Matthaeus 17
1 Und nach sechs Tagen nimmt Jesus zu Sich Petrus und Jakobus und Johannes, seinen Bruder, und bringt sie hinauf auf einen hohen Berg besonders.
Now after six days Jesus takes Peter, James and his brother John and leads them up on a high mountain, in private.
2 Und Er ward verwandelt vor Ihnen, und Sein Angesicht leuchtete wie die Sonne, und Seine Kleider wurden weiß wie das Licht.
And He was transfigured before them and his face shone like the sun, while His clothes became as white as the light.
3 Und siehe, es erschien ihnen Moses und Elias, und sie unterredeten sich mit Ihm.
When wow, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, conversing with Him.
4 Petrus aber antwortete und sprach zu Jesus: Herr, hier ist uns gut sein. Wenn Du willst, so wollen wir hier drei Hütten machen, Dir eine, und Moses eine, und Elias eine.
Then Peter reacted and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here; if you wish, let us make three booths: one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.”
5 Während er noch redete, siehe, da überschattete sie eine lichte Wolke; und siehe, eine Stimme aus der Wolke sprach: Dies ist Mein geliebter Sohn, an Dem Ich Wohlgefallen habe: Ihn sollt ihr hören!
While he was still speaking a brilliant cloud overshadowed them, and then, a Voice came out of the cloud saying: “This is my beloved Son in whom I am always well pleased. Hear Him!”
6 Und da das die Jünger hörten, fielen sie auf ihr Angesicht und fürchteten sich sehr.
As the disciples heard it they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid.
7 Jesus aber kam herzu und berührte sie und sprach: Stehet auf und fürchtet euch nicht.
Then Jesus came and touched them and said, “Get up, don't be afraid.”
8 Als sie aber ihre Augen aufhoben, sahen sie niemand als Jesus allein.
So lifting up their eyes they saw no one but Jesus only.
9 Und wie sie vom Berge herabstiegen, gebot ihnen Jesus und sprach: Saget niemand von dem Gesichte, bis daß des Menschen Sohn von den Toten auferstanden ist.
As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them saying, “Tell no one the vision until the Son of the Man is risen from the dead.”
10 Und Seine Jünger fragten Ihn und sprachen: Was sagen denn die Schriftgelehrten, daß Elias zuvor kommen müsse?
So His disciples questioned Him saying, “Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”
11 Jesus aber antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Elias kommt zwar zuerst, und wird alles herstellen.
In answer Jesus said to them: “Elijah is indeed coming first, and he will restore all things.
12 Aber Ich sage euch: Elias ist schon gekommen; und sie erkannten ihn nicht, sondern taten mit ihm, was sie wollten. Also wird auch des Menschen Sohn von ihnen leiden.
But I say to you that ‘Elijah’ has come already, and they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they wished. Thus also the Son of the Man is about to suffer at their hands.”
13 Da verstanden die Jünger, daß Er zu ihnen von Johannes dem Täufer sprach.
Then the disciples understood that He spoke to them of John the Baptizer.
14 Und da sie zum Gedränge kamen, kam ein Mensch zu Ihm, fiel vor Ihm auf die Knie,
As they came to the crowd a man approached Him and kneeling to Him said:
15 Und sprach: Herr, erbarme Dich meines Sohnes; denn er ist mondsüchtig und hat ein böses Leiden; denn oft fällt er ins Feuer, und oft ins Wasser.
“Lord, have mercy on my son, because he is moonstruck and suffers badly! For he often falls into the fire and often into the water.
16 Und ich brachte ihn zu Deinen Jüngern, und sie konnten ihn nicht heilen.
So I brought him to your disciples, but they could not cure him.”
17 Jesus aber antwortete und sprach: O ihr ungläubiges und verkehrtes Geschlecht, wie lange soll Ich bei euch sein? Wie lange soll Ich euch ertragen? Bringet Mir ihn her.
Then in answer Jesus said: “O faithless and perverse generation, how long must I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring him here to me.”
18 Und Jesus bedrohte ihn, und der Dämon fuhr aus von ihm. Und der Knabe war geheilt von selbiger Stunde an.
And Jesus rebuked the demon and it came out of him, and the boy was healed from that very hour.
19 Da kamen die Jünger zu Jesus besonders und sprachen: Warum konnten wir ihn nicht austreiben?
Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why were we not able to cast it out?”
20 Jesus aber sprach zu ihnen: Eures Unglaubens wegen; denn wahrlich, Ich sage euch, wenn ihr Glauben habt wie ein Senfkorn, so möget ihr zu diesem Berge sagen: Versetze dich von hinnen dorthin, so wird er sich versetzen, und nichts wird euch unmöglich sein.
So Jesus said to them: “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly I say to you, if you have faith like a mustard seed has, you (ye) will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
21 Diese Gattung aber fährt nur durch Beten und Fasten aus.
However, this class does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
22 Während sie aber in Galiläa umherwandelten, sprach Jesus zu ihnen: Es wird geschehen, daß des Menschen Sohn in die Hände der Menschen überantwortet wird.
While they were staying in Galilee Jesus said to them, “The Son of the Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men,
23 Und sie werden Ihn töten, aber am dritten Tage wird Er auferweckt werden. Und sie wurden sehr betrübt.
and they will kill Him, and on the third day He will be raised.” And they were seriously grieved.
24 Als sie aber nach Kapernaum kamen, kamen die, so die Doppeldrachmen einnahmen, herzu zu Petrus und sprachen: Entrichtet euer Lehrer die Doppeldrachme?
When they entered Capernaum those who collected the temple tax approached Peter and said, “Does your Teacher not pay the temple tax?”
25 Er sagt: Ja. Und als er ins Haus hineinkam, kam ihm Jesus zuvor und sprach: Was meinst du, Simon? Von wem nehmen die Könige der Erde Zoll oder Steuer? Von ihren Söhnen, oder von den Fremden?
He says, “Yes.” So when they entered the house Jesus anticipated him saying: “Simon, what do you think? From whom do the kings of the earth take customs or poll tax, from their sons or from strangers?”
26 Spricht zu Ihm Petrus: Von den Fremden. Da sprach Jesus zu ihm: Also sind die Söhne frei.
Peter says to Him, “From the strangers.” Jesus said to him: “Well then, the sons are free.
27 Damit wir sie aber nicht ärgern, gehe du ans Meer, wirf die Angel und nimm den ersten Fisch, der heraufsteigt, tue ihm den Mund auf und du wirst einen Stater finden. Nimm ihn und gib ihnen den für Mich und für dich.
But, lest we offend them, go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first. And opening its mouth you will find a ‘stater’ [a coin]; take that and give it to them for me and you.”
