Jeremia 29

1 Und dies sind die Worte des Schreibens, das Jirmejahu, der Prophet, von Jerusalem sandte an die übergebliebenen Ältesten der Weggeführten und an die Priester und an die Propheten und an alles Volk, das Nebuchadnezzar von Jerusalem nach Babel wegführte;

And these [are] words of the letter that Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem unto the remnant of the elders of the removal, and unto the priests, and unto the prophets, and unto all the people — whom Nebuchadnezzar removed from Jerusalem to Babylon,

2 Nachdem Jechonjah, der König, und die Gebieterin und die Hofbeamten, die Obersten Judahs und Jerusalems, und der Werkmann und der Schlosser von Jerusalem ausgezogen waren,

After the going forth of Jeconiah the king, and the mistress, and the officers, heads of Judah and Jerusalem, and the artificer, and the smith, from Jerusalem —

3 Durch die Hand Eleasahs, des Sohnes Schaphans, und Gemarjahs, des Sohnes Chilkijahs, die Zidkijah, der König Jehudahs, an Nebuchadnezzar, Babels König, nach Babel gesandt hatte, und sprach:

By the hand of Eleasah son of Shaphan, and Gemariah son of Hilkijah, whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent unto Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon — to Babylon, saying,

4 So spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels, zu allen Weggeführten, die Ich von Jerusalem nach Babel weggeführt habe:

'Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, to all the removal that I removed from Jerusalem to Babylon,

5 Baut Häuser und wohnet und pflanzet Gärten und esset ihre Frucht.

Build ye houses, and abide; and plant ye gardens, and eat their fruit;

6 Nehmt Weiber und zeugt Söhne und Töchter, und nehmt euren Söhnen Weiber und eure Töchter gebet Männern, daß Söhne und Töchter sie gebären, und ihr euch allda mehret und nicht weniger werdet.

Take ye wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take for your sons wives, and your daughters give to husbands, and they bear sons and daughters; and multiply there, and ye are not few;

7 Und sucht nach dem Frieden der Stadt, dahin Ich euch wegführte, und betet für sie zu Jehovah: denn in ihrem Frieden wird auch für euch Friede werden.

And seek the peace of the city whither I have removed you, and pray for it unto Jehovah, for in its peace ye have peace.

8 Denn also spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Lasset euch nicht verführen von Propheten in eurer Mitte, noch von euren Wahrsagern, und hört nicht auf eure Träume, die ihr euch träumen lasset.

'For thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, Let not your prophets who [are] in your midst, and your diviners, lift you up, nor hearken ye unto their dreams, that ye are causing [them] to dream;

9 Denn mit Lüge weissagen sie euch in Meinem Namen, Ich habe sie nicht gesandt, spricht Jehovah.

For with falsehood they are prophesying to you in My name; I have not sent them, an affirmation of Jehovah.

10 Denn also spricht Jehovah: Wenn siebzig Jahre voll sind für Babel, werde Ich euch heimsuchen und über euch Mein gutes Wort bestätigen, daß Ich euch zurückbringe an diesen Ort.

'For thus said Jehovah, Surely at the fulness of Babylon — seventy years — I inspect you, and have established towards you My good word, to bring you back unto this place.

11 Denn Ich weiß die Gedanken, die Ich denke über euch, spricht Jehovah, Gedanken des Friedens und nicht zum Bösen, euch zu geben eine Zukunft und Hoffnung.

For I have known the thoughts that I am thinking towards you — an affirmation of Jehovah; thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give to you posterity and hope.

12 Und rufet ihr Mich und wandelt und betet zu Mir, so werde Ich auf euch hören.

'And ye have called Me, and have gone, and have prayed unto Me, and I have hearkened unto you,

13 Und ihr werdet Mich suchen und finden, wenn ihr nach Mir sucht von ganzem Herzen.

And ye have sought Me, and have found, for ye seek Me with all your heart;

14 Und Ich werde Mich von euch finden lassen, spricht Jehovah, und werde zurückwenden eure Gefangenschaft und euch zusammenbringen aus allen Völkerschaften und aus allen Orten, wohin Ich euch verstoßen habe, spricht Jehovah. Und Ich will euch zurückbringen an den Ort, von wo Ich euch weggeführt habe.

And I have been found of you — an affirmation of Jehovah; and I have turned back [to] your captivity, and have gathered you out of all the nations, and out of all the places whither I have driven you — an affirmation of Jehovah — and I have brought you back unto the place whence I removed you.

15 Wenn ihr sagt: Jehovah hat uns in Babel Propheten auferstehen lassen:

'Because ye have said, Jehovah hath raised up to us prophets in Babylon,

16 Nun so sprach Jehovah zu dem König, der auf dem Throne Davids sitzt, und zu allem Volk, das in dieser Stadt wohnt, euren Brüdern, die nicht in die Wegführung mit euch sind ausgezogen;

Surely thus said Jehovah concerning the king who is sitting on the throne of David, and concerning all the people that is dwelling in this city, your brethren who went not forth with you in the removal;

17 So spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen: Siehe, Ich sende gegen sie das Schwert, den Hunger und die Pest, und gebe sie wie die herben Feigen, die man nicht essen mag vor Schlechtigkeit.

Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, Lo, I am sending among them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and I have given them up as figs that [are] vile, that are not eaten for badness.

