1 Mose 16

1 Und Sarai, Abrams Weib, gebar ihm nicht. Sie hatte aber eine ägyptische Dienstmagd und ihr Name war Hagar.

Nowe Sarai Abrams wife bare him no children, and she had a maide an Egyptian, Hagar by name.

2 Und Sarai sprach zu Abram: Siehe doch, Jehovah hat mich vom Gebären zurückgehalten; so gehe doch ein zu meiner Dienstmagd, vielleicht werde ich durch sie aufgebaut. Und Abram hörte auf Sarais Stimme.

And Sarai said vnto Abram, Beholde now, the Lord hath restrained me from childe bearing. I pray thee goe in vnto my maide: it may be that I shall receiue a childe by her. And Abram obeyed the voyce of Sarai.

3 Und Sarai, Abrams Weib, nachdem zehn Jahre zu Ende waren, seit Abram im Lande Kanaan wohnte, nahm die Ägypterin Hagar, ihre Dienstmagd, und gab sie ihrem Manne Abram ihm zum Weibe.

Then Sarai Abrams wife tooke Hagar her maide the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelled ten yeere in the land of Canaan, and gaue her to her husband Abram for his wife.

4 Und er ging ein zu Hagar und sie empfing; und da sie sah, daß sie empfangen hatte, ward ihre Gebieterin gering in ihren Augen.

And he went in vnto Hagar, and she conceiued. and when she sawe that she had conceiued, her dame was despised in her eyes.

5 Und Sarai sprach zu Abram: Mein Unrecht sei auf dir! Ich gab dir meine Dienstmagd an deinen Busen. Und sie sieht, daß sie empfangen hat, und ich werde gering in ihren Augen. Jehovah richte zwischen mir und dir!

Then Sarai saide to Abram, Thou doest me wrong. I haue giuen my maide into thy bosome, and she seeth that she hath conceiued, and I am despised in her eyes: the Lord iudge betweene me and thee.

6 Abram aber sprach zu Sarai: Siehe, deine Dienstmagd ist in deiner Hand, tue ihr, was gut in deinen Augen ist. Und Sarai demütigte sie, und sie floh vor ihrem Angesicht.

Then Abram saide to Sarai, Beholde, thy maide is in thine hand: doe with her as it pleaseth thee. Then Sarai dealt roughly with her: wherefore she fled from her.

7 Und der Engel Jehovahs fand sie in der Wüste an einer Wasserquelle; an der Quelle am Wege nach Schur.

But the Angel of the Lord founde her beside a fountaine of water in the wildernesse by the fountaine in the way to Shur,

8 Und Er sprach: Hagar, Sarais Dienstmagd, woher kommst du und wohin gehst du? Und sie sprach: Vor meiner Gebieterin Sarai fliehe ich.

And he saide, Hagar Sarais maide, whence commest thou? and whither wilt thou goe? And she said, I flie from my dame Sarai.

9 Und Jehovahs Engel sprach zu ihr: Kehre zurück zu deiner Gebieterin und demütige dich unter ihre Hände.

Then the Angel of the Lord saide to her, Returne to thy dame, and humble thy selfe vnder her hands.

10 Und der Engel Jehovahs sprach zu ihr: Mehren will Ich deinen Samen und er wird vor Menge nicht gezählt werden.

Againe the Angel of the Lord saide vnto her, I will so greatly increase thy seede, that it shall not be numbred for multitude.

11 Und der Engel Jehovahs sprach zu ihr: Siehe, du hast empfangen und gebierst einen Sohn, und sollst seinen Namen Ismael nennen, darum, daß Jehovah auf dein Elend gehört hat.

Also the Angel of the Lord said vnto her, See, thou art with childe, and shalt beare a sonne, and shalt call his name Ishmael: for the Lord hath heard thy tribulation.

12 Und er wird ein Waldesel-Mensch sein, seine Hand wider alle, und die Hand aller wider ihn; und wird wohnen wider aller seiner Brüder Angesicht.

And he shalbe a wilde man: his hande shall be against euery man, and euery mans hand against him. and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.

13 Und sie nannte den Namen Jehovahs, Der mit ihr redete: Du bist der Gott, Der mich siehet; denn sie sprach: Hab ich auch hier gesehen, nach Dem, Der mich gesehen?

Then she called the name of the Lord, that spake vnto her, Thou God lookest on me: for she said, Haue I not also here looked after him that seeth me?

14 Daher nannte man den Brunnen: Brunnen Lachai Roi. Siehe, er ist zwischen Kadesch und zwischen Bared.

Wherefore the well was called, Beerlahai-roi. lo, it is betweene Kadesh and Bered.

15 Und Hagar gebar dem Abram einen Sohn, und Abram nannte den Namen seines Sohnes, den Hagar geboren, Ismael.

And Hagar bare Abram a sonne, and Abram called his sonnes name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael.

16 Und Abram war achtzig Jahre und sechs Jahre alt, da Hagar den Ismael dem Abram gebar.

And Abram was foure score and sixe yeere olde, when Hagar bare him Ishmael.
