Matthaeus 5
1 Als Er aber das Gedränge sah, stieg Er auf den Berg, und als Er Sich niedersetzte, kamen Seine Jünger herzu zu Ihm.
And seeing the crowds, he went up onto the mountain, and when he had sat down, his disciples came to him.
2 Und Er tat Seinen Mund auf, lehrte sie und sprach:
Then he opened his mouth and taught them, saying,
3 Selig sind, die im Geiste arm sind, denn das Reich der Himmel ist ihr.
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Selig sind, die da Leid tragen, denn sie sollen getröstet werden.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
5 Selig sind die Sanftmütigen, denn sie werden das Land ererben.
Blessed are the gentle, for they will inherit the earth.
6 Selig sind, die da hungert und dürstet nach Gerechtigkeit, denn sie sollen satt werden.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they will be filled.
7 Selig sind die Barmherzigen, denn sie werden Barmherzigkeit erlangen.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will obtain mercy.
8 Selig sind, die reinen Herzens sind, denn sie werden Gott schauen.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
9 Selig sind die Friedensstifter, denn sie werden Gottes Söhne heißen.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God.
10 Selig sind, die um Gerechtigkeit willen verfolgt werden, denn das Reich der Himmel ist ihr.
Blessed are those who have been persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Selig seid ihr, wenn sie euch schelten und verfolgen und reden allerlei Übles wider euch um Meinetwillen, so sie daran lügen.
"Blessed are you when they insult you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Freuet euch und frohlocket, denn viel ist eures Lohns in den Himmeln; denn also verfolgten sie die Propheten, die vor euch gewesen.
Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
13 Ihr seid das Salz der Erde; so aber das Salz fade wird, womit soll man salzen? Es ist zu nichts mehr nütze, als daß man es hinausirft, und es von den Menschen niedergetreten wird.
"You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its flavor, with what will it be salted? It is then good for nothing, but to be cast out and trampled under people's feet.
14 Ihr seid das Licht der Welt. Eine Stadt, die auf dem Berge liegt, kann nicht verborgen sein.
You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill cannot be hidden.
15 Noch zündet man eine Kerze an und setzt sie unter einen Scheffel, sondern auf einen Leuchter, und sie leuchtet allen, die im Hause sind.
Neither do you light a lamp, and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house.
16 Also lasset euer Licht leuchten vor den Menschen, daß sie eure guten Werke sehen und euren Vater in den Himmeln verherrlichen.
In the same way, let your light shine before people, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
17 Denket nicht, daß Ich gekommen sei, das Gesetz oder die Propheten aufzulösen; Ich bin nicht gekommen aufzulösen, sondern zu erfüllen.
"Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy, but to fulfill.
18 Denn wahrlich sage Ich euch: Bis daß Himmel und Erde vergehen, soll kein Jod noch ein Strichlein vom Gesetz vergehen, bis daß alles geschehe.
For truly, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or part of a letter will disappear from the Law, until all things are accomplished.
19 Wer nun eins dieser kleinsten Gebote löset, und lehret die Menschen also, wird der Kleinste heißen im Reiche der Himmel; wer aber tut und lehrt, der wird groß heißen im Reiche der Himmel.
Therefore, whoever will break one of these least commandments, and teach others to do so, will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever will do and teach them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 Denn Ich sage euch: Es sei denn, daß eure Gerechtigkeit weit übertreffe die der Schriftgelehrten und Pharisäer, so werdet ihr nicht in das Reich der Himmel eingehen.
For I tell you that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, there is no way you will enter into the kingdom of heaven.
21 Ihr habt gehört, daß zu den Alten gesagt ist: Du sollst nicht morden; wer aber mordet, der soll dem Gericht verfallen sein.
"You have heard that it was said to the ancient ones, 'Do not murder;' and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.
22 Ich aber sage euch: Wer seinem Bruder zürnt, ist dem Gericht verfallen; wer aber zu seinem Bruder sagt: Raka, der verfällt dem Rat; wer aber sagt: Du Narr, der verfällt der Hölle des Feuers. (Geenna g1067)
But I tell you, that everyone who is angry with his brother without a cause will be liable to judgment; and whoever will say to his brother, 'Raqa,' will be in danger of the council; and whoever will say, 'You fool,' will be in danger of the fire of Gihana. (Geenna g1067)
23 Wenn du denn deine Gabe auf dem Altar darbringst, und allda gedenkst, daß dein Bruder etwas wider dich hat,
"If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you,
24 So laß allda vor dem Altar deine Gabe und geh erst hin und versöhne dich mit deinem Bruder und dann komm und bringe deine Gabe dar.
leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
25 Sei willfährig gegen deinen Widersacher, schnell, während du mit ihm auf dem Wege bist, auf daß dich der Widersacher nicht dem Richter überantworte und der Richter dich überantworte dem Amtsdiener und du in das Gefängnis geworfen werdest.
Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are with him in the way; lest perhaps the prosecutor deliver you to the judge, and the judge to the officer, and you be cast into prison.
26 Wahrlich, Ich sage dir, du wirst nicht von dannen herauskommen, bis daß du auch den letzten Heller bezahlst.
Truly I tell you, you will never get out of there until you have paid the last penny.
27 Ihr habt gehört, daß zu den Alten gesagt ist: Du sollst nicht ehebrechen.
"You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery;'
28 Ich aber sage euch, daß, wer ein Weib ansieht, um ihrer zu begehren, der hat schon mit ihr die Ehe gebrochen in seinem Herzen.
but I tell you that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.
29 Ärgert dich aber dein rechtes Auge, so reiß es aus und wirf es von dir; denn es ist dir zuträglicher, daß eins deiner Glieder verderbe, denn daß dein ganzer Leib in die Hölle geworfen werde. (Geenna g1067)
And if your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gihana. (Geenna g1067)
30 Und ärgert dich deine rechte Hand, so haue sie ab und wirf sie von dir; denn es ist dir zuträglicher, daß eins deiner Glieder verderbe, denn daß dein ganzer Leib in die Hölle geworfen werde. (Geenna g1067)

31 Es ist aber gesagt worden: Wer sich von seinem Weibe scheidet, der gebe ihr einen Scheidebrief.
"And it was said, 'Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce,'
32 Ich aber sage euch: Wer sich von seinem Weibe scheidet, es sei denn wegen Buhlerei, der macht, daß sie die Ehe bricht; und wer eine Geschiedene freit, der bricht die Ehe.
but I tell you that everyone who divorces his wife, except for the cause of sexual immorality, makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries her when she is divorced commits adultery.
33 Wiederum habt ihr gehört, daß zu den Alten gesagt ist: Du sollst keinen falschen Eid tun, sondern dem Herrn deinen Eid halten.
"Again you have heard that it was said to them of old time, 'Do not make false vows, but fulfill your vows to the Lord.'
34 Ich aber sage euch: Ihr sollt gar nicht schwören, weder bei dem Himmel, denn er ist Gottes Thron;
But I tell you, do not swear at all, neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God;
35 Noch bei der Erde, denn sie ist Seiner Füße Schemel; noch bei Jerusalem, denn sie ist des großen Königs Stadt.
nor by the earth, for it is the footstool of his feet; nor by Urishlim, for it is the city of the great King.
36 Auch nicht bei deinem Haupt sollst du schwören, denn du kannst nicht ein Haar weiß oder schwarz machen.
Neither should you swear by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black.
37 Euer Wort aber sei: Ja, ja, nein, nein. Was weiter ist, das ist vom Übel.
But let your 'Yes' be 'Yes' and your 'No' be 'No.' Whatever is more than these is of the evil one.
38 Ihr habt gehört, daß gesagt ist: Aug Ü um Auge und Zahn um Zahn.
"You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.'
39 Ich aber sage euch: Ihr sollt dem Übel nicht widerstehen; sondern so dir einer einen Streich gibt auf deinen rechten Backen, dem wende den andern auch zu.
But I tell you, do not set yourself against the one who is evil. But whoever strikes you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40 Dem, der mit dir rechten und dir den Rock nehmen will, dem laß auch das Oberkleid.
And if anyone sues you to take away your shirt, let him have your coat also.
41 So dich einer eine Meile nötigt, gehe mit ihm zwei.
And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.
42 Gib dem, der dich bittet, und wende dich nicht ab von dem, der von dir entlehnen will.
Give to him who asks you, and do not turn away him who desires to borrow from you.
43 Ihr habt gehört, daß gesagt ist: Du sollst deinen Nächsten lieben und deinen Feind hassen.
"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor, and hate your enemy.'
44 Ich aber sage euch: Liebet eure Feinde, segnet, die euch fluchen, tut wohl denen, die euch hassen, und betet für die, welche euch beleidigen und verfolgen.
But I tell you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you,
45 Auf daß ihr Söhne werdet eures Vaters in den Himmeln; denn Er läßt Seine Sonne aufgehen über Schlechte und Gute, und läßt regnen über Gerechte und Ungerechte.
that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.
46 Denn so ihr liebet, die euch lieben, was für Lohn habt ihr? Tun nicht dasselbe auch die Zöllner?
For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
47 Und wenn ihr nur eure Brüder grüßet, was tut ihr weiteres? Tun nicht die Zöllner auch also?
And if you only greet your brothers, what more do you do than others? Do not even the non-Jews do the same?
48 So sollt nun ihr vollkommen sein, gleichwie euer Vater in den Himmeln vollkommen ist.
You therefore are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
