Hosea 11
1 Als Israel jung war, liebte Ich ihn, und aus Ägypten rief Ich Meinen Sohn.
When Israel was yet young, then I loved him, and out of Egypt did I call my son.
2 So man ihnen jetzt ruft, so gehen sie fort von ihrem Angesicht, opfern den Baalen und räuchern den Schnitzbildern.
The [prophets] called them; but the more they went from them: unto the Be'alim would they sacrifice, and to the graven images would they burn incense.
3 Ich gängelte Ephraim. Er nahm sie auf Seine Arme. Aber sie wußten nicht, daß Ich sie heilte.
Yet I myself appointed a leader for Ephraim, who took them up in his arms; but they would not acknowledge that I healed them.
4 Mit Stricken des Menschen zog Ich sie, mit Seilen der Liebe, und ward ihnen wie einer, der das Joch emporhebt über ihre Kinnbacken, und reichte ihm zu essen.
With human cords I ever drew them forward, with leading-strings of love: and I was to them as those that lift off the yoke from their jaws, and I held out unto them food.
5 Nicht sollte er zurück nach dem Lande Ägypten kehren; und Aschur, der ist sein König, weil sie sich weigerten, zurückzukehren.
He should not return unto the land of Egypt: yet [now] is the Assyrian his king; because they refused to repent.
6 Und kreisen wird das Schwert in seinen Städten und verzehren seine Riegel und auffressen wegen ihrer Ratschläge.
And the sword shall fall on his cities, and shall make an end of his boughs, and consume them, because of their [evil] counsels.
7 Und Mein Volk ist es müde, zu Mir zurückzukehren. Rufen sie ihm aufwärts, so richtet sich keiner empor.
For my people are only bent on backsliding from me; and though upward they call them, they altogether will not elevate themselves.
8 Wie soll Ich dich dahingeben, Ephraim? Soll Ich dich hinliefern, Israel? Soll Ich dich hingeben wie Adamah, dich setzen wie Zeboim? Mein Herz kehrt sich um in Mir; allzumal ist Meine Reue entbrannt.
How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I surrender thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I change thee as Zeboyim? turned is my heart within me, all my compassion is enkindled together.
9 Nicht will Ich tun nach Meines Zornes Entbrennen; will nicht zurückkehren, Ephraim zu verderben; denn ein Gott bin Ich, und nicht ein Mann. In deiner Mitte ist der Heilige; nicht will Ich kommen in die Stadt.
I will not execute the fierceness of my anger, I will not again destroy Ephraim; for God am I, and not man, the Holy One in the midst of thee, and I will not come with an enemy's hatred.
10 Jehovah nach werden sie gehen. Wie ein Löwe wird Er brüllen. Weil Er brüllt, werden die Söhne vom Meere einherzittern.
They shall follow after the Lord, when he will roar like a lion; for he will roar, and the children shall hasten together from the west;
11 Einherzittern werden sie wie die Vögel aus Ägypten und wie die Taube aus dem Lande Aschur; und Ich werde sie wohnen lassen in ihren Häusern, spricht Jehovah.
They shall hasten together as birds out of Egypt, and as doves out of the land of Assyria: and I will cause them to dwell in their houses, saith the Lord.
12 Umgeben hat Mich Ephraim mit Vorstellung, und mit Trug das Haus Israel; aber Jehudah herrscht noch mit Gott, und getreu mit den Heiligen.
With lies hath Ephraim encompassed me about, and with deceit, the house of Israel; but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful to the Holy One.
