4 Mose 1

1 Und Jehovah redete zu Mose in der Wüste Sinai im Versammlungszelt am ersten des zweiten Monats im zweiten Jahre nach ihrem Auszug aus Ägyptenland, und Er sprach:

On the first day of the second month of the second year after the Israelites had come out of the land of Egypt, the LORD spoke to Moses in the Tent of Meeting in the Wilderness of Sinai. He said:

2 Nehmet auf die Kopfzahl der ganzen Gemeinde der Söhne Israels nach ihren Familien, nach ihrer Väter Häusern nach der Zahl der Namen aller Männlichen nach ihren Köpfen,

“Take a census of the whole congregation of Israel by their clans and families, listing every man by name, one by one.

3 Vom Sohne von zwanzig Jahren und darüber, alle, die im Heer ausziehen in Israel. Mustert sie, du und Aharon, nach ihren Heeren.

You and Aaron are to number those who are twenty years of age or older by their divisions—everyone who can serve in Israel’s army.

4 Und mit euch sei je ein Mann aus dem Stamme, der Mann, der das Haupt des Hauses seiner Väter ist.

And one man from each tribe, the head of each family, must be there with you.

5 Und dies sind die Namen der Männer, die bei euch stehen sollen: Von Ruben Elizur, Schedeurs Sohn.

These are the names of the men who are to assist you: From the tribe of Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur;

6 Von Simeon: Schelumiel, der Sohn Zurischaddais;

from Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai;

7 Von Judah: Nachschon, der Sohn Amminadabs;

from Judah, Nahshon son of Amminadab;

8 Von Issaschar: Nathaneel, der Sohn Zuars;

from Issachar, Nethanel son of Zuar;

9 Von Sebulun: Eliab, Chelons Sohn;

from Zebulun, Eliab son of Helon;

10 Von den Söhnen Josephs für Ephraim: Elischama, der Sohn Ammihuds; für Menascheh: Gamliel, der Sohn Pedahzurs;

from the sons of Joseph: from Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud, and from Manasseh, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur;

11 Von Benjamin: Abidan, Sohn Gideonis;

from Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni;

12 Von Dan: Achieser, der Sohn Ammischaddais;

from Dan, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai;

13 Von Ascher: Pagiel, der Sohn Ochrans.

from Asher, Pagiel son of Ocran;

14 Von Gad: Eljasaph, der Sohn Deguels.

from Gad, Eliasaph son of Deuel;

15 Von Naphthali: Achira, Enans Sohn.

and from Naphtali, Ahira son of Enan.”

16 Das sind die aus der Gemeinde Berufenen, die Fürsten der Stämme ihrer Väter, die Häupter der Tausende Israels sind sie.

These men were appointed from the congregation; they were the leaders of the tribes of their fathers, the heads of the clans of Israel.

17 Und Mose und Aharon nahmen diese Männer, die mit Namen benannt sind,

So Moses and Aaron took these men who had been designated by name,

18 Und versammelten am ersten des zweiten Monats die ganze Gemeinde, und sie ließen sich nach ihren Familien, nach den Häusern ihrer Väter, der Zahl der Namen und nach den Köpfen von dem zwanzigsten Jahr an und darüber in die Geburtslisten eintragen,

and on the first day of the second month they assembled the whole congregation and recorded their ancestry by clans and families, counting one by one the names of those twenty years of age or older,

19 Wie Jehovah dem Mose geboten hatte; und er musterte sie in der Wüste Sinai.

just as the LORD had commanded Moses. So Moses numbered them in the Wilderness of Sinai:

20 Und es waren die Söhne Rubens, des Erstgeborenen Israels, ihre Geburten nach ihren Familien den Häusern ihrer Väter, nach der Zahl ihrer Namen nach ihren Köpfen, alles Männliche von zwanzig Jahren und aufwärts, alle, die im Heer auszogen.

From the sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel, according to the records of their clans and families, counting one by one the names of every male twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

21 Ihre Gemusterten vom Stamme Ruben sechsundvierzigtausendfünfhundert.

those registered to the tribe of Reuben numbered 46,500.

22 Für die Söhne Simeons: ihre Geburten nach ihren Familien, nach den Häusern ihrer Väter, ihre Gemusterten nach der Zahl der Namen, nach ihren Köpfen, alle Männlichen von zwanzig Jahren und aufwärts, alle, die im Heer auszogen,

From the sons of Simeon, according to the records of their clans and families, counting one by one the names of every male twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

23 Ihre Gemusterten vom Stamme Simeons neunundfünfzigtausenddreihundert.

those registered to the tribe of Simeon numbered 59,300.

24 Für die Söhne Gads: ihre Geburten nach ihren Familien, nach dem Haus ihrer Väter, in der Zahl von Namen, vom zwanzigsten Jahre und aufwärts, alle, die im Heer auszogen,

From the sons of Gad, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

25 Ihre Gemusterten vom Stamme Gad fünfundvierzigtausendsechshundertfünfzig.

those registered to the tribe of Gad numbered 45,650.