18 Und setze hinter ihnen nach mit dem Schwert, mit Hunger und mit Pest, und mache sie zum Grauen für alle Königreiche der Erde, zur Verwünschung und zur Verwüstung und zum Gezisch und zur Schmach für alle Völkerschaften, wohin Ich sie verstoßen habe.

And I have pursued after them with sword, with famine, and with pestilence, and have given them for a trembling to all kingdoms of the earth, for a curse and for an astonishment, and for a hissing, and for a reproach among all the nations whither I have driven them,

19 Dafür, daß sie auf Meine Worte nicht gehört, spricht Jehovah, während Ich zu ihnen sandte Meine Knechte, die Propheten, früh aufstehend und sendend, aber ihr hörtet nicht, spricht Jehovah.

Because that they have not hearkened unto My words — an affirmation of Jehovah — that I sent unto them by My servants the prophets, rising early and sending, and ye hearkened not — an affirmation of Jehovah.

20 So hört denn ihr das Wort Jehovahs, ihr alle, die ihr weggeführt worden, die Ich von Jerusalem gen Babel habe gesandt.

'And ye, hear ye a word of Jehovah, all ye of the captivity that I have sent from Jerusalem to Babylon,

21 So spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels, wider Achab, den Sohn Kolajahs, und wider Zidkijahu, Maasejahs Sohn, die euch in Meinem Namen Lüge weissagten: Siehe, Ich gebe sie in die Hand Nebuchadrezzars, des Königs von Babel, und er schlägt sie vor euren Augen.

Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, concerning Ahab son of Kolaiah, and concerning Zedekiah son of Maaseiah, who are prophesying to you in My name falsehood: Lo, I am giving them into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he hath smitten them before your eyes,

22 Und wird genommen werden von ihnen her ein Fluch bei allen Weggeführten Jehudahs in Babel, sprechend: Jehovah mache dich wie Zidkijahu und wie Achab, die Babels König am Feuer gebraten.

And taken from them hath been a reviling by all the removed of Judah that [are] in Babylon, saying, Jehovah doth set thee as Zedekiah, and as Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted with fire;

23 Weil sie Torheit in Israel taten und Ehebruch trieben mit den Weibern ihrer Genossen, und in Meinem Namen das Wort der Lüge redeten, welches Ich ihnen nicht geboten hatte. Und Ich, Ich weiß es und bin Zeuge, spricht Jehovah.

Because that they have done folly in Israel, and commit adultery with the wives of their neighbours, and speak a word in My name falsely that I have not commanded them, and I [am] He who knoweth and a witness — an affirmation of Jehovah.

24 Und sprich zu Schemajahu aus Nechalam, sprechend:

'And unto Shemaiah the Nehelamite thou dost speak, saying,

25 So spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels, sprechend: Darum, daß du unter deinem Namen Briefe an alles Volk, das in Jerusalem ist, und an Zephanjah, Maasejahs Sohn, den Priester, und an alle Priester gesandt hast und gesagt:

Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, saying, Because that thou hast sent in thy name letters unto all the people who [are] in Jerusalem, and unto Zephaniah son of Maaseiah the priest, and unto all the priests, saying,

26 Jehovah hat dich zum Priester gegeben anstatt des Priesters Jehojada, auf daß ihr sollt Aufseher sein des Hauses Jehovahs, über jeden Mann, der wahnsinnig ist und weissagen will, daß du ihn in Block und Stock legest.

Jehovah hath made thee priest instead of Jehoiada the priest, for there being inspectors of the house of Jehovah, for every one mad and making himself a prophet, and thou hast put him unto the torture and unto the stocks.

27 Und nun, warum hast du den Jirmejahu von Anathoth nicht bedroht, der euch weissagt?

And now, why hast thou not pushed against Jeremiah of Anathoth, who is making himself a prophet to you?

28 So hat er denn an uns nach Babel gesendet und gesagt: Es ist noch lange. Bauet Häuser und wohnet und pflanzet Gärten und esset ihre Frucht!

Because that he hath sent unto us to Babylon, saying, It [is] long, build ye houses, and abide; and plant ye gardens, and eat their fruit.'

29 Und Zephanjah, der Priester, las diesen Brief vor den Ohren Jirmejahus, des Propheten.

And Zephaniah the priest readeth this letter in the ears of Jeremiah the prophet.

30 Und es geschah das Wort Jehovahs an Jirmejahu, sprechend:

And there is a word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah, saying,

31 Sende an alle Weggeführten, sprechend: So spricht Jehovah zu Schemajah von Nechalam: Weil Schemajah euch geweissagt und Ich ihn nicht gesendet habe; und er euch auf Lüge vertrauen läßt,

'Send unto all the removal, saying, Thus said Jehovah concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite, Because that Shemaiah prophesied to you, and I — I have not sent him, and he doth cause you to trust on falsehood,

32 Darum spricht also Jehovah: Siehe, Ich suche heim Schemajah aus Nechalam und seinen Samen. Kein Mann sei ihm, der in der Mitte dieses Volkes wohne, und er soll nicht das Gute sehen, das Ich Meinem Volke tue, spricht Jehovah, weil er zum Abfall von Jehovah hat geredet.

Therefore, thus said Jehovah, Lo, I am seeing after Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and after his seed, he hath none dwelling in the midst of this people, nor doth he look on the good that I am doing to My people — an affirmation of Jehovah — for apostasy he hath spoken against Jehovah.'
