Matthaeus 19
1 Und es geschah, als Jesus diese Worte vollendet hatte, begab Er Sich aus Galiläa und kam in die Grenzen Judäas jenseits des Jordans.
Now it happened, when Jesus had finished these words, that He departed from Galilee and went to the borders of Judea beyond the Jordan.
2 Und es folgte Ihm viel Volk nach, und Er heilte sie daselbst.
And large crowds followed Him and there He healed them.
3 Und es kamen herzu zu Ihm die Pharisäer, versuchten Ihn und sagten zu Ihm: Ist es dem Menschen erlaubt, aus jeglicher Ursache sich von seinem Weibe zu scheiden?
The Pharisees also came to Him to test Him, saying to Him, “Is it permissible for a man to divorce his wife for just any cause?”
4 Er aber antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Habt ihr nicht gelesen, daß Er, Der sie von Anfang gemacht hat, sie als Mann und Weib gemacht hat?
So in answer He said to them: “Have you never read that the Creator at the beginning made them a male and a female?
5 Und Er sprach: Darum soll der Mensch Vater und Mutter verlassen und seinem Weibe anhangen. Und die zwei werden ein Fleisch sein.
And He said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall be turned into one flesh.’
6 So daß sie nicht mehr zwei, sondern ein Fleisch sind. Was nun Gott zusammengefügt, daß soll der Mensch nicht trennen.
So then, they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God joined together let not man separate!”
7 Sprechen sie zu Ihm: Warum hat dann Moses geboten, einen Scheidebrief zu geben und sie zu entlassen?
They say to Him, “Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce and to dismiss her?”
8 Er spricht zu ihnen: Um eurer Hartherzigkeit willen hat euch Moses gestattet, eure Weiber zu entlassen; von Anfang an aber ist es nicht also gewesen.
He says to them: “Because of your hard-heartedness Moses permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it has not been so.
9 Ich sage euch aber: Wer sein Weib entläßt, es sei denn um der Buhlerei willen, und eine andere freit, der bricht die Ehe, und wer eine Geschiedene freit, bricht die Ehe.
And I say to you that whoever divorces his wife, except for fornication, and marries another commits adultery; and whoever marries a divorcee commits adultery.”
10 Sprechen zu Ihm Seine Jünger: Ist die Sache des Menschen mit dem Weibe so, dann ist es nicht zuträglich, zu freien.
His disciples say to Him, “If that's the situation of a man with his wife, it is better not to marry!”
11 Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Nicht alle fassen dieses Wort, sondern die, denen es gegeben ist.
So He said to them: “Not all can assimilate this word, but those to whom it has been given.
12 Denn es sind Verschnittene, die von der Mutter Leib so geboren wurden, und sind Verschnittene, die von den Menschen verschnitten wurden, und sind Verschnittene, die um des Reiches der Himmel willen sich selbst verschnitten haben. Wer es fassen kann, der fasse es!
For there are eunuchs who were born that way, from their mother's womb; and there are eunuchs who were castrated by men; and there are eunuchs who castrated themselves for the sake of the kingdom of the heavens. He who is able to assimilate it, let him assimilate.”
13 Da wurden Kindlein zu Ihm gebracht, auf daß Er die Hände auf sie legete und betete; die Jünger aber bedrohten sie.
Then little children were brought to Him, that He might lay hands on them and pray; but the disciples rebuked them.
14 Jesus aber sprach: Lasset die Kindlein und wehret ihnen nicht zu Mir zu kommen; denn solcher ist das Reich der Himmel.
So Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not forbid them, for of such is the kingdom of the heavens.”
15 Und da Er die Hände auf sie gelegt, zog Er von dannen.
And after laying hands on them He moved on from there.
16 Und siehe, es kam einer herzu und sprach zu Ihm: Guter Lehrer, was soll ich Gutes tun, auf daß ich ewiges Leben habe? (aiōnios g166)
And then, a certain one came and said to Him, “Good teacher, what good thing must I do so that I may have eternal life?” (aiōnios g166)
17 Er aber sagte ihm: Was heißest du Mich gut? Niemand ist gut, denn der eine Gott. Willst du aber ins Leben eingehen, so halte die Gebote.
But He said to him: “Why do you call me good? No one is good except One, God. But if you want to enter into the life, keep the commandments.”
18 Er spricht zu Ihm: Welche? Jesus aber sprach: Das: du sollst nicht morden; du sollst nicht ehebrechen; du sollst nicht stehlen; du sollst kein falsch Zeugnis geben.
He says to Him, “Which ones?” So Jesus said: “‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not give false witness,’
19 Ehre Vater und Mutter; und du sollst deinen Nächsten lieben, wie dich selbst.
‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’”
20 Spricht zu Ihm der Jüngling: Alles das habe ich gehalten von meiner Jugend auf. Was mangelt mir noch?
The young man says to Him: “I have kept all these things since my youth. What do I still lack?”
21 Jesus sprach zu ihm: Wenn du willst vollkommen sein, gehe hin, verkaufe, was du hast, und gib den Armen, und du wirst einen Schatz im Himmel haben, und komm her, folge Mir nach!
Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come follow me.”
22 Als aber der Jüngling das Wort hörte, ging er betrübt weg; denn er hatte viel Besitztum.
So upon hearing that word the young man went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.
23 Jesus aber sprach zu Seinen Jüngern: Wahrlich, Ich sage euch: Es ist schwer, daß ein Reicher ins Reich der Himmel eingehe.
Then Jesus said to His disciples: “Assuredly I say to you that only with difficulty will a rich person enter into the kingdom of the heavens.
24 Wiederum aber sage Ich euch: Es ist leichter, daß ein Kamel durch ein Nadelöhr durchgehe, denn daß ein Reicher ins Reich Gottes eingehe.
And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter into the kingdom of God.”
25 Da aber die Jünger das hörten, staunten sie sehr und sagten: Wer kann dann gerettet werden?
Upon hearing it His disciples were really flabbergasted saying, “Who then can be saved?”
26 Jesus aber blickte sie an und sprach zu ihnen: Bei Menschen ist dies unmöglich, bei Gott aber sind alle Dinge möglich.
So looking at them Jesus said, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
27 Da antwortete Petrus und sprach zu Ihm: Siehe, wir haben alles verlassen und sind dir nachgefolgt. Was wird uns wohl werden?
Then Peter answered and said to Him: “See, we have left all and followed you. So what will we have?”
28 Jesus aber sprach zu ihnen: Wahrlich, Ich sage euch, daß ihr, die ihr Mir seid nachgefolgt in der Wiedergeburt, wenn des Menschen Sohn sitzen wird auf dem Throne Seiner Herrlichkeit, auch ihr sitzen werdet auf zwölf Thronen und richten die zwölf Stämme Israels.
So Jesus said to them: “Assuredly I say to you that in the Regeneration, when the Son of the Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
29 Und jeder, der Häuser, oder Brüder, oder Schwestern, oder Vater, oder Mutter, oder Weib, oder Kinder, oder Felder verläßt um Meines Namens willen, der soll es hundertfältig empfangen und das ewige Leben ererben. (aiōnios g166)
And, everyone who left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my name's sake will receive a hundredfold, and will inherit life eternal. (aiōnios g166)
30 Aber viele, welche Erste sind, werden Letzte, und Letzte werden Erste sein.
But many ‘first’ will be last, and ‘last’ first.
