ganze Gemeinde sprach zu ihnen: Wären wir doch im Land Ägypten gestorben, oder stürben wir doch in der Wüste da!
And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron: and the whole assemblie said vnto them, Would God we had died in the land of Egypt, or in this wildernesse: would God we were dead.
3 Und warum bringt uns Jehovah in dieses Land hinein, daß wir durch das Schwert fallen, unsere Weiber und Kindlein zum Raube werden? Wäre es nicht besser für uns, wir kehrten nach Ägypten zurück?
Wherefore nowe hath the Lord brought vs into this lande to fall vpon the sworde? our wiues, and our children shall be a pray: were it not better for vs to returne into Egypt?
4 Und der eine sprach zu seinem Bruder: Lasset uns ein Haupt setzen und zurückkehren nach Ägypten!
And they said one to another, Let vs make a Captaine and returne into Egypt.
5 Und Mose und Aharon fielen auf ihr Angesicht vor der ganzen Versammlung der Gemeinde der Söhne Israels.
Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assemblie of the Congregation of the children of Israel.
6 Und Joschua, der Sohn Nuns, und Kaleb, der Sohn Jephunnehs, von denen, die das Land ausgespäht, zerrissen ihre Kleider,
And Ioshua the sonne of Nun, and Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh two of them that searched the lande, rent their clothes,
7 Und sprachen zur ganzen Gemeinde der Söhne Israels und sagten: Das Land, das wir durchzogen, es auszuspähen, ist ein sehr, sehr gutes Land.
And spake vnto all the assemblie of the childre of Israel, saying, The land which we walked through to search it, is a very good lande.
8 Wenn Jehovah Lust an uns hat, so wird Er uns in dieses Land hineinbringen und es uns geben, ein Land, das von Milch und Honig fließt.
If the Lord loue vs, he will bring vs into this land, and giue it vs, which is a land that floweth with milke and honie.
9 Nur empört euch nicht gegen Jehovah, dann dürfet ihr euch vor dem Volke des Landes nicht fürchten; denn unser Brot sind sie. Gewichen ist ihr Schatten von ihnen; und Jehovah ist mit uns, fürchtet sie nicht!
But rebell not ye against the Lord, neither feare ye the people of the land: for they are but bread for vs: their shielde is departed from the, and the Lord is with vs, feare them not.
10 Und es sprach die ganze Gemeinde, man solle sie mit Steinen steinigen. Und es erschien die Herrlichkeit Jehovahs in dem Versammlungszelt all den Söhnen Israels.
And all the multitude saide, Stone them with stones: but the glory of the Lord appeared in the Tabernacle of the Congregation, before all the children of Israel.
11 Und Jehovah sprach zu Mose: Wie lange will Mich dieses Volk lästern, und wie lange wollen sie nicht an Mich glauben bei all den Zeichen, die Ich in ihrer Mitte getan?
And the Lord said vnto Moses, How long will this people prouoke me, and howe long will it be, yer they beleeue me, for al the signes which I haue shewed among them?
12 Ich will es schlagen mit Pestilenz und es hinaustreiben, will aber dich zu einer Völkerschaft machen, größer und mächtiger denn sie.
I will smite them with the pestilence and destroy them, and will make thee a greater nation and mightier then they.
13 Und Mose sprach zu Jehovah: Aber hören werden es die Ägypter, aus deren Mitte Du dies Volk mit Deiner Kraft heraufgeführt,
But Moses saide vnto the Lord, When the Egyptians shall heare it, (for thou broughtest this people by thy power from among them)
14 Und werden dem Einwohner dieses Landes sagen, welche hörten, daß Du, Jehovah, inmitten dieses Volkes bist, dem Du, Jehovah, Auge in Auge erschienst, und über dem Deine Wolke stand, und vor dem Du in der Wolkensäule gingst bei Tag, und in der Nacht in der Feuersäule,
Then they shall say to the inhabitants of this land, (for they haue heard that thou, Lord, art among this people, and that thou, Lord, art seene face to face, and that thy cloude standeth ouer them, and that thou goest before them by day time in a pillar of a cloude, and in a pillar of fire by night)
15 Und der Du dieses Volk wie einen Mann getötet hast - sagen werden die Völkerschaften, die dieses Gerücht von Dir hören, und sprechen:
That thou wilt kill this people as one man: so the heathen which haue heard the fame of thee, shall thus say,
16 Weil Jehovah nicht vermochte, dies Volk hineinzubringen in das Land, das Er ihm geschworen, da hat Er sie in der Wüste hingeschlachtet.
