Jakobus 1
1 Jakobus, ein Knecht Gottes und des Herrn Jesu Christi, entbietet den zwölf Stämmen in der Zerstreuung seinen Gruß.
JAKUB, a servant of Aloha and of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha, unto the twelve tribes who are dispersed among the nations: Peace.
2 Achtet es, meine Brüder, für eitel Freude, wenn ihr in mancherlei Anfechtungen fallet,
All joy shall be to you, my brethren, when you shall have entered into temptations many and various.
3 Und wisset, daß die Prüfung eures Glaubens Standhaftigkeit bewirkt.
For you know that the proving of faith maketh you to possess patience;
4 Standhaftigkeit aber soll ihr Werk vollkommen machen, auf daß ihr seid vollkommen und vollendet, und es an nichts fehlen lasset.
but to patience let there be a perfect work, that you may be complete and perfected, and in nothing be deficient.
5 So aber einem unter euch an Weisheit gebricht, so bitte er Gott darum, Der da einfältig jedem gibt und keinem es aufrückt, so wird sie ihm gegeben werden.
If any of you be deficient in wisdom, let him ask of Aloha, who giveth to all expansively, and upbraideth not, and it is given to him.
6 Er bitte aber im Glauben und zweifle nicht; denn der, so da zweifelt, gleicht der Meereswoge, die, vom Winde ergriffen, hinund hergeworfen wird.
But let him ask in faith, not wavering. For he who wavereth is like the waves of the sea which the wind disturbeth.
7 Ein solcher Mensch wähne ja nicht, daß er etwas vom Herrn empfangen werde.
And let not that man expect to receive any thing from the Lord,
8 Ein wankelmütiger Mensch ist unbeständig auf allen seinen Wegen.
who is divided in his mind, and disturbed in all his ways.
9 Der niedrige Bruder aber rühme sich seiner Hoheit,
But let the humble brother glory in his exaltation,
10 Und der Reiche rühme sich seiner Niedrigkeit; denn wie die Blume des Grases wird er vergehen.
and the rich in his humility; for as the flower of an herb, so he passeth.
11 Die Sonne geht auf mit ihrer Glut und dörrt das Gras, und seine Blume fällt ab, und mit ihrer Pracht ist es zu Ende; also vergeht auch der Reiche mitten in seinem Treiben.
For the sun ariseth in his heat, and drieth the herb, and the flower of it falleth, and the beauty of its appearance perisheth; so also the rich withereth in his reverses.
12 Glücklich ist der Mann, der in der Versuchung aushält; denn wenn er sich bewährt, empfängt er den Siegeskranz des Lebens, den der Herr denen, die Ihn lieben, verheißen hat.
Blessed the man who endureth temptations: for when he hath been proved he shall receive the crown of life, which Aloha hath promised unto them who love him.
13 Niemand sage, wenn er versucht wird, daß er von Gott versucht werde; denn Gott wird nicht versucht vom Bösen, und versucht auch Selber niemand.
Let no man say, when he is tempted, From Aloha I am tempted; for Aloha is not tempted with evils, and he no man tempteth.
14 Sondern ein jeglicher wird versucht, wenn er von seiner eigenen Lust fortgerissen und verlockt wird.
But each man from his concupiscence tempteth himself, and desireth, and is drawn away.
15 Danach, wenn die Lust empfangen hat, gebiert sie die Sünde, die Sünde aber, wenn sie vollendet ist, gebiert den Tod.
And this desire conceiveth and beareth sin; and sin, when it is perfected, beareth death.
16 Irrt euch nicht, geliebte Brüder!
Do not err, my beloved brethren;
17 Alle gute Gabe und alle vollkommene Gabe kommt von oben herab vom Vater der Lichter, bei Dem ist keine Wandlung, noch wechselnde Beschattung.
every good gift and perfect from above descendeth, from the Father of lights, with whom is no alteration, nor the shadow of vicissitude.
18 Aus freiem Ratschluß hat Er uns durch das Wort der Wahrheit geboren, auf daß wir wären Erstlinge Seiner Geschöpfe.
He willed, and begat us by the word of truth, that we might be the first-ones of his creatures.
19 Darum, geliebte Brüder, sei jeder Mensch schnell zum Hören, langsam aber zum Reden, langsam zum Zorn.
And you, my beloved brethren, let every one of you be swift to hear, and slow to speak, and slow to be angry;
20 Denn des Menschen Zorn tut nicht, was vor Gott recht ist.
for the wrath of man the righteousness of Aloha worketh not.
21 Darum legt ab alle Unsauberkeit und allen Auswuchs der Bosheit, und nehmt in Sanftmut auf die euch eingepflanzte Lehre, die eure Seelen retten kann.
Wherefore, remove from you all impurity and the abounding of wickedness, and with meekness receive the word which is engrafted in our nature, which is able to save your souls.
22 Seid aber Täter des Wortes und nicht Hörer allein, womit ihr euch selbst betrügt.
BUT be doers of the word, and not hearers only, neither deceive yourselves.
23 Denn so jemand das Wort hört und nicht tut, gleicht er einem Manne, der sein leiblich Angesicht im Spiegel beschaut.
For if a man be a hearer of the word and not a doer of it, this (man) is like one who vieweth his face in a mirror;
24 Denn nachdem er sich beschaut hat, geht er davon, und vergißt alsbald, wie er aussah.
for he seeth himself and passeth, and hath forgotten what (manner of person) he was.
25 Wer aber in das vollkommene Gesetz der Freiheit hineingeschaut und dabei beharrt hat, und kein vergeßlicher Hörer, sondern ein wirklicher Täter geworden ist, der wird selig durch sein Tun.
But every one who looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he is not a hearer of the hearing of forgetfulness, but a doer of works; and this shall be blessed in his work.
26 So aber einer sich dünkt gottesfürchtig zu sein und hält seine Zunge nicht im Zaum, sondern täuscht sich über sein Herz, dessen Gottesfurcht ist eitel.
And if a man thinketh that he serveth Aloha, and holdeth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, of this man his service is vain.
27 Eine reine und unbefleckte Gottesfurcht ist vor Gott dem Vater die, daß man die Waisen und Witwen in ihrer Trübsal heimsucht, und sich unbefleckt von der Welt erhält.
For the service which is pure and true before Aloha the Father, is this, to visit the orphans and widows in their afflictions, and that a man keep himself from the world without blemish.
