Jesaja 26
1 An jenem Tage wird im Lande Jehudahs dies Lied gesungen: Wir haben eine starke Stadt. Zum Heile stellet Er Mauern und Vormauer.
In that day sung is this song in the land of Judah: 'We have a strong city, Salvation He doth make walls and bulwark.
2 Öffnet die Tore, daß einziehe eine gerechte Völkerschaft, welche die Treue hält;
Open ye the gates, that enter may a righteous nation, Preserving stedfastness.
3 Dem stetigen Gemüte bewahrst Du Frieden, den Frieden; denn es vertraut auf Dich.
An imagination supported Thou fortifiest peace — peace! For in Thee it is confident.
4 Vertrauet auf Jehovah fort und fort, denn in Jah Jehovah ist der Fels der Ewigkeiten.
Trust ye in Jehovah for ever, For in Jah Jehovah [is] a rock of ages,
5 Denn Er beugt, die in der Höhe wohnen; die emporragende Stadt niedrigt Er; Er niedrigt sie bis zur Erde, bringt sie nieder bis in den Staub.
For He bowed down the dwellers on high, A city set on high He maketh low, He maketh it low unto the earth, He causeth it to come unto the dust,
6 Der Fuß zerstampft sie, die Füße des Elenden, die Fußtritte des Armen.
Tread it down doth a foot, Feet of the poor — steps of the weak.
7 Gerade ist des Gerechten Pfad; gerade ebnest Du das Geleise des Gerechten.
The path for the righteous [is] uprightness, O upright One, The path of the righteous Thou dost ponder.
8 Auch auf dem Pfade Deiner Gerichte, o Jehovah, haben wir auf Dich gehofft, nach Deinem Namen und nach Deinem Gedächtnis ist der Seele Sehnen.
Also, [in] the path of Thy judgments, O Jehovah, we have waited [for] Thee, To Thy name and to Thy remembrance [Is] the desire of the soul.
9 Nach Dir sehnt sich meine Seele in der Nacht, auch sucht nach Dir mein Geist in meinem Inneren in der Frühe; denn wie Deine Gerichte auf der Erde, lernen Gerechtigkeit, die in der Welt wohnen.
[With] my soul I desired Thee in the night, Also, [with] my spirit within me I seek Thee earnestly, For when Thy judgments [are] on the earth, The inhabitants of the world have learned righteousness.
10 Begnadigt man den Ungerechten, so lernt er nicht Gerechtigkeit. Im Land der Nichtigkeit tut er Verkehrtheit und sieht nicht die Hoheit Jehovahs.
The wicked findeth favour, He hath not learned righteousness, In a land of straightforwardness he dealeth perversely, And seeth not the excellency of Jehovah.
11 Erhöht ist, Jehovah, Deine Hand, sie erschauen es nicht. Sie werden es erschauen und sich schämen ob dem Eifer des Volkes; ja, Feuer fresse sie, Deine Dränger.
O Jehovah, high [is] Thy hand — they see not, They see the zeal of the people, and are ashamed, Also, the fire — Thine adversaries, consumeth them.
12 Jehovah, Du bestellst Frieden für uns; denn auch alles unser Tun hast Du für uns gewirkt.
O Jehovah, Thou appointest peace to us, For, all our works also Thou hast wrought for us.
13 Jehovah, unser Gott, gemustert haben uns Herren außer Dir, in Dir allein gedenken wir Deines Namens.
O Jehovah our God, lords have ruled us besides Thee, Only, by Thee we make mention of Thy name.
14 Die Toten leben nicht auf, die Rephaim erstehen nicht, weil Du sie heimsuchtest, sie vernichtetest, und lässest verzehren all ihr Gedächtnis.
Dead — they live not, Rephaim, they rise not, Therefore Thou hast inspected and dost destroy them, Yea, thou destroyest all their memory.
15 Hinzugetan hast Du, Jehovah, zu der Völkerschaft, hinzugetan zu der Völkerschaft, Du wardst verherrlicht, all des Landes Enden hast Du fern gemacht.
Thou hast added to the nation, O Jehovah, Thou hast added to the nation, Thou hast been honoured, Thou hast put far off all the ends of earth.
16 Jehovah, in der Bedrängnis suchten sie Dich, gossen ihr Flüstern aus, als Du sie züchtigtest.
O Jehovah, in distress they missed Thee, They have poured out a whisper, Thy chastisement [is] on them.
17 Wie einer Schwangeren, wenn es nahet, daß sie gebären soll: sie kreißet, schreit in ihren Geburtsnöten, also waren wir vor Deinem Angesichte, o Jehovah.
When a pregnant woman cometh near to the birth, She is pained — she crieth in her pangs, So we have been from Thy face, O Jehovah.
18 Wir empfingen, wir kreißten und gebaren gleich wie Wind; doch kein Heil taten wir dem Land, und die Bewohner des Erdkreises fielen nicht.
We have conceived, we have been pained. We have brought forth as it were wind, Salvation we do not work in the earth, Nor do the inhabitants of the world fall.
19 Es werden leben Deine Toten, auferstehen mein Leichnam; erwachet und jubelt ihr Bewohner des Staubes; denn ein Tau der Pflanzen ist Dein Tau, aber das Land der Rephaim stürzest Du hinab.
'Thy dead live — My dead body they rise. Awake and sing, ye dwellers in the dust, For the dew of herbs [is] thy dew, And the land of Rephaim thou causest to fall.
20 Gehe hin, mein Volk, gehe hinein in deine Kammern, schließ deine Türe hinter dir, verstecke dich einen kleinen Augenblick, bis daß der Unwille vorüber ist.
Come, My people, enter into thy inner chambers, And shut thy doors behind thee, Hide thyself shortly a moment till the indignation pass over.
21 Denn siehe, Jehovah geht aus von seinem Orte, daß Er die Missetat der Bewohner der Erde heimsuche; und die Erde wird ihr Blut aufdecken und nicht mehr bedecken ihre Erwürgten.
For, lo, Jehovah is coming out of His place, To charge the iniquity of the inhabitant of the earth upon him, And revealed hath the earth her blood, Nor doth she cover any more her slain!'