Because the Lord was not able to bring this people into the lande, which he sware vnto them, therefore hath he slaine them in the wildernesse.
17 Und nun laß doch Deine Kraft groß werden, o Herr, wie Du geredet hast und gesprochen:
And now, I beseech thee, let the power of my Lord be great, according as thou hast spoken, saying,
18 Jehovah ist langmütig und von großer Barmherzigkeit, der Missetat und Übertretung verzeiht, aber nicht ungestraft läßt, der heimsucht der Väter Missetat an den Söhnen ins dritte und vierte Glied;
The Lord is slowe to anger, and of great mercie, and forgiuing iniquitie, and sinne, but not making the wicked innocent, and visiting the wickednes of the fathers vpon the children, in the thirde and fourth generation:
19 Vergib doch der Missetat dieses Volkes nach Deiner großen Barmherzigkeit, wie Du auch verziehen hast diesem Volk von Ägypten an bis hierher.
Be mercifull, I beseech thee, vnto the iniquitie of this people, according to thy great mercie, and as thou hast forgiuen this people from Egypt, euen vntill nowe.
20 Und Jehovah sprach: Ich habe vergeben nach deinem Wort.
And the Lord said, I haue forgiuen it, according to thy request.
21 Und doch - Ich lebe, und die ganze Erde soll voll sein der Herrlichkeit Jehovahs -
Notwithstanding, as I liue, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord.
22 Denn alle diese Männer, die Meine Herrlichkeit und Meine Zeichen, die Ich in Ägypten und in der Wüste tat, gesehen, und nun diese zehnmal Mich versucht und nicht auf Meine Stimme gehört,
For all those men which haue seene my glory, and my miracles which I did in Egypt, and in the wildernes, and haue tempted me this ten times, and haue not obeyed my voyce,
23 Sollen nimmermehr das Land sehen, das ihren Vätern Ich zugeschworen habe, und alle, die Mich gelästert haben, sollen es nicht sehen!
Certainely they shall not see the lande, whereof I sware vnto their fathers: neither shall any that prouoke me, see it.
24 Aber Meinen Knecht Kaleb will Ich, da ein anderer Geist in ihm war, und er Mir völlig nachgefolgt ist, in das Land hineinbringen, in das er gekommen war, und sein Same soll es erblich besitzen.
But my seruant Caleb, because he had another spirite, and hath followed me stil, euen him will I bring into the lande, whither he went, and his seede shall inherite it.
25 Und der Amalekiter und der Kanaaniter wohnt im Talgrunde. Wendet euch morgen und brechet ihr nach der Wüste auf, auf den Weg dem Schilfmeer zu.
Nowe the Amalekites and the Canaanites remaine in the valley: wherefore turne backe to morowe, and get you into the wildernesse, by the way of the red Sea.
26 Und Jehovah redete zu Mose und zu Aharon und sprach:
After, the Lord spake vnto Moses and to Aaron, saying,
27 Wie lange ist es noch mit dieser bösen Gemeinde, daß sie wider Mich murren? Das Murren der Söhne Israels, das sie wider Mich gemurrt, habe Ich gehört.
How long shall I suffer this wicked multitude to murmure against me? I haue heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmure against me.
28 Sage ihnen: Ich lebe, spricht Jehovah, und will nach dem, was ihr vor Meinen Ohren geredet habt, also euch tun.
Tell them, As I liue (saith the Lord) I wil surely do vnto you, euen as ye haue spoken in mine eares.
29 In dieser Wüste sollen fallen eure Leichen, und alle, die gemustert worden unter euch, nach eurer ganzen Zahl, von zwanzig Jahren und darüber, die ihr wider Mich gemurrt.
Your carkeises shall fall in this wildernes, and all you that were counted through all your nombers, from twentie yeere olde and aboue, which haue murmured against me,
30 Ihr sollt nicht hineinkommen in das Land, in dem Ich Meine Hand erhoben, euch wohnen zu lassen, außer Kaleb, Jephunnehs Sohn, und Jehoschuah, der Sohn des Nun.
Ye shall not doubtles come into the land, for the which I lifted vp mine hande, to make you dwell therein, saue Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh, and Ioshua the sonne of Nun.
