Jeremia 48
1 Über Moab. So spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels. Wehe über Nebo! Denn es ist verheert worden, beschämt und erobert ist Kirjathaim; Misgab ist beschämt und entsetzt.
Of Moab. Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Woe unto Nebo! for it is spoiled; Kiriathaim is put to shame, it is taken; Misgab is put to shame and dismayed.
2 Nichts mehr ist es mit dem Lobe Moabs. In Cheschbon gedenkt man Böses wider dasselbe. Kommt, lasset uns es ausrotten, daß es keine Völkerschaft mehr ist. Auch Madmen geht unter. Hinter dir geht das Schwert.
The praise of Moab is no more; in Heshbon they have devised evil against her: 'Come, and let us cut her off from being a nation.' Thou also, O Madmen, shalt be brought to silence; the sword shall pursue thee.
3 Die Stimme des Geschreis von Choronajim: Verheerung und großes Zerbrechen.
Hark! a cry from Horonaim, spoiling and great destruction!
4 Zerbrochen ist Moab. Ein Geschrei lassen seine Jüngeren hören.
Moab is destroyed; her little ones have caused a cry to be heard.
5 Denn Weinen steigt die Steige von Luchith herauf mit Weinen; denn beim Herabsteigen von Choronaim hören die Dränger das Geschrei des Zerbrechens.
For by the ascent of Luhith with continual weeping shall they go up; for in the going down of Horonaim they have heard the distressing cry of destruction.
6 Fliehet, laßt entrinnen eure Seele, und sie seien wie ein bloßer Strauch der Wüste.
Flee, save your lives, and be like a tamarisk in the wilderness.
7 Darum, daß du vertraust auf deine Werke und auf deine Schätze, wirst auch du erobert werden: und Chemosch wird in Verbannung ausziehen, seine Priester und seine Obersten allzumal.
For, because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou also shalt be taken; and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity, his priests and his princes together.
8 Und der Verheerer kommt über jegliche Stadt, und keine Stadt entrinnt, und verloren ist der Talgrund, und die Ebene vernichtet, so spricht Jehovah.
And the spoiler shall come upon every city, and no city shall escape; the valley also shall perish, and the plain shall be destroyed; as the LORD hath spoken.
9 Gebet Moab Flügel, denn im Ausflug wird es ausfliegen, und seine Städte werden zur Verwüstung, daß niemand darin wohnt.
Give wings unto Moab, for she must fly and get away; and her cities shall become a desolation, without any to dwell therein.
10 Verflucht sei, wer das Werk Jehovahs trüglich tut, und verflucht, wer abhält sein Schwert vom Blut.
Cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD with a slack hand, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood.
11 Sorglos war Moab von Jugend auf und rastete auf seinen Hefen, es ward nicht ausgeleert von Gefäß zu Gefäß; und es ging nicht zur Wegführung. Darum ist sein Geschmack ihm stehengeblieben, und sein Geruch ward nicht umgewandelt.
Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his lees, and hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity; therefore his taste remaineth in him, and his scent is not changed.
12 Darum siehe, Tage kommen, spricht Jehovah, daß Ich Umleerer sende, die es umleeren, und seine Gefäße umleeren und zerschmeißen seine Schläuche.
Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will send unto him them that tilt up, and they shall tilt him up; and they shall empty his vessels, and break their bottles in pieces.
13 Und Moab soll beschämt werden ob dem Chemosch, wie das Haus Israel beschämt ward ob Bethel, auf das es vertraute.
And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Beth-el their confidence.
14 Wie sprechet ihr: Wir sind Helden und tapfere Männer zum Streit.
How say ye: 'We are mighty men, and valiant men for the war'?
15 Verheert ist Moab, und seine Städte gehen auf. Und die Auswahl seiner Jünglinge geht hinab zur Schlachtbank, spricht der König, Jehovah der Heerscharen ist Sein Name.
Moab is spoiled, and they are gone up into her cities, and his chosen young men are gone down to the slaughter, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.
16 Nah, daß es komme, ist Moabs Not. Und sein Übel eilt sehr.
The calamity of Moab is near to come, and his affliction hasteth fast.
17 Zeiget ihm Beileid, alle ringsum und alle, die ihr seinen Namen kennt, sprechet: Wie ist doch der Stab der Stärke zerbrochen, der Stock des Schmuckes!
