1 In jenen Tagen war kein König in Israel; und in jenen Tagen suchte sich der Stamm der Daniter ein Erbe zum Wohnen; denn bis auf selbigen Tag war ihm noch kein Erbe inmitten der Stämme Israels zugefallen.
In tho daies was no kyng in Israel; and the lynage of Dan souyte possessioun to it silf, to dwelle ther ynne; for `til to that dai it hadde not take eritage among other lynagis.
2 Und die Söhne Dans sandten aus ihrer Familie fünf Männer aus ihren Enden, streitbare Männer aus Zorah und aus Eschtaol, das Land auszukundschaften und es zu erforschen, und sprachen zu ihnen: Geht und erforschet das Land. Und sie kamen auf das Gebirge Ephraim zum Hause Michahs und übernachteten allda.
Therfor the sones of Dan senten fyue the strongeste men of her generacioun and meynee fro Saraa and Escahol, that thei schulden aspie the lond, and biholde diligentli. And thei seiden to hem, Go ye, and biholde the lond. And whanne thei goynge hadden come in to the hil of Effraym, and hadden entrid in to the hows of Mycha, thei restiden there.
3 Sie waren am Hause Michahs, und sie erkannten die Stimme des Jünglings, des Leviten, und kehrten da ein und sprachen zu ihm: Wer hat dich hierher gebracht. Und was tust du hier? Und was hast du hier?
And thei knewen the voys of the yong wexynge dekene; and thei restiden in `the yn of hym, and seiden to hym, Who brouyte thee hidur? What doist thou here? For what cause woldist thou come hidur?
4 Und er sprach zu ihnen: So und so hat Michah an mir getan, und hat mich gedingt, und ich ward sein Priester.
Which answeride `to hem, Mychas yaf to me these and these thingis, and hiride me for meede, that Y be preest to hym.
5 Und sie sprachen zu ihm: Frage doch an bei Gott, daß wir wissen, ob uns gelinge der Weg, auf dem wir ziehen.
Forsothe thei preieden hym, that he schulde counsele the Lord, and thei myyten wite, whether thei yeden in weie of prosperite, and the thing schulde haue effect.
6 Und der Priester sprach zu ihnen: Gehet hin im Frieden; euer Weg, den ihr geht, ist gerade vor Jehovah.
Which answeride to hem, Go ye with pees, the Lord biholdith youre weie, and the iourney whidur ye goon.
7 Und die fünf Männer gingen hin und kamen gen Laisch und sahen das Volk, das in seiner Mitte war, sicher wohnen, nach der Weise der Zidonier, stille und sicher. Da war keiner, der wegen etwas einem Schande antat, oder Gewalt besäße. Und sie waren fern von den Zidoniern und hatten mit keinem Menschen etwas.
Therfor the fyue men yeden, and camen to Lachys; and thei siyen the puple dwellynge ther ynne with outen ony drede, bi the custom of Sidonyis, sikur and resteful, for no man outirli ayenstood hem, and `of grete richessis, and fer fro Sidon, and departid fro alle men.
8 Und sie kamen zu ihren Brüdern nach Zorah und Eschtaol, und ihre Brüder sprachen zu ihnen: Wie ist es mit euch?
And thei turneden ayen to her britheren in Saraa and Escahol; and thei answeriden to `britheren axynge what thei hadden do,
9 Und sie sprachen: Machet euch auf, und lasset uns hinaufziehen wider sie; denn wir haben das Land gesehen, und siehe, es ist sehr gut. Und nun schweiget ihr? Verziehet nicht, zu gehen, kommet, um das Land einzunehmen!
Rise ye, and stie we to hem, for we siyen the lond ful riche and plenteuous; nyle ye be necgligent, nil ye ceesse, go we, and haue it in possessioun;
10 So ihr hinkommt, werdet ihr zu einem sicheren Volke kommen, und das Land ist weit nach beiden Seiten. Denn Gott hat es in eure Hand gegeben. Es ist ein Ort, da es keinen Mangel hat an irgend etwas, das auf Erden ist.
no trauel schal be; we schulen entre to sikir men, in to a largeste cuntrey; and the Lord schal bitake to vs a place, wher ynne is not pouert of ony thing of tho that ben brouyt forth in erthe.