26 Für die Söhne Judahs: ihre Geburten nach ihren Familien, nach dem Haus ihrer Väter, in der Zahl von Namen vom zwanzigsten Jahr und aufwärts, alle im Heere ausziehend,

From the sons of Judah, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

27 Ihre Gemusterten nach dem Stamm Judah vierundsiebzigtausendsechshundert.

those registered to the tribe of Judah numbered 74,600.

28 Für die Söhne Issaschars: ihre Geburten nach ihren Familien, nach dem Haus ihrer Väter, in der Zahl der Namen vom zwanzigsten Jahre an und aufwärts, alle, die im Heere ausziehen,

29 Ihre Gemusterten nach dem Stamme Issaschar waren vierundfünfzigtausendvierhundert.

And from the sons of Manasseh, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

35 Ihre Gemusterten für den Stamm Menascheh zweiunddreißigtausendzweihundert.

those registered to the tribe of Manasseh numbered 32,200.

36 Für die Söhne Benjamins: ihre Geburten nach ihren Familien, nach dem Haus ihrer Väter, in der Zahl der Namen vom zwanzigsten Jahr und aufwärts, alle, die im Heer ausziehen,

From the sons of Benjamin, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

37 Ihre Gemusterten für den Stamm Benjamin fünfunddreißigtausendvierhundert.

those registered to the tribe of Benjamin numbered 35,400.

38 Für die Söhne Dans: ihre Geburten nach ihren Familien, nach dem Haus ihrer Väter, in der Zahl der Namen vom zwanzigsten Jahr und darüber, alle, die im Heere ausziehen,

From the sons of Dan, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

39 Ihre Gemusterten für den Stamm Dan zweiundsechzigtausendsiebenhundert.

those registered to the tribe of Dan numbered 62,700.

40 Für die Söhne Aschers: ihre Geburten nach ihren Familien, nach dem Haus ihrer Väter, in der Zahl der Namen vom zwanzigsten Jahr und darüber, alle, die im Heer ausziehen,

From the sons of Asher, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

41 Ihre Gemusterten für den Stamm Ascher einundvierzigtausendfünfhundert.

those registered to the tribe of Asher numbered 41,500.

42 Für die Söhne Naphthalis: ihre Geburten nach ihren Familien, nach dem Haus ihrer Väter, in der Zahl der Namen vom zwanzigsten Jahr und darüber, alle, die im Heer ausziehen,

From the sons of Naphtali, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,

43 Ihre Gemusterten für den Stamm Naphthali dreiundfünfzigtausendvierhundert.

those registered to the tribe of Naphtali numbered 53,400.

44 Das sind die Gemusterten, die Mose und Aharon und die Fürsten Israels musterten, zwölf Männer, ein Mann für das Haus seiner Väter waren es.

These were the men numbered by Moses and Aaron, with the assistance of the twelve leaders of Israel, each one representing his family.

45 Und es waren aller Gemusterten der Söhne Israels nach dem Haus ihrer Väter vom zwanzigsten Jahr und darüber, alle, die im Heer ausziehen in Israel,

So all the Israelites twenty years of age or older who could serve in Israel’s army were counted according to their families.

46 Und aller Gemusterten waren sechshunderttausend und dreitausendfünfhundert- fünfzig.

And all those counted totaled 603,550.

47 Und die Leviten nach ihrer Väter Stamm wurden nicht in ihrer Mitte gemustert.

The Levites, however, were not numbered along with them by the tribe of their fathers.

48 Und Jehovah redete zu Mose und sprach:

For the LORD had said to Moses:

49 Nur den Stamm Levi sollst du nicht mustern und ihre Kopfzahl nicht aufnehmen inmitten der Söhne Israels;

“Do not number the tribe of Levi in the census with the other Israelites.

50 Und du sollst die Leviten mustern über die Wohnung des Zeugnisses und über all deren Geräte und über alles, was zu ihr gehört. Sie sollen die Wohnung tragen und all ihre Geräte, und Dienst bei ihr tun, und rings um die Wohnung sich lagern.

Instead, you are to appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the Testimony, all its furnishings, and everything in it. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its articles, care for it, and camp around it.

51 Und wenn die Wohnung aufbricht, sollen die Leviten sie abnehmen, und wenn die Wohnung sich lagert, sollen die Leviten sie aufrichten, und der Fremde, der nahet, soll sterben.

Whenever the tabernacle is to move, the Levites are to take it down, and whenever it is to be pitched, the Levites are to set it up. Any outsider who goes near it must be put to death.

52 Und die Söhne Israels sollen sich lagern, jeder Mann bei seinem Lager und jeder Mann bei seinem Banner nach ihren Heerscharen;

The Israelites are to camp by their divisions, each man in his own camp and under his own standard.

53 Und die Leviten sollen rings um die Wohnung des Zeugnisses lagern, auf daß keine Entrüstung sei über die Gemeinde der Söhne Israels, und die Leviten sollen die Hut der Wohnung des Zeugnisses halten.

But the Levites are to camp around the tabernacle of the Testimony and watch over it, so that no wrath will fall on the congregation of Israel. So the Levites are responsible for the tabernacle of the Testimony.”

54 Und die Söhne Israels taten nach allem, was Jehovah dem Mose geboten hatte; also taten sie.

Thus the Israelites did everything just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