Bemoan him, all ye that are round about him, and all ye that know his name; say: 'How is the strong staff broken, the beautiful rod!'
18 Steige herab von der Herrlichkeit, sitze im Durste, Einwohnerin, Tochter von Dibon; denn der Verheerer Moabs steigt wider dich herauf, verdirbt deine Festungen.
O thou daughter that dwellest in Dibon, come down from thy glory, and sit in thirst; for the spoiler of Moab is come up against thee, he hath destroyed thy strongholds.
19 Stehe an den Weg und spähe aus, Einwohnerin von Aroer, frage den Flüchtigen und was entronnen ist, sprich: Was ist geschehen?
O inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way, and watch; ask him that fleeth, and her that escapeth; say: 'What hath been done?'
20 Beschämt ist Moab, ja entsetzt. Heulet und schreit! Sagt es am Arnon an, daß Moab verheert ist.
Moab is put to shame, for it is dismayed; wail and cry; tell ye it in Arnon, that Moab is spoiled.
21 Und ein Gericht ist über das Land der Ebene gekommen, über Cholon und über Jahzah und über Mephaath,
And judgment is come upon the country of the Plain; upon Holon, and upon Jahzah, and upon Mephaath;
22 Und über Dibon und über Nebo und über Beth-Diblathajim,
and upon Dibon, and upon Nebo, and upon Beth-diblathaim;
23 Und über Kirjathajim und über BethGamul und über Beth-Meon,
and upon Kiriathaim, and upon Beth-gamul, and upon Beth-meon;
24 Und über Kerijoth und über Bozrah und über alle Städte des Landes Moab, die fernen und die nahen.
and upon Kerioth, and upon Bozrah, and upon all the cities of the land of Moab, far or near.
25 Das Horn Moabs ist zerhauen und sein Arm gebrochen, spricht Jehovah.
The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken, saith the LORD.
26 Berauschet es; denn über Jehovah machte es sich groß, und es patsche Moab in sein Gespei, und werde selbst auch zum Gelächter!
Make ye him drunken, for he magnified himself against the LORD; and Moab shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall be in derision.
27 Und war dir Israel nicht zum Gelächter oder war es unter den Dieben gefunden, daß du, sooft du von ihm redetest, dich geschüttelt hast?
For was not Israel a derision unto thee? Was he found among thieves? For as often as thou speakest of him, thou waggest the head.
28 Verlasset die Städte und wohnet auf der Felsenklippe, die ihr in Moab wohnet, und seiet wie die Taube, die an den Seiten der Mündung der Höhle nistet.
O ye that dwell in Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock; and be like the dove that maketh her nest in the sides of the pit's mouth.
29 Wir haben von dem Stolze Moabs gehört, es ist sehr hochmütig von seiner Hoffart und seinem Stolz und seinem Übermut, und der Überhebung seines Herzens.
We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud; his loftiness, and his pride, and his haughtiness, and the assumption of his heart.
30 Ich kenne, spricht Jehovah, sein Wüten, daß es nicht recht ist, seine Unwahrheiten, daß sie, was nicht recht ist, getan.
I know his arrogancy, saith the LORD, that it is ill-founded; his boastings have wrought nothing well-founded.
31 Darum heule Ich über Moab und schreie über ganz Moab, über die Männer von Kir-Cheres muß man stöhnen.
Therefore will I wail for Moab; yea, I will cry out for all Moab; for the men of Kir-heres shall my heart moan.
32 Mehr als man weinte über Jaeser, weine Ich über dich, du Weinstock Sibmahs. Deine Ranken gingen über das Meer, bis zum Meer Jaesers reichten sie. In deine Obsternte und deine Weinlese fällt der Verheerer ein.
With more than the weeping of Jazer will I weep for thee, O vine of Sibmah; thy branches passed over the sea, they reached even to the sea of Jazer; upon thy summer fruits and upon thy vintage the spoiler is fallen.
33 Fröhlichkeit und Frohlocken ist weggenommen von dem Fruchtgefilde und von dem Lande Moabs, und den Wein laß von den Kufen Ich zu Ende kommen. Man keltert nimmer bei dem Kelterlied. Das Hedad ist kein Hedad.
And gladness and joy is taken away from the fruitful field, and from the land of Moab; and I have caused wine to cease from the winepresses; none shall tread with shouting; the shouting shall be no shouting.
