Joel 2
1 Stoßt in die Posaune in Zion und blaset Lärm auf dem Berg Meiner Heiligkeit! Zittern sollen alle, die im Lande wohnen; denn der Tag Jehovahs kommt, denn er ist nahe.
Blow the trumpet in Zion, wail on my holy mountain, let all the inhabitants of the land be stirred up. For the day of the Lord is on its way; for it is near:
2 Ein Tag der Finsternis und des Dunkels, ein Tag der Wolke und der Wolkenmacht, wie die Morgenröte sich ausbreitet über die Berge, ein zahlreich und mächtiges Volk, wie keines war in Ewigkeit, noch nach ihm fürder sein wird in den Jahren von Geschlecht und Geschlecht.
a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and whirlwinds. Like the morning reaching over the mountains, they are a numerous and strong people. Nothing like them has existed since the beginning, nor will exist after them, even in the years of generation upon generation.
3 Vor ihm her frißt Feuer und hinter ihm flammt die Flamme. Wie ein Garten Edens ist das Land vor ihm, und hinter ihm ist wie der Wüste Verwüstung; und wird vor ihm auch kein Entkommen sein.
Before their face is a devouring fire, and behind them is a burning flame. The land before them is like a lush garden, and behind them is a desolate desert, and there is no one who can escape them.
4 Wie der Rosse Ansehen ist sein Ansehen; und wie die Reiter, so laufen sie.
Their appearance is like the appearance of horses, and they will rush forward like horsemen.
5 Wie die Stimme der Streitwagen, so hüpfen sie auf den Häuptern der Berge daher; wie mit der Stimme der Feuerflamme, da sie die Stoppeln frißt; wie ein mächtig Volk, zum Streit geordnet.
Like the sound of a four-horse chariot, they will leap over the tops of the mountains. Like the sound of a burning flame devouring stubble, they are as a strong people prepared for battle.
6 Davor kreißen die Völker, alle Angesichter ziehen ihr Wangenrot ein.
Before their face, the people will be tortured; each one’s appearance will retreat, as if into a jar.
7 Wie Helden laufen sie, wie Männer des Streites steigen sie auf die Mauer hinauf; und jeder Mann geht seinen Weg, nicht wechseln sie ihre Pfade um.
They will rush forward, as if they were strong. Like valiant warriors, they will ascend the wall. The men will advance, each one on his own way, and they will not turn aside from their path.
8 Und kein Mann stößt wider seinen Bruder an; jeder Mann geht auf seiner Bahn. Sie fallen unter den Geschossen und brechen nicht ab.
And each one will not hem in his brother; every one will walk in his own rough path. Moreover, they will drop through the breach and not be harmed.
9 In der Stadt rennen sie umher, auf der Mauer laufen sie, steigen in die Häuser hinauf und kommen hinein durch die Fenster, wie der Dieb.
They will advance into the city; they will rush through the wall. They will scale the houses; they will go in through the windows, like a thief.
10 Vor ihm zittert die Erde, erbeben die Himmel, Sonne und Mond werden verdunkelt und die Sterne ziehen zusammen ihren Glanz.
Before their face, the earth has trembled, the heavens have been moved. The sun and moon have been obscured, and the stars have retracted their splendor.
11 Und Jehovah gibt Seine Stimme hervor vor Seiner Streitmacht; denn sehr groß ist Sein Heerlager, denn zahlreich sind die, so Sein Wort tun; denn groß ist der Tag Jehovahs, und sehr furchtbar, und wer kann ihn aushalten?
And the Lord has bestowed his voice before the face of his army. For its military camps are very numerous; for they are strong and they carry out his word. For the day of the Lord is great and so very terrible, and who can withstand it?
12 Aber auch jetzt, spricht Jehovah, kehrt zurück zu Mir mit eurem ganzen Herzen, und mit Fasten und mit Weinen und mit Klagen.
Now, therefore, the Lord says: “Be converted to me with your whole heart, in fasting and weeping and mourning.”
13 Und zerreißt euer Herz und nicht eure Kleider, und kehrt zurück zu Jehovah, eurem Gott; denn Er ist gnädig und erbarmungsvoll, langmütig und von großer Barmherzigkeit, und reuet Sich des Bösen.
And rend your hearts, and not your garments, and convert to the Lord your God. For he is gracious and merciful, patient and full of compassion, and steadfast despite ill will.
14 Wer weiß, Er kehrt zurück, und es reut Ihn und Er läßt verbleiben hinter ihm einen Segen: Speiseopfer und Trankopfer für Jehovah, euren Gott.
Who knows if he might convert and forgive, and bequeath a blessing after him, a sacrifice and a libation to the Lord your God?
15 Stoßt in die Posaune in Zion, heiligt ein Fasten, ruft zu einer Festversammlung!
Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call an assembly.
16 Versammelt das Volk, heiligt die Versammlung, bringt zusammen die Ältesten, versammelt die Kindlein und die Säuglinge an den Brüsten. Der Bräutigam komme heraus aus seiner Kammer, und die Braut aus ihrem Brautgemach!
Gather the people, sanctify the church, unite the elders, gather together the little ones and infants at the breast. Let the bridegroom depart from his bed, and the bride from her bridal chamber.
