Hosea 8
1 An deinen Gaumen die Posaune! Wie ein Adler über das Haus des Jehovah! Weil sie Meinen Bund übertreten und von Meinem Gesetz abgefallen sind.
[SET] the trumpet to thy mouth. As an eagle [he cometh] against the house of the LORD: because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.
2 Sie werden schreien zu Mir: Mein Gott! Wir, Israel, erkennen Dich.
They shall cry unto me, My God, we Israel know thee.
3 Das Gute hat Israel verworfen! Der Feind setze ihm nach!
Israel hath cast off that which is good: the enemy shall pursue him.
4 Ohne Mich machten sie Könige, und Oberste, ohne daß Ich es wußte. Ihr Silber und ihr Gold machten sie sich zu Götzenbildern, auf daß Er ausgerottet werde.
They have set up kings, but not by me; they have made princes, and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
5 Dein Kalb, Samaria, verwirft dich, Mein Zorn entbrennt wider sie. Wie lange vermögen sie nicht, sich unsträflich zu halten?
He hath cast off thy calf, O Samaria; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will it be ere they attain to innocency?
6 Denn aus Israel ist es, und er, der Werkmann, hat es gemacht, und kein Gott ist es. Zu Stücken wird das Kalb Samariens.
For from Israel is even this; the workman made it, and it is no God: yea, the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.
7 Denn Wind säen sie, und Sturmwind ernten sie. Eine Saat hat er nicht, und was da sproßt, gibt kein Mehl, gäbe es vielleicht, so verschlingen es die Fremden.
For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: he hath no standing corn; the blade shall yield no meal; if so be it yield, strangers shall swallow it up.
8 Verschlungen ist Israel; nun sind sie unter den Völkerschaften wie ein Gefäß, an dem man keine Lust hat;
Israel is swallowed up: now are they among the nations as a vessel wherein is no pleasure.
9 Weil sie hinaufzogen nach Aschur, ein Waldesel, einsam für sich. Ephraim dingt sich Liebschaften.
For they are gone up to Assyria, [like] a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath hired lovers.
10 Obgleich sie dingten unter den Völkerschaften, nun bringe Ich sie zusammen, und sie sollen zusammenbringen, und sie sollen anfangen sich zu mindern unter der Last des Königs der Obersten.
Yea, though they hire among the nations, now will I gather them; and they begin to be minished by reason of the burden of the king of princes.
11 Denn Ephraim mehrte die Altäre zur Sünde; zur Sünde sind ihm die Altäre geworden.
Because Ephraim hath multiplied altars to sin, altars have been unto him to sin.
12 Schrieb Ich ihm viele Meiner Gesetze, wie fremd wurden sie geachtet.
Though I write for him my law in ten thousand [precepts], they are counted as a strange thing.
13 Als Schlachtopfer opfern sie Mir Gaben des Fleisches, und essen es. Jehovah hat daran kein Gefallen. Er gedenkt nun ihrer Missetat, und sucht heim ihre Sünden. Sie möchten nach Ägypten zurückkehren.
As for the sacrifices of mine offerings, they sacrifice flesh and eat it; but the LORD accepteth them not: now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins; they shall return to Egypt.
14 Und Israel vergißt Dessen, Der ihn gemacht, und baut Tempel, und Jehudah mehrt die festen Städte; Ich aber will Feuer in ihre Städte senden, und es soll seine Paläste auffressen.
For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and builded palaces; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the castles thereof.
