Hesekiel 23

1 Und es geschah das Wort Jehovahs zu mir, sprechend:

The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

2 Menschensohn, es waren zwei Weiber, Töchter einer Mutter,

“Son of man, there were two women, daughters of the same mother.

3 Und sie buhlten in Ägypten, in ihrer Jugend buhlten sie, ließen dort drücken ihre Brüste, und sie betasteten die Zitzen ihrer Jungfrauschaft.

They acted as prostitutes in Egypt in the time of their youth. They acted as prostitutes there. Their breasts were squeezed and their virgin nipples were fondled there.

4 Und dies sind ihre Namen: Oholah, die große, und ihre Schwester Oholibah; und sie wurden Mein, und gebaren Söhne und Töchter; und ihre Namen: Samaria ist Oholah, und Jerusalem Oholibah.

Their names were Oholah—the older sister—and Oholibah—her younger sister. Then they became mine and bore sons and daughters. Their names mean this: Oholah means Samaria, and Oholibah means Jerusalem.

5 Und Oholah buhlte neben Mir, und es lüstete sie nach ihren Liebhabern, nach denen von Aschur, die nahe waren,

But Oholah acted as a prostitute even when she was mine; she lusted for her lovers, for the Assyrians who were dominant,

6 Die sich in blauen Purpur kleideten, Statthalter und Landvögte, Jünglinge, allesamt begehrenswert, Reiter, die auf Rossen reiten.

the governor who wore blue, and for his officials, who were strong and handsome, all of them men riding on horses.

7 Und sie gab ihre Buhlereien über sie, die Auswahl der Söhne Aschurs allesamt, und verunreinigte sich mit allen, nach denen sie es lüstete, mit allen ihren Götzen.

So she gave herself as a prostitute to them, to all the best of Assyria's men, and she made herself unclean with everyone she lusted for—and with all their idols.

8 Und ihre Buhlerei von Ägypten her verließ sie nicht, denn in ihrer Jugend lagen sie bei ihr, die Zitzen ihrer Jungfrauschaft betasteten sie, und ergossen ihre Buhlereien über sie.

For she had not left her prostitute behavior behind in Egypt, when they had slept with her when she had been a young girl, when they first began to fondle her virgin breasts, when they first began to pour out their promiscuous behavior on her.

9 Darum gab Ich sie in ihrer Liebhaber Hand, in die Hand der Söhne Aschurs, nach denen sie es lüstete.

Therefore I gave her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians for whom she lusted.

10 Sie deckten ihre Blöße auf, sie nahmen ihre Söhne und ihre Töchter, sie aber erwürgten sie mit dem Schwerte, und ihr Name unter den Weibern, daß sie Gericht gehalten über sie.

They uncovered her nakedness, took her sons and daughters, killed her with the sword, and she became notorious among other women, so they executed judgment on her.

11 Und ihre Schwester Oholibah, sah es, und ihre Wollust war verderblicher denn die ihrige, und ihre Buhlereien denn die Buhlereien ihrer Schwester.

Her sister Oholibah saw this, but she lusted even more passionately and acted like a prostitute even more than her sister.

12 Sie lüstete nach Aschurs Söhnen, Statthaltern und Landvögten, die nahe waren, prächtig angetan, Reiter, die auf Rossen ritten, begehrenswerte Jünglinge allesamt.

She lusted for the Assyrians, the governors and the dominating officials who dressed impressively, who were men riding horses. All of them were strong, handsome men.

13 Und Ich sah, daß sie sich verunreinigte, einen Weg für sie beide.

I saw that she had made herself unclean. It was the same for both sisters.

14 Und sie tat hinzu zu ihren Buhlereien und sah Männer an die Wand gemalt, die Bilder der Chaldäer mit Mennigrot gemalt,

Then she increased her prostitution even more. She saw men carved on walls, figures of Chaldeans painted in red,

15 Umgürtet mit dem Gurt um ihre Lenden, mit überhängenden Turbanen auf ihren Häuptern, sie alle anzusehen wie Kriegshäuptlinge, nach der Ähnlichkeit der Söhne Babels, der Chaldäer, im Land ihrer Geburt;

wearing belts around their waists, with flowing turbans on their heads. All of them had the appearance of officers of chariot troops, the likeness of sons of Babylonia, whose native land is Chaldea.

16 Und sie lüstete nach ihnen nach den Ansehen ihrer Augen und sandte Boten zu ihnen nach Chaldäa.

As soon as her eyes saw them, she lusted for them, so she sent out messengers to them in Chaldea.

17 Und zu ihr kamen Babels Söhne zum Liebeslager, und sie verunreinigten sie mit ihrer Buhlerei, und sie verunreinigte sich mit ihnen, bis ihre Seele sich von ihnen abneigte.

Then the Babylonians came to her and to her bed of lust, and they made her unclean with their promiscuousness. By what she had done she was made unclean, so she turned herself away from them in disgust.

18 Und sie hatte ihre Buhlereien aufgedeckt und aufgedeckt ihre Blöße, und Meine Seele ward ihr abgeneigt, wie Meine Seele sich von ihrer Schwester abgeneigt hatte.