17 Zwischen der Vorhalle und dem Altar weinen die Priester, die Diener Jehovahs, und sprechen: Schone, Jehovah, Deines Volkes und gib Dein Erbe nicht hin der Schmach, daß die Völkerschaften über es herrschen. Warum sollen sie sprechen unter den Völkern: Wo ist ihr Gott?
Between the vestibule and the altar, the priests, the ministers of the Lord, will weep, and they will say: “Spare, O Lord, spare your people. And do not bequeath your inheritance into disgrace, so that the nations would rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’”
18 Und Jehovah eifert für Sein Land, und bemitleidet Sein Volk.
The Lord has been zealous for his land, and he has spared his people.
19 Und Jehovah wird antworten und sprechen zu Seinem Volk: Siehe, Ich sende euch das Korn und den Most und das Öl, auf daß ihr davon euch sättigt, und gebe euch nicht mehr zur Schmach unter den Völkerschaften dahin.
And the Lord responded, and he said to his people: “Behold, I will send you grain and wine and oil, and you will again be filled with them. And I will no longer give you disgrace among the Gentiles.
20 Und den von Mitternacht will Ich von euch entfernen und ihn verstoßen in ein dürres, wüstes Land, sein Angesicht zum östlichen Meer und seine Nachhut an das hintere Meer, und soll sein Gestank aufsteigen und seine Fäulnis aufsteigen; denn er hat sein Tun groß gemacht.
And he who is from the North, I will drive far from you. And I will expel him into an impassable land, and into the desert, with his face opposite the Eastern sea, and his furthest part towards the furthest sea. And his stench will ascend, and his rottenness will ascend, because he has acted arrogantly.
21 Fürchte dich nicht, o Boden, frohlocke und sei fröhlich, daß Jehovah hat Großes getan!
Earth, do not be afraid. Exult and rejoice. For the Lord has great esteem for what he has done.
22 Fürchtet euch nicht, ihr Vieh des Feldes, denn die Auen der Wüste keimen hervor, denn der Baum trägt seine Frucht, der Feigenbaum und der Weinstock geben ihr Vermögen.
Animals of the countryside, do not be afraid. For the beauty of the wilderness has sprung forth. For the tree has borne its fruit. The fig tree and the vine have bestowed their virtue.
23 Und ihr Söhne Zions frohlocket und seid fröhlich in Jehovah, eurem Gotte, daß Er euch gibt den Frühregen zur Gerechtigkeit, und für euch herabströmen läßt den Platzregen, den Frühregen und den Spätregen im ersten.
And you, sons of Zion, exult and rejoice in the Lord your God. For he has given you a teacher of justice, and he will make the early and the late rains descend to you, just as it was in the beginning.
24 Und die Tennen werden voll von Getreide und die Kufen sollen von Most und Öl überfließen.
And the threshing floors will be filled with grain, and the presses will overflow with wine and oil.
25 Und Ich erstatte euch die Jahre, welche die Heuschrecke, die Grille, der Schröter und die Raupe fraß, Meine große Streitmacht, die unter euch Ich sandte.
And I will repay you for the years which the locust, and the beetle, and the mildew, and the caterpillar consumed: my great strength which I sent upon you.
26 Und ihr sollt essen, essen und satt werden, und den Namen Jehovahs, eures Gottes, loben, Der Wunderbares mit euch getan, und Mein Volk soll nicht beschämt werden ewiglich.
And you will eat with enjoyment, and you will be satisfied, and you will praise the name of the Lord your God, who has worked miracles with you, and my people will not be confounded forever.
27 Und ihr sollt wissen, daß Ich inmitten Israels bin und Ich Jehovah bin, euer Gott, und keiner mehr. Und Mein Volk soll nicht beschämt werden ewiglich.
And you will know that I am in the midst of Israel, and I am the Lord your God, and there is no other, and my people will not be confounded forever.
28 Und es wird geschehen nach diesem, daß Ich Meinen Geist ausgieße über alles Fleisch, und weissagen werden eure Söhne und eure Töchter; eure Alten werden Träume träumen und eure Jünglinge Gesichte sehen.
And after this, it will happen that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy; your elders will dream dreams, and your youths will see visions.
29 Und auch über die Knechte und die Dienstmägde will Ich in jenen Tagen Meinen Geist ausgießen;
Moreover, in those days I will pour out my spirit upon my servants and handmaids.
30 Und will Wahrzeichen geben in den Himmeln und auf Erden, Blut und Feuer und Säulen von Rauch.
And I will grant wonders in the sky and on earth: blood and fire and the vapor of smoke.
31 Die Sonne wird sich in Finsternis und der Mond in Blut verwandeln, bevor der Tag Jehovahs kommt, der große und der furchtbare.
The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord shall arrive.
32 Und geschehen wird, daß jeglicher, der Jehovahs Namen anrufen wird, der wird entrinnen; denn auf dem Berge Zion und in Jerusalem wird ein Entkommen sein, wie Jehovah gesprochen hat, und unter dem Rest, den Jehovah ruft.
And it will happen that everyone who will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved. For on Mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and in the remnant whom the Lord will call, there will be salvation, just as the Lord has said.
