2 Mose 11

1 Und Jehovah sprach zu Mose: Noch eine Plage werde Ich über Pharao und über Ägypten hereinbringen, danach wird er euch von dannen entlassen. Wenn er euch entläßt allzumal, dann wird er euch von dannen forttreiben.

And Jehovah said to Moses, Yet one plague more I will bring upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt, afterwards he will let you go from here. When he shall let you go, he shall surely thrust you out from here altogether.

2 Rede doch vor des Volkes Ohren: Jeder Mann soll von seinem Genossen, und jedes Weib von ihrer Genossin Gefäße von Silber und Gefäße von Gold sich erbeten.

Speak now in the ears of the people, and let them ask every man of his neighbor, and every woman of her neighbor, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold.

3 Und Jehovah gab dem Volke Gnade in den Augen der Ägypter; auch war der Mann Mose sehr groß im Lande Ägypten in den Augen der Knechte Pharaos und in den Augen des Volkes.

And Jehovah gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants, and in the sight of the people.

4 Und Mose sprach: So spricht Jehovah: Um die Mitte der Nacht gehe Ich aus in die Mitte Ägyptens.

And Moses said, Thus says Jehovah, About midnight I will go out into the midst of Egypt,

5 Und sterben soll alle Erstgeburt im Lande Ägypten von dem Erstgeborenen Pharaos, der auf seinem Throne sitzt, bis auf den Erstgeborenen der Dienstmagd, die hinter der Mühle ist, und alle Erstgeburt des Viehs.

and all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits upon his throne, even to the firstborn of the maid-servant that is behind the mill, and all the firstborn of cattle.

6 Und ein groß Geschrei wird sein im ganzen Lande Ägypten, desgleichen nie gewesen ist und desgleichen nie mehr sein wird.

And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there has not been, nor shall be any more.

7 Und bei allen Söhnen Israels soll kein Hund die Zunge regen, vom Manne bis zum Vieh, auf daß ihr wisset, daß Jehovah unterscheidet zwischen Ägyptern und zwischen Israel.

But against any of the sons of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast, that ye may know how that Jehovah makes a distinction between the Egyptians and Israel.

8 Und all diese deine Knechte kommen herab zu mir und verbeugen sich vor mir und sprechen: Geh aus, du und all das Volk, das deinem Fuße folgt; und danach gehe ich aus. Und er ging in dem Entbrennen des Zornes hinaus von Pharao.

And all these thy servants shall come down to me, and bow themselves down to me, saying, Get thee out, and all the people who follow thee. And after that I will go out. And he went out from Pharaoh in hot anger.

9 Und Jehovah sprach zu Mose: Pharao wird auf euch nicht hören, auf daß Meiner Wahrzeichen viel werde im Lande Ägypten.

And Jehovah said to Moses, Pharaoh will not hearken to you, that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.

10 Und Mose und Aharon taten alle diese Wahrzeichen vor Pharao; und Jehovah bestärkte Pharaos Herz, so daß er die Söhne Israel nicht aus seinem Land entließ.

And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh. And Jehovah hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he did not let the sons of Israel go out of his land.
