Jeremia 17
1 Die Sünde Jehudahs ist geschrieben mit eisernem Griffel, mit der Spitze des Demants auf die Tafel ihres Herzens und auf die Hörner eurer Altäre eingegraben.
The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond; it is graven upon the tablet of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars.
2 Gleichwie ihre Söhne gedenken ihrer Altäre und ihrer Ascheren bei grünem Baum auf den hohen Hügeln.
Like the symbols of their sons are their altars, and their Asherim are by the leafy trees, upon the high hills.
3 Mein Berg im Felde, dein Vermögen, all deine Schätze gebe Ich dem Raube hin, deine Opferhöhen, ob der Sünde in allen deinen Grenzen.
O thou that sittest upon the mountain in the field, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures for a spoil, and thy high places, because of sin, throughout all thy borders.
4 Und du wirst, und zwar von dir selbst, von deinem Erbe ablassen, das Ich dir gab, und Ich werde dich deinem Feinde dienen lassen in einem Land, das du nicht kennst; denn ihr habt in Meinem Zorn ein Feuer angefacht, das ewiglich wird lodern.
And thou, even of thyself, shalt discontinue from thy heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not; for ye have kindled a fire in My nostril, which shall burn for ever.
5 So spricht Jehovah: Verflucht der Mann, der auf den Menschen vertraut, und Fleisch zu seinem Arme setzt, und sein Herz abwendet von Jehovah;
Thus saith the LORD: Cursed is the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
6 Und wird sein wie ein bloßes Gesträuch in der Einöde, und nicht sehen, wenn Gutes kommt, und wird wohnen in versengten Orten in der Wüste in salzigem Land, da niemand wohnt.
For he shall be like a tamarisk in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, a salt land and not inhabited.
7 Gesegnet ist der Mann, der vertraut auf Jehovah und dessen Vertrauen Jehovah ist.
Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose trust the LORD is.
8 Und er ist wie der Baum, gepflanzt am Wasser, der seine Wurzeln ausstreckt an die Wasserleitung, und sieht es nicht, wenn die Hitze kommt. Sein Blatt ist grün, und hat nichts zu sorgen in dem Jahr der Dürre und läßt nicht ab, Frucht zu tragen.
For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out its roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but its foliage shall be luxuriant; and shall not be anxious in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
9 Hinterlistig ist das Herz über alles und ein verzweifelt Ding. Wer kennt es?
The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceeding weak — who can know it?
10 Ich, Jehovah, erforsche das Herz, Ich prüfe die Nieren, und gebe dem Mann nach seinen Wegen, nach der Frucht seines Tuns.
I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.
11 Ein Rebhuhn, das da sammelt, aber nicht legt, ist, wer Reichtum gewinnt nicht mit Recht. In der Hälfte seiner Tage wird er ihn verlassen, und zuletzt ist er ein Tor.
As the partridge that broodeth over young which she hath not brought forth, so is he that getteth riches, and not by right; in the midst of his days he shall leave them, and at his end he shall be a fool.
12 Der Thron der Herrlichkeit, die Höhe von Anbeginn ist der Ort unseres Heiligtums.
Thou throne of glory, on high from the beginning, thou place of our sanctuary,
13 Jehovah, Hoffnung Israels, alle, die Dich verlassen, werden beschämt, Abtrünnige müssen in die Erde geschrieben werden; denn sie haben den Born lebendiger Wasser, Jehovah, verlassen.
Thou hope of Israel, the LORD! All that forsake Thee shall be ashamed; they that depart from Thee shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.
14 Heile mich, Jehovah, so werde ich heil; rette Du mich, so bin ich gerettet; denn mein Lob bist Du!
Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved; for Thou art my praise.
15 Siehe, sie sprechen zu mir: Wo ist das Wort Jehovahs? O, so komme es doch!
Behold, they say unto me: 'Where is the word of the LORD? let it come now.'
16 Ich aber drängte mich nicht danach, daß ich nicht ein Hirte wäre hinter Dir her und ersehnte den Tag der Verzweiflung nicht. Du weißt es, was von meinen Lippen ausging, war vor Deinem Angesicht.
As for me, I have not hastened from being a shepherd after Thee; neither have I desired the woeful day; Thou knowest it; that which came out of my lips was manifest before Thee.
17 Sei Du mir nicht zum Entsetzen! Mein Verlaß bist Du am Tag des Übels.
Be not a ruin unto me; Thou art my refuge in the day of evil.
18 Laß sie sich schämen, die mich verfolgen, und lasse mich nicht beschämt werden. Laß sie sich entsetzen, aber ich sei nicht entsetzt. Bringe über sie den Tag des Übels und zerbrich sie mit zweifacher Zerbrechung!
Let them be ashamed that persecute me, but let not me be ashamed; Let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed; Bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.
19 Also sprach zu mir Jehovah: Gehe hin und stehe im Tor der Söhne des Volkes, durch das die Könige Jehudahs eingehen und durch das sie ausgehen, und in allen Toren Jerusalems.
Thus said the LORD unto me: Go, and stand in the gate of the children of the people, whereby the kings of Judah come in, and by which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem;
20 Und sprich zu ihnen: Höret das Wort Jehovahs, ihr Könige Jehudahs und ganz Jehudah und alle Bewohner Jerusalems, die zu diesen Toren eingehen!
and say unto them: Hear ye the word of the LORD, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates;
21 So spricht Jehovah: Hütet euch für eure Seelen und tragt keine Last am Tage des Sabbaths, daß ihr sie einbringt durch die Tore Jerusalems.
thus saith the LORD: Take heed for the sake of your souls, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem;
22 Und bringt keine Last aus euren Häusern am Tage des Sabbaths und tut keine Arbeit und heiligt den Tag des Sabbaths, wie Ich geboten habe euren Vätern.
neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work; but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers;
23 Und sie hörten nicht und neigten nicht ihr Ohr und sie verhärteten ihren Nacken, daß sie nicht hörten und keine Zucht annahmen.
but they hearkened not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.
24 Und es soll geschehen, so ihr hört auf Mich, spricht Jehovah, daß ihr keine Last einbringt zu den Toren dieser Stadt am Tage des Sabbaths und heiligt den Tag des Sabbaths, daß ihr an ihm keine Arbeit tut:
And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken unto Me, saith the LORD, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but to hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein;
25 Dann sollen Könige und Oberste, sitzend auf Davids Thron, eingehen zu den Toren dieser Stadt, fahrend auf Streitwagen und auf Rossen, sie und ihre Obersten, der Mann Jehudahs und Jerusalems Bewohner, und diese Stadt soll ewiglich bewohnt werden.
then shall there enter in by the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and this city shall be inhabited for ever.
26 Und sollen kommen die aus den Städten Jehudahs und den Umgebungen Jerusalems, und aus dem Lande Benjamins und aus der Niederung und vom Gebirge und vom Mittag, und hereinbringen Brandopfer und Schlachtopfer und Speiseopfer und Weihrauch, und bringen herein Dankopfer zum Haus Jehovahs.
And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places round about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the Lowland, and from the mountains, and from the South, bringing burnt-offerings, and sacrifices, and meal-offerings, and frankincense, and bringing sacrifices of thanksgiving, unto the house of the LORD.
27 Und wenn ihr nicht auf Mich hört, daß ihr den Tag des Sabbaths heiligt, und keine Last tragt und damit eingeht zu den Toren Jerusalems am Tage des Sabbaths, so will Ich ein Feuer anzünden in seinen Toren, und es wird die Paläste Jerusalems auffressen, und nicht erlöschen.
But if ye will not hearken unto Me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden and enter in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.