34 Vom Geschrei Cheschbons an bis Elealeh, bis Jahaz erheben sie ihre Stimme; von Zoar bis Choronajim, eine dreijährige Färse; denn auch die Wasser Nimrims werden verwüstet werden.
From the cry of Heshbon even unto Elealeh, even unto Jahaz have they uttered their voice, from Zoar even unto Horonaim, a heifer of three years old; for the Waters of Nimrim also shall be desolate.
35 Und Ich lasse zu Ende kommen für Moab, spricht Jehovah, das Opfern auf den Opferhöhen und das Räuchern für seine Götter.
Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab, saith the LORD, him that offereth in the high place, and him that offereth to his gods.
36 Darum dröhnt mein Herz um Moab wie Flöten, um die Männer von Kir-Cheres dröhnt mein Herz wie Flöten, weil das übrige, das es gemacht, verloren ist.
Therefore my heart moaneth for Moab like pipes, and my heart moaneth like pipes for the men of Kir-heres; therefore the abundance that he hath gotten is perished.
37 Denn auf jedem Haupt ist Kahlheit und jeder Bart ist abgeschoren, auf allen Händen Ritze und auf den Lenden Säcke,
For every head is bald, and every beard clipped; upon all the hands are cuttings, and upon the loins sackcloth.
38 Auf allen Dächern Moabs und in seinen Straßen ist alles Klagen; denn zerbrochen habe Ich Moab, wie ein Gefäß, an dem man keine Lust hat, spricht Jehovah.
On all the housetops of Moab and in the broad places thereof there is lamentation every where; for I have broken Moab like a vessel wherein is no pleasure, saith the LORD.
39 Wie ist es entsetzt! Heulet! Wie hat Moab den Nacken gewendet! Schäme dich! Und Moab ist zum Gelächter und zum Entsetzen allen ringsumher geworden.
'How is it broken down!' wail ye! 'How hath Moab turned the back with shame!' So shall Moab become a derision and a dismay to all that are round about him.
40 Denn so spricht Jehovah: Siehe, wie der Adler schwebt er daher und breitet seine Flügel über Moab aus.
For thus saith the LORD: Behold, he shall swoop as a vulture, and shall spread out his wings against Moab.
41 Kerioth wird erobert und die Festen, sie wird eingenommen. Und an selbigem Tage wird das Herz der Helden Moabs wie das Herz des Weibes, das am Kreißen ist.
The cities are taken, and the strongholds are seized, and the heart of the mighty men of Moab at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
42 Und Moab wird vernichtet, daß es kein Volk ist; denn wider Jehovah hat es sich groß gemacht.
And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he hath magnified himself against the LORD.
43 Schauer und Fallgrube und Schlinge über dich, der du in Moab wohnst, spricht Jehovah.
Terror, and the pit, and the trap, are upon thee, O inhabitant of Moab, saith the LORD.
44 Wer vor dem Schauer flieht, fällt in die Fallgrube, und wer heraufkommt aus der Fallgrube, wird in der Schlinge gefangen; denn Ich lasse über dasselbe, über Moab, das Jahr ihrer Heimsuchung kommen, spricht Jehovah.
He that fleeth from the terror shall fall into the pit; and he that getteth up out of the pit shall be taken in the trap; for I will bring upon her, even upon Moab, the year of their visitation, saith the LORD.
45 Im Schatten Cheschbons stehen die, so aus Kräften flohen; jedoch ein Feuer geht von Cheschbon aus und eine Flamme zwischen Sichon hervor und frißt die Ecke Moabs und den Scheitel der Söhne des Tosens.
In the shadow of Heshbon the fugitives stand without strength; for a fire is gone forth out of Heshbon, and a flame from the midst of Sihon, and it devoureth the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones.
46 Wehe dir, Moab, verloren ist das Volk des Chemosch, denn man hat deine Söhne in Gefangenschaft genommen und deine Töchter in Gefangenschaft.
Woe unto thee, O Moab! The people of Chemosh is undone; for thy sons are taken away captive, and thy daughters into captivity.
47 Doch will Ich die Gefangenschaft Moabs in den letzten der Tage zurückwenden, spricht Jehovah. Bis hierher das Gericht Moabs.
Yet will I turn the captivity of Moab in the end of days, saith the LORD. Thus far is the judgment of Moab.