11 Und sie brachen auf von dannen von der Familie der Daniter, aus Zorah und aus Eschtaol, sechshundert Mann, mit Waffen zum Streit gegürtet.
Therfor sixe hundrid men gird with armeris of batel yeden forth `of the kynrede of Dan, that is, fro Saraa and Escahol.
12 Und sie zogen hinauf und lagerten in Kirjath-Jearim in Judah, daher nennt man selbigen Ort bis auf diesen Tag Machaneh-Dan. Siehe, es ist hinter Kirjath-Jearim.
And thei stieden, and dwelliden in Cariathiarym of Juda, which place took fro that tyme the name of Castels of Dan, and is bihyndis the bak of Cariathiarym.
13 Und von dannen zogen sie hinüber auf das Gebirge Ephraim und kamen zum Hause des Michah.
Fro thennus thei passiden in to the hil of Effraym; and whanne thei hadden come to the hows of Mychas, the fyue men,
14 Und die fünf Männer, die gegangen waren, das Land Laisch auszukundschaften, hoben an und sprachen zu ihren Brüdern: Wisset ihr, daß da ist in diesen Häusern ein Ephod und Teraphim, und ein Schnitzbild und ein Gußbild? Und nun wisset ihr, was ihr tun sollt.
that weren sent bifore to biholde the lond of Lachis, seiden to her other britheren, Ye knowen, that ephod, and theraphyn, and a grauun ymage and yotun is in these housis; se ye what plesith you.
15 Und sie wandten sich dorthin und kamen zum Haus des Jungen, des Leviten, zum Haus Michahs und fragten ihn nach seinem Wohlsein.
And whanne thei hadden bowid a litil, thei entriden in to the hows of the yong dekene, that was in the hows of Mychas, and thei gretten hym with pesible wordis.
16 Und die sechshundert Mann von den Söhnen Dans, gegürtet mit ihren Waffen des Streites, hatten sich am Eingang des Tores aufgestellt.
Forsothe sixe hundrid men stoden bifore the dore, so as thei weren armed. And thei, that entriden in to the `hows of the yong man, enforsiden to take awey the grauun ymage, and the ephod, and theraphin, and the yotun ymage; and the preest stood bifore the dore,
17 Und die fünf Männer, die gegangen waren, das Land auszukundschaften, gingen hinauf, kamen da hinein, nahmen das Schnitzbild und das Ephod und die Teraphim und das Gußbild. Und der Priester stand am Eingang des Tores und die sechshundert Männer, gegürtet mit Waffen des Streites.
while sixe hundrid strongeste men abideden not fer.
18 Und sie kamen in Michahs Haus und nahmen das Schnitzbild, das Ephod, die Teraphim und das Gußbild und der Priester sprach zu ihnen: Was tut ihr?
Therfor thei that entriden token the grauun ymage, ephod, and idols, and the yotun ymage; to whiche the preest seide, What doen ye?
19 Und sie sprachen zu ihm: Schweig still, lege deine Hand auf deinen Mund und gehe mit uns und sei uns zum Vater und zum Priester. Ist es besser für dich, daß du für das Haus eines Mannes Priester bist, oder daß du Priester seiest für einen Stamm und eine Familie in Israel?
To whom thei answeriden, Be thou stille, and putte the fyngur on thi mouth, and come with vs, that we haue thee fadir and preest. What is betere to thee, that thou be preest in the hows of o man, whether in o lynage and meynee in Israel?
20 Und das Herz des Leviten ward begütigt, und er nahm das Ephod und die Teraphim und das Schnitzbild und kam in des Volkes Mitte.
And whanne he hadde herd this, he assentide to `the wordis of hem, and he took the ephod, and ydols, and the grauun ymage, and yede forth with hem.
