1 Und Simson ging hinab nach Thimnatha und sah in Thimnatha ein Weib unter den Töchtern der Philister;
Nowe Samson went downe to Timnath, and saw a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistims,
2 Und er kam herauf und sagte es seinem Vater und seiner Mutter an und sprach: Ich habe ein Weib gesehen in Thimnatha von den Töchtern der Philister, und nun nehmt sie mir zum Weibe.
And he came vp and told his father and his mother and saide, I haue seene a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistims: now therfore giue me her to wife.
3 Und sein Vater und seine Mutter sprachen zu ihm: Ist denn unter den Töchtern deiner Brüder und unter all meinem Volk kein Weib, daß du hingehst und nimmst ein Weib von den unbeschnittenen Philistern? Und Simson sprach zu seinem Vater: Die nimm mir, denn sie ist recht im meinen Augen.
Then his father and his mother sayde vnto him, Is there neuer a wife among the daughters of thy brethren, and among all my people, that thou must go to take a wife of the vncircumcised Philistims? And Samson sayd vnto his father, Giue mee her, for she pleaseth me well.
4 Und sein Vater und seine Mutter wußten nicht, daß es von Jehovah war, daß er Gelegenheit suchte gegen die Philister. Und zu der Zeit herrschten die Philister über Israel.
But his father and his mother knewe not that it came of the Lord, that he should seeke an occasion against the Philistims: for at that time the Philistims reigned ouer Israel.
5 Und Simson ging mit seinem Vater und seiner Mutter hinab nach Thimnatha; und sie kamen an die Weinberge von Thimnatha, und siehe, ein junger Löwe brüllte ihm entgegen.
Then went Samson and his father and his mother downe to Timnath, and came to ye vineyardes at Timnath: and beholde, a young Lyon roared vpon him.
6 Und der Geist Jehovahs fuhr in ihn und er zerriß denselben, wie man ein Böcklein zerreißt, und doch hatte er gar nichts in seiner Hand. Und er sagte seinem Vater und seiner Mutter nicht an, was er getan hatte.
And the Spirit of the Lord came vpon him, and he tare him, as one should haue rent a kid, and had nothing in his hand, neither told he his father nor his mother what he had done.
7 Und er ging hinab und redete zu dem Weibe und sie war recht in Simsons Augen.
And he went down, and talked with the woman which was beautifull in the eyes of Samson.
8 Und er kam zurück nach einigen Tagen, um sie zu nehmen; und er lenkte ab, um nach dem Aas des Löwen zu sehen, und siehe, ein Schwarm Bienen war in dem Leib des Löwen, und Honig.
And within a fewe dayes, when he returned to receiue her, he went aside to see the karkeis of the Lion: and behold, there was a swarme of bees, and hony in the body of the Lyon.
9 Und er nahm diesen heraus in seine Hände, und ging und aß davon, während er hinging, und ging zu seinem Vater und seiner Mutter, und er gab ihnen, und sie aßen; er sagte ihnen aber nicht, daß er aus des Löwen Leib den Honig herausgenommen hatte.
And he tooke therof in his handes, and went eating, and came to his father and to his mother, and gaue vnto them, and they did eate: but hee told not them, that he had taken the hony out of the body of the lyon.
10 Und sein Vater ging hinab zu dem Weibe, und Simson machte daselbst ein Gastmahl, denn so machten es die Jünglinge.
So his father went down vnto the woman, and Samson made there a feast: for so vsed the yong men to doe.
11 Und es geschah, da sie ihn sahen, nahmen sie dreißig Genossen, die bei ihm sein sollten.
And when they sawe him, they brought thirtie companions to be with him.
12 Und Simson sprach zu ihnen: Ich will euch ein Rätsel raten lassen, und wenn ihr es mir während der sieben Tage des Gastmahls ansagt und ausfindet, so gebe ich euch dreißig Hemden und dreißig Feierkleider.
Then Samson sayd vnto them, I will nowe put forth a riddle vnto you: and if you can declare it me within seuen dayes of the feast, and finde it out, I will giue you thirty sheetes, and thirtie change of garments.
13 Und könnt ihr es mir nicht ansagen, so gebt ihr mir dreißig Hemden und dreißig Feierkleider. Und sie sagten zu ihm: Laß raten dein Rätsel, daß wir es hören.
But if you cannot declare it mee, then shall yee giue mee thirty sheetes and thirtie change of garments. And they answered him, Put forth thy riddle, that we may heare it.
14 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Von dem Esser ging aus Speise, und Süßes ging aus von dem Starken. Und sie konnten in drei Tagen das Rätsel nicht ansagen.
And he sayd vnto them, Out of the eater came meate, and out of the strong came sweetenesse: and they could not in three dayes expound the riddle.
15 Und es geschah am siebenten Tage, daß sie sprachen zu Simsons Weib: Berede deinen Mann, daß er uns das Rätsel ansage; sonst verbrennen wir dich und deines Vaters Haus mit Feuer. Habt ihr uns hierher gerufen, um uns arm zu machen oder nicht?
And when the seuenth day was come, they said vnto Samsons wife, Entise thine husband, that he may declare vs the riddle, lest wee burne thee and thy fathers house with fire. Haue ye called vs, to possesse vs? is it not so?
16 Und das Weib Simsons weinte bei ihm und sprach: Fürwahr, du hassest mich und hast mich nicht lieb. Du läßt die Söhne meines Volkes das Rätsel raten, und mir sagst du es nicht an. Und er sprach zu ihr: Siehe, meinem Vater und meiner Mutter habe ich es nicht angesagt. Und dir sollt ich es ansagen?
And Samsons wife wept before him, and said, Surely thou hatest mee and louest mee not: for thou hast put forth a riddle vnto the children of my people, and hast not told it mee. And hee sayd vnto her, Beholde, I haue not told it my father, nor my mother, and shall I tell it thee?
17 Und sie weinte bei ihm sieben Tage, solange sie das Gastmahl hatten. Und es geschah, am siebenten Tage sagte er es ihr an, weil sie ihn beengte; und sie sagte das Rätsel den Söhnen ihres Volkes an.
Then Samsons wife wept before him seuen dayes, while their feast lasted: and when the seuenth day came he tolde her, because she was importunate vpon him: so she told the riddle to the children of her people.
18 Und die Männer der Stadt sprachen zu ihm am siebenten Tage, bevor die Sonne unterging: Was ist süßer als Honig und was stärker als der Löwe? Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Hättet ihr nicht mit meiner Färse gepflügt, ihr hättet mein Rätsel nicht ausgefunden.
And the men of ye citie sayde vnto him the seuenth day before the Sunne went downe, What is sweeter then honie? and what is stronger then a lyon? Then sayd hee vnto them, If yee had not plowed with my heiffer, yee had not found out my riddle.
19 Und der Geist Jehovahs fuhr in ihn, und er ging hinab nach Aschkelon, und erschlug ihrer dreißig Männer, und er nahm, was er ihnen auszog und gab die Feierkleider denen, die das Rätsel angesagt. Und sein Zorn entbrannte, und er ging hinauf in seines Vaters Haus.
And the Spirite of the Lord came vpon him, and he went downe to Ashkelon, and slew thirtie men of them and spoyled them, and gaue chaunge of garments vnto them, which expounded the riddle: and his wrath was kindled, and he went vp to his fathers house.
20 Und Simsons Weib ward seinem Freunde, der sein Genosse war.
Then Samsons wife was giuen to his companion, whom he had vsed as his friend.
