Jona 2
1 Und Jonah betete zu Jehovah, seinem Gotte, aus dem Leib des Fisches,
And Jonah prayeth unto Jehovah his God from the bowels of the fish.
2 Und sprach: Ich rief aus meiner Drangsal zu Jehovah, und Er antwortete mir; aus dem Bauche der Hölle habe ich aufgeschrien, Du hörtest meine Stimme. (Sheol h7585)
And he saith: I called, because of my distress, to Jehovah, And He doth answer me, From the belly of sheol I have cried, Thou hast heard my voice. (Sheol h7585)
3 Und Du warfst mich in den Schlund, in das Herz der Meere, und eine Strömung umgab mich, all Deine Brandungen und deine Wogen gingen über mich hin.
When Thou dost cast me [into] the deep, Into the heart of the seas, Then the flood doth compass me, All Thy breakers and Thy billows have passed over me.
4 Und ich sprach: Ich bin aus Deinen Augen vertrieben, doch werde ich wiederum den Tempel Deiner Heiligkeit erblicken.
And I — I said: I have been cast out from before Thine eyes, (Yet I add to look unto Thy holy temple!)
5 Die Wasser umfingen mich bis an die Seele, mich umgab der Abgrund, Schilf war mir um mein Haupt umgebunden.
Compassed me have waters unto the soul, The deep doth compass me, The weed is bound to my head.
6 Ich sank hinunter zu der Berge Gründe, die Erde - ihre Riegel waren um mich ewiglich. Du aber hast mein Leben aus der Grube heraufgebracht, Jehovah, mein Gott.
To the cuttings of mountains I have come down, The earth, her bars [are] behind me to the age. And Thou bringest up from the pit my life, O Jehovah my God.
7 Da meine Seele verzagte ob mir, gedachte ich an Jehovah, und mein Gebet kam zu Dir zum Tempel Deiner Heiligkeit.
In the feebleness within me of my soul Jehovah I have remembered, And come in unto Thee doth my prayer, Unto Thy holy temple.
8 Die zu der Eitelkeit Nichtigem halten, verlassen ihre Barmherzigkeit.
Those observing lying vanities their own mercy forsake.
9 Ich aber will Dir mit der Stimme des Bekenntnisses opfern. Was ich gelobt habe, will ich entrichten. Das Heil ist bei Jehovah.
And I — with a voice of thanksgiving — I sacrifice to Thee, That which I have vowed I complete, Salvation [is] of Jehovah.
10 Und Jehovah sprach zu dem Fisch, und er spie den Jonah aus an das Trockene.
And Jehovah saith to the fish, and it vomiteth out Jonah on the dry land.