21 Und sie wandten sich und zogen hin, und sie hatten Kinder, Viehherden und schwere Habe vorausgestellt.
And whanne thei yeden, and hadden maad the litle children, and werk beestis, and al thing that was preciouse, to go bifor hem;
22 Sie entfernten sich von Michahs Haus, da wurden die Männer in den Häusern, bei Michahs Haus berufen, und holten Dans Söhne ein;
and whanne thei weren now fer fro `the hows of Mychas, men that dwelliden in the housis of Mychas, crieden togidere, and sueden,
23 Und sie riefen den Söhnen Dans zu; und sie wandten ihre Angesichte herum und sprachen zu Michah: Was hast du, daß du sie berufen hast?
and bigunnun to crye `aftir the bak. Whiche whanne thei hadden biholde, seiden to Mychas, What wolt thou to thee? whi criest thou?
24 Und er sprach: Meine Götter, die ich gemacht habe, habt ihr genommen und den Priester, und seid davongegangen. Und was habe ich noch? Und was ist es, daß ihr zu mir sagt: Was hast du denn?
Which answeride, Ye han take awey my goddis whiche Y made to me, and the preest, and alle thingis whiche Y haue; and ye seien, What is to thee?
25 Und die Söhne Dans sprachen zu ihm: Laß deine Stimme nicht bei uns hören, auf daß nicht Männer von erbitterter Seele auf euch stoßen, und du deine Seele und deines Hauses Seele hinraffst.
And the sones of Dan seiden to hym, Be war, lest thou speke more to vs, and men styrid in soule come to thee, and thou perische with al thin hows.
26 Und die Söhne Dans zogen ihres Weges, und Michah sah, daß sie ihm zu stark waren, und er wandte sich und kehrte in sein Haus zurück.
And so thei yeden forth in the iourney bigunnun. Forsothe Mychas siy, that thei weren strongere than he, and turnede ayen in to his hows.
27 Und sie nahmen, was Michah gemacht, und den Priester, den er hatte, und sie kamen wider Laisch und wider das stille und sichere Volk, und schlugen sie mit der Schärfe des Schwertes und verbrannten die Stadt mit Feuer.
Forsothe sixe hundrid men token the preest, and the thingis whiche we biforseiden, and camen in to Lachis to the puple restynge and sikur; and thei smytiden hem bi the scharpnesse of swerd, and bitoken the citee to brennyng,
28 Und niemand errettete sie; denn sie war ferne von Zidon und hatte mit keinem Menschen etwas. Und sie war im Talgrunde bei Beth-Rechob. Sie aber bauten die Stadt und wohnten darin,
while no man outirli yaf help, for thei dwelliden fer fro Sydon, and hadden not ony thing of felouschipe and cause with ony of men. Forsothe the citee was set in the cuntrei of Roob; which citee thei bildiden eft, and dwelliden ther ynne;
29 Und nannten den Namen der Stadt Dan, nach dem Namen ihres Vaters Dan, der dem Israel geboren wurde. Aber zuerst war der Name der Stadt Laisch.
while the name of the citee was clepid Dan, bi the name of her fadir, whom Israel hadde gendrid, which citee was seid Lachis bifore.
30 Und die Söhne Dans richteten sich das Schnitzbild auf, und Jehonathan, der Sohn Gerschom, des Sohnes Menaschehs, er und seine Söhne waren Priester dem Stamme des Daniters, bis auf den Tag, da das Land weggeführt wurde.
And `thei settiden there the grauun ymage, and Jonathas, sone of Jerson, sone of Moises, and `Jonathas sones, preestis, in the lynage of Dan, til in to the dai of her caitifte.
31 Und sie stellten für sich auf das Schnitzbild Michahs, das er gemacht hatte, alle die Tage, die das Haus Gottes in Schiloh war.
And the idol of Mychas dwellide at hem, in al the tyme `in which the hows of God was in Silo. In tho daies was no kyng in Israel.