31 Eure Kindlein aber, von denen ihr gesagt, daß sie zum Raube würden, sie will Ich hineinbringen; und sie sollen kennen das Land, das ihr verschmäht habt.
But your children, (which ye said shoulde be a pray) them will I bring in, and they shall knowe the lande which ye haue refused:
32 Und eure Leichen sollen in dieser Wüste fallen.
But euen your carkeises shall fall in this wildernes,
33 Und eure Söhne sollen in der Wüste weiden vierzig Jahre und eure Buhlerei tragen, bis daß eure Leichen in der Wüste alle sind.
And your children shall wander in the wildernesse, fourtie yeeres, and shall beare your whoredomes, vntill your carkeises be wasted in the wildernesse.
34 Nach der Zahl der Tage, die ihr das Land ausgespäht habt, vierzig Tage, sollt ihr ein Jahr für einen Tag und ein Jahr für einen Tag eure Missetaten tragen, vierzig Jahre, und wissen Meine Abwendung.
After the number of the dayes, in the which ye searched out the lande, euen fourtie dayes, euery day for a yeere, shall ye beare your iniquity, for fourtie yeeres, and ye shall feele my breach of promise.
35 Ich, Jehovah, habe es geredet: So werde Ich dieser ganzen bösen Gemeinde tun, die sich wider Mich zusammengetan hat. In dieser Wüste sollen sie alle werden und hier sterben.
I the Lord haue said, Certainely I will doe so to all this wicked company, that are gathered together against me: for in this wildernesse they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.
36 Und die Männer, die Mose gesandt, das Land auszuspähen, und die zurückkehrten und die ganze Gemeinde wider ihn murren machten und ein Gerede über das Land ausbrachten:
And the men which Moses had sent to search the land (which, when they came againe, made all the people to murmure against him, and brought vp a slander vpon the lande)
37 Die Männer, die das böse Gerede ausbrachten, starben vor Jehovah durch die Plage.
Euen those men that did bring vp that vile slander vpon the land, shall die by a plague before the Lord.
38 Jehoschuah aber, der Sohn Nuns, und Kaleb, Jephunnehs Sohn, blieben am Leben von diesen Männern, die gegangen, das Land auszuspähen.
But Ioshua the sonne of Nun, and Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh, of those men that went to search the land, shall liue.
39 Und Mose redete diese Worte zu allen Söhnen Israels. Und es trauerte das Volk sehr;
Then Moses tolde these sayings vnto all the children of Israel, and the people sorowed greatly.
40 Und sie standen am frühen Morgen auf und zogen hinauf auf die Spitze des Berges und sprachen: Siehe uns hier, daß wir hinaufziehen nach dem Orte, von dem Jehovah gesprochen; denn wir haben gesündigt.
And they rose vp earely in the morning, and gate them vp into the toppe of the mountaine, saying, Loe, we be readie, to goe vp to the place which the Lord hath promised: for wee haue sinned.
41 Und Mose sprach: Warum überschreitet ihr so den Befehl Jehovahs. Es wird euch nicht gelingen.
But Moses said, Wherefore transgresse yee thus the commandement of the Lord? it will not so come well to passe.
42 Zieht nicht hinauf; denn Jehovah ist nicht in eurer Mitte, auf daß ihr nicht geschlagen werdet vor euren Feinden.
Goe not vp (for the Lord is not among you) lest ye be ouerthrowe before your enemies.
43 Denn der Amalekiter und der Kanaaniter sind vor euch daselbst, und ihr werdet fallen durch das Schwert, darum, daß ihr euch von Jehovah zurückgewendet habt, und Jehovah nicht mit euch ist.
For the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and ye shall fall by the sworde: for in as much as ye are turned away from the Lord, the Lord also will not be with you.
44 Sie aber waren aufgetrieben, und wollten auf die Spitze des Gebirges ziehen; die Bundeslade Jehovahs aber und Mose wichen nicht aus der Mitte des Lagers.
Yet they presumed obstinately to goe vp to the top of the mountaine: but the Arke of the couenant of the Lord, and Moses departed not out of the campe.
45 Und der Amalekiter und der Kanaaniter, der auf diesem Gebirge wohnt, kamen herab und schlugen sie und zerstießen sie bis gen Chormah.
Then the Amalekites and the Canaanites, which dwelt in that mountaine, came downe and smote them, and consumed them vnto Hormah.