When she displayed her acts of prostitution and uncovered her nakedness, I turned away from her, just as I had turned away in disgust from her sister.

19 Und sie mehrte ihre Buhlereien, daß an die Tage ihrer Jugend sie gedachte, da sie im Land Ägypten gebuhlt hatte,

Then she increased her prostitution as she remembered the days of her youth, when she was a prostitute in the land of Egypt.

20 Und sie lüstete nach ihren Kebsmännern, deren Fleisch das Fleisch der Esel und deren Erguß der Hengste Erguß ist.

So she lusted for her lovers, whose private parts were like those of donkeys, and whose reproductive emissions were like those of horses.

21 Und du sahst dich nach deiner Jugend Unzucht um, da man in Ägypten deine Zitzen betastete, um deiner Jugend Brüste willen.

This is how you committed shameful acts of your youth, when the Egyptians fondled your nipples and squeezed your young breasts.

22 Darum, Oholibah, so spricht der Herr Jehovah, siehe, Ich errege deine Liebhaber wider dich, von denen deine Seele sich abgeneigt hatte, und bringe sie ringsum wider dich herbei.

Therefore, Oholibah, the Lord Yahweh says this, 'Behold! I will turn your lovers against you. Those from whom you turned away, I will bring them against you from every side:

23 Die Söhne Babels und alle Chaldäer, Pekod und Schoa und Koa, alle Söhne Aschurs mit ihnen, begehrenswerte Jünglinge, Statthalter und Landvögte allesamt, Kriegshäuptlinge und Aufgerufene, reitend auf Rossen allzumal,

the Babylonians and all the Chaldeans, Pekod, Shoa, and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them, strong, handsome men, governors and commanders, all of them are officers and men of reputation, all of them riding on horses.

24 Und sie kommen wider dich mit Rasseln der Streitwagen und Räder, und mit einer Versammlung von Völkern, sie richten Schild und Tartsche und Helm ringsumher wider dich, und vor sie gebe Ich das Gericht, daß sie dich nach ihren Rechten richten,

They will come against you with weapons, and with chariots and wagons, and with a great crowd of people. They will set large shields, small shields, and helmets against you all around. I will give them the opportunity to punish you, and they will punish you with their actions.

25 Und setze Meinen Eifer wider dich, daß sie mit dir tun im Grimm, dir Nase und Ohren abschneiden, und was noch von dir nachkommt, falle durch das Schwert. Sie sollen deine Söhne und Töchter nehmen, und was nachkommt von dir, [soll] vom Feuer gefressen werden.

For I will set my jealous anger on you, and they will deal with you in fury. They will cut off your noses and your ears, and your survivors will fall by the sword. They will take away your sons and your daughters, and your survivors will be devoured by fire.

26 Sie sollen deine Kleider dir ausziehen und nehmen deines Schmuckes Geräte.

They will strip you of your clothes and take away all of your jewelry.

27 Und Ich lasse zu Ende kommen von dir deine Unzucht und deine Buhlerei vom Land Ägypten her, daß nimmer zu ihnen deine Augen du erhebst und Ägyptens nicht mehr gedenkst.

So I will remove your shameful behavior from you and your acts of prostitution from the land of Egypt. You will not lift up your eyes toward them with longing, and you will think of Egypt no longer.'

28 Denn also spricht der Herr Jehovah: Siehe, Ich gebe dich in die Hand dessen, den du haßtest, in dessen Hand, von dem sich deine Seele abgeneigt hatte.

For the Lord Yahweh says this, 'Behold! I will give you into the hand of the ones you hate, back into the hand of the ones from whom you had turned away.

29 Daß sie im Haß mit dir handeln, und dir all dein Erarbeitetes nehmen, und nackt und bloß dich lassen, daß die Blöße deiner Buhlereien und deine Unzucht und deine Buhlereien aufgedeckt werden.

They will deal with you hatefully; they will take all your possessions and abandon you naked and bare, and your nakedness will be uncovered just as when you engaged in promiscuity and prostitutions.

30 Solches geschieht dir, weil du den Völkerschaften nachgebuhlt, daß mit ihren Götzen du dich verunreinigt hast.

These things will be done to you in your acting like a prostitute, lusting after nations by which you became unclean with their idols.

31 Auf deiner Schwester Weg bist du gegangen, und ihren Becher gebe Ich in deine Hand.

You have walked in the way of your sister, so I will put her cup of punishment into your hand.'

32 So spricht der Herr Jehovah: Deiner Schwester Becher sollst du trinken, den tiefen und weiten, sollst zum Gelächter und Hohne werden - er fasset viel.

The Lord Yahweh says this, 'You will drink your sister's cup that is deep and large. You will become a laughingstock and a subject for derision—this cup contains a great amount.

33 Voll Trunkenheit und Grames sollst du werden: denn ein Becher der Verwüstung und Wüstenei ist der Becher deiner Schwester Schomron.

You will be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, the cup of horror and devastation; the cup of your sister Samaria.

