Josua 11

1 Und es geschah, da Jabin, der König von Chazor, es hörte, da sandte er an Jobab, den König von Madon und an den König von Schimron und an den König von Achschaph;

And it came to pass, that, when Yabin the king of Chazor heard these things, he sent to Yobab the king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,

2 Und an die Könige, die von Mitternacht her auf dem Gebirge und auf dem Flachland gen Mittag von Kinneroth und in der Niederung und in Naphoth Dor vom Meere her waren;

And to the kings that were at the north, on the mountains, and in the plains, south of Kinneroth, and in the lowlands, and in the district of Dor on the west,

3 An den Kanaaniter vom Aufgang her und vom Meere her und den Amoriter und den Chethiter und den Pherisiter und den Jebusiter in dem Gebirge und den Chiviter unter dem Chermon im Lande Mizpah.

To the Canaanites on the east and on the west, and to the Emorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Jebusites in the mountains, and to the Hivites under Chermon in the land of Mizpah.

4 Und diese zogen aus, und all ihre Lager mit ihnen, viel Volkes wie der Sand am Ufer des Meeres an Menge; und sehr viel Rosse und Streitwagen.

And they went out, they and all their camps with them, much people, even as the sand that is upon the sea-shore in multitude, and with very many horses and chariots.

5 Und es taten sich zusammen alle diese Könige, und kamen und lagerten beisammen an den Wassern Merom, um mit Israel zu streiten.

And all these kings assembled themselves together, and they came and encamped together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.

6 Und Jehovah sprach zu Joschua: Fürchte dich nicht vor ihnen; denn morgen um diese Zeit gebe Ich sie alle erschlagen dahin vor Israel. Ihre Rosse sollst du lähmen und ihre Streitwagen im Feuer verbrennen.

And the Lord said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them; for tomorrow about this time will I give all of them up slain before Israel: their horses shalt thou hamstring and their chariots shalt thou burn with fire.

7 Und Joschua und all das Kriegsvolk mit ihm kam plötzlich über sie an den Wassern Merom und fiel über sie her.

And Joshua and all the people of war with him came upon them by the waters of Merom suddenly; and they fell upon them.

8 Und Jehovah gab sie in die Hand Israels; und sie schlugen sie und setzten ihnen nach bis Zidon, die große Stadt, und bis Misrephoth Majim und bis zur Talebene Mizpeh gegen Aufgang, und sie schlugen sie, bis ihnen kein Rest übrig war.

And the Lord delivered them into the hand of Israel, who smote them, and pursued them unto great Zidon, and unto Missrephoth-mayim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left them none that escaped.

9 Und Joschua tat ihnen, wie ihm Jehovah gesagt hatte: Ihre Rosse lähmte er und verbrannte ihre Streitwagen im Feuer.

And Joshua did unto them as the Lord had said unto him: their horses he hamstringed and their chariots he burnt with fire.

10 Und Joschua kehrte um in selbiger Zeit und eroberte Chazor, und schlug dessen König mit dem Schwert. Denn Chazor war vordem das Haupt aller dieser Königreiche.

And Joshua at that time turned back, and captured Chazor, and its kings he smote with the sword; for Chazor aforetimes was the head of all these kingdoms.

11 Und jede Seele in ihr erschlugen sie mit der Schärfe des Schwertes und verbannten es, so daß nichts überblieb, in dem Odem war. Und Chazor verbrannte er mit Feuer.

And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, and devoted them; there was not left any one having breath; and Chazor he burnt with fire.

12 Und Joschua eroberte alle Städte dieser Könige und all ihre Könige, und schlug sie mit der Schärfe des Schwertes und verbannte sie, wie Mose, der Knecht Jehovahs, geboten hatte.

And all the cities of these kings, and all their kings, did Joshua capture, and he smote them with the edge of the sword, and he devoted them, as Moses the servant of the Lord had commanded.

13 Jedoch verbrannte Israel keine der Städte, die auf Anhöhen standen; nur Chazor allein verbrannte Joschua.

But as for the cities that had been left standing in their strength, these did Israel not burn: save Chazor only did Joshua burn.

14 Und alle Beute dieser Städte und das Vieh nahmen die Söhne Israels als Raub für sich; nur die Menschen alle schlugen sie mit der Schärfe des Schwertes, bis sie sie vernichtet hatten. Nichts, das Odem hatte, ließen sie verbleiben.

And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, did the children of Israel take as booty unto themselves; but all the men they smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them: they left not any one having breath.

15 Wie Jehovah Seinem Knechte Mose geboten hatte, also gebot Mose dem Joschua; und also tat Joschua, und in keinem Worte wich dieser von allem ab, was Jehovah dem Mose geboten hatte.

As the Lord had commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua: he left nothing undone of all that the Lord had commanded Moses.

16 Und Joschua nahm dies ganze Land, das Gebirge und das ganze Mittagsland, und das ganze Land Goschen und die Niederung, und das Flachland, und das Gebirge Israel und seine Niederung.

And Joshua took all that land, the mountain, and all the south country, and all the land of Goshen, and the lowlands, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and its lowlands;

17 Von dem kahlen Berge, der aufsteigt gen Seir, bis Baal Gad in der Talebene des Libanon unten am Berge Chermon; und alle ihre Könige eroberte er und schlug und tötete sie.

From the bald mountain that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Chermon; and all their kings he captured, and smote them, and slew them.

18 Viele Tage hatte Joschua Streit mit allen diesen Königen.

A long time did Joshua make war with all these kings.

19 Es war keine Stadt, die mit den Söhnen Israels Frieden machte, außer den Chivitern, den Einwohnern Gibeons; sie nahmen alle im Streit.

There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gib'on: the whole they took by war.

20 Denn von Jehovah war es, daß sie ihr Herz bestärkten, im Streite Israel zu begegnen, um sie zu verbannen, auf daß ihnen keine Gnade widerführe, sondern sie vernichtet würden, wie Jehovah Mose geboten hatte.

For of the Lord it was to harden their heart, that they should come against Israel in battle, in order to destroy them utterly, that they might obtain no favor: but in order that he might exterminate them, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

21 Und Joschua kam in selbiger Zeit und rottete die Enakim aus vom Gebirge, von Chebron, von Debir, von Anab, und vom ganzen Gebirge Judah und vom ganzen Gebirge Israel; mit ihren Städten verbannte sie Joschua.

And Joshua came at that time, and cut off the 'Anakim from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from 'Anab, and from the whole mountain of Judah, and from the whole mountain of Israel: with their cities did Joshua destroy them utterly.

22 Und man ließ keine Enakim im Lande der Söhne Israels übrigbleiben. Nur in Gazah, in Gath und in Aschdod verblieben sie.

There was none of the 'Anakim left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gazzah, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained some.

23 Und Joschua nahm das ganze Land gemäß allem, was Jehovah zu Mose geredet hatte, und Joschua gab es Israel zum Erbe, nach den Teilen in ihren Stämmen, und das Land rastete vom Streit.

And Joshua' took the whole land, all just as the Lord had spoken unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel, according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.