34 Und sollst ihn trinken und ausdrücken und seine Scherben zermalmen und dein Brüste damit zerreißen; denn Ich habe es geredet, spricht der Herr Jehovah.

You will drink it and drain it empty; then you will shatter it and tear your breasts with the pieces. For I have declared it—this is the Lord Yahweh's declaration.'

35 Darum spricht also der Herr Jehovah: Weil du Mein vergessen und hinter deinen Rücken Mich geworfen hast, so trage denn auch deine Unzucht und deine Buhlereien.

Therefore, the Lord Yahweh says this, 'Because you have forgotten me and thrown me away behind your back, so also you will bear the consequences of your shameful behavior and acts of sexual immorality.'”

36 Und Jehovah sprach zu mir: Menschensohn, willst du Oholah und Oholibah richten und ihnen ihre Greuel ansagen?

Yahweh said to me, “Son of man, will you judge Oholah and Oholibah? So present to them their disgusting actions,

37 Wie Ehebruch sie trieben und Blut an ihren Händen haben, und durch ihre Götzen sie die Ehe brachen, und auch ihre Söhne, die sie Mir geboren, ihnen zur Speise hindurchführten.

since they have committed adultery, and since there is blood on their hands. They have committed adultery with their idols, and they have even caused their sons to pass through the fire, as food for their idols.

38 Noch taten sie Mir dies: Mein Heiligtum verunreinigten sie an jenem Tage und entweihten Meine Sabbathe,

Then they continue to do this to me: They make my sanctuary unclean, and on the same day they defile my Sabbaths.

39 Und damit, daß sie ihre Söhne ihren Götzen schlachteten, und an selbem Tage kamen in Mein Heiligtum, es zu entweihen. Und siehe, so taten sie inmitten Meines Hauses.

For when they had slaughtered their children for their idols, then they came to my sanctuary on the same day to defile it! So behold! This is what they have done in the middle of my house.

40 Und sie sandten auch an Männer, die aus der Ferne kommen sollten, an die ein Bote ward gesandt, und siehe, sie kamen, du hast dich für sie gebadet, deine Augen geschminkt und mit deinem Geschmeide geschmückt,

You sent out for men who came from far away, to whom messengers had been sent—now behold. They indeed came, those for whom you bathed, painted your eyes, and adorned yourself with jewelry.

41 Und saßest auf einem herrlichen Bette, und ein Tisch ward vor dir zugerichtet, und Mein Räuchwerk und Mein Öl setztest du darauf.

There you sat on a beautiful bed and at a table arranged before it where you placed my incense and my oil.

42 Und die Stimme einer achtlosen Menge war in ihr, und zu den Männern der Menge der Menschen wurden Sabäer aus der Wüste hereingebracht, und sie gaben Armbänder an ihre Hände und eine Krone des Schmuckes auf ihre Häupter.

So the sound of a noisy crowd was around her; including all kinds of men, even Sabeans were brought in from the wilderness, and they put bracelets on their hands and beautiful crowns on their heads.

43 Und Ich sprach von der, so alt ist in Ehebrüchen: Nun buhlet sie ihre Buhlereien, auch sie.

Then I said of her who was worn out by adultery, 'Now they will be sexually immoral with her, and she with them.'

44 Und sie gingen zu ihr ein, wie man zu einem Weibe, einer Buhlerin eingeht. So gingen sie ein zu Oholah und Oholibah, den Weibern der Unzucht.

They went in to her and slept with her as men go in to be with a prostitute. In this way they slept with Oholah and Oholibah, who were immoral women.

45 Und gerechte Männer, die werden sie richten nach dem Recht der Ehebrecherinnen, und nach dem Recht derer, so Blut vergießen; denn Ehebrecherinnen sind sie, und Blut ist an ihren Händen.

But righteous men will pass judgment and punish them as adulteresses, and they will punish them with the sentence for those who shed blood, because they are adulteresses and blood is on their hands.

46 Denn also spricht der Herr Jehovah: Ich bringe eine Versammlung wider sie herauf und gebe sie dem Grausen und dem Raube hin.

So the Lord Yahweh says this: I will raise up a company against them and give them up to be terrorized and plundered.

47 Und die Versammlung - sie werden sie mit dem Steine steinigen, und mit ihren Schwertern sie niederhauen, ihre Söhne und ihre Töchter erwürgen, und mit Feuer ihre Häuser verbrennen.

Then that company will stone them with stones and cut them down with their swords. They will kill their sons and daughters and burn down their houses.

48 Und so will Ich der Unzucht im Lande ein Ende machen, daß alle Weiber Zucht annehmen und nicht nach ihrer Unzucht tun.

For I will remove shameful behavior from the land and discipline all the women so they will no longer act like prostitutes.

49 Und eure Unzucht soll man auf euch legen und die Sünden ob euren Götzen sollt ihr tragen, und wissen, daß Ich der Herr Jehovah bin.

So they will set your shameful behavior against you. You will bear the guilt of your sins with your idols, and in this way you will know that I am the Lord Yahweh.”
