Epheser 1
1 Paulus, ein Apostel Jesu Christi durch den Willen Gottes, an die Heiligen zu Ephesus und Gläubigen an Jesus Christus:
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, to the saints (in Ephesus) who are faithful in Christ Jesus:
2 Gnade sei mit euch und Friede von Gott unserem Vater und dem Herrn Jesus Christus.
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Gelobt sei Gott und der Vater unseres Herrn Jesus Christus, Der uns mit allerlei geistigen Segnungen an himmlischen Gütern durch Christus gesegnet hat.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ;
4 Wie Er uns denn erwählt hat durch Ihn, vor Gründung der Welt, damit wir heilig und tadellos wären vor Ihm in der Liebe.
even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without blemish before him in love;
5 Indem Er uns vorherbestimmt hat zur Kindschaft durch Jesus Christus für Ihn Selbst nach dem Wohlgefallen Seines Willens;
having predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his desire,
6 Zum Lob der Herrlichkeit Seiner Gnade, womit Er uns begnadigt hat in dem Geliebten;
to the praise of the glory of his grace, which he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved One,
7 An Dem wir haben die Erlösung durch Sein Blut, die Vergebung der Sünden,
in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,
8 Nach dem Reichtum Seiner Gnade, die uns überschwenglich zuteil wurde in jeglicher Weisheit und Einsicht;
which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,
9 Indem Er uns das Geheimnis Seines Willens nach Seinem Wohlgefallen kund tat, nach welchem Er bei Sich beschlossen hatte,
making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him
10 In Hinsicht auf die Veranstaltung der Erfüllung der Zeiten, alles im Himmel und auf Erden in Christus zusammenzufassen,
to an administration of the fullness of the times, to sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens, and the things on the earth, in him;
11 In Ihm, durch Den wir auch zum Erbteil gekommen, die wir zuvor verordnet sind nach dem Ratschlusse Dessen, Der alle Dinge wirkt nach dem Rat Seines Willens;
in whom also we were assigned an inheritance, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who works all things after the counsel of his will;
12 Auf daß wir zum Lobe Seiner Herrlichkeit dienten, die wir zuvor auf Christus gehofft haben.
to the end that we should be to the praise of his glory, we who had before hoped in Christ:
13 In Dem auch ihr, da ihr das Wort der Wahrheit, das Evangelium eures Heils gehört und an Ihn geglaubt habt, versiegelt worden seid mit dem Heiligen Geiste der Verheißung;
in whom you also, having heard the word of the truth, the Good News of your salvation, —in whom, having also believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
14 Welcher ist das Pfand unseres Erbes, auf die Erlösung des Eigentums zum Preis Seiner Herrlichkeit.
who is a pledge of our inheritance, to the redemption of God's own possession, to the praise of his glory.
15 Darum auch ich, nachdem ich von eurem Glauben an den Herrn Jesus bei euch, und von eurer Liebe zu allen Heiligen gehört habe,
For this cause I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you, and the love which you have toward all the saints,
16 Nicht aufhöre zu danken für euch, indem ich euer in meinem Gebete gedenke.
do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers,
17 Daß der Gott unseres Herrn Jesus Christus, der Vater der Herrlichkeit, euch gebe den Geist der Weisheit und der Offenbarung zu Seiner Erkenntnis;
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him;
18 Und erleuchte die Augen eures Verständnisses, auf daß ihr seht, welches da ist die Hoffnung Seiner Berufung, und welches da ist der Reichtum der Herrlichkeit Seines Erbes unter den Heiligen,
having the eyes of your heart enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19 Und welches da ist die überschwengliche Größe Seiner Macht an uns, die wir glauben vermöge der Wirksamkeit Seiner gewaltigen Kraft,
and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might
20 Die Er in Christus gewirkt hat, da Er Ihn von den Toten auferweckt und zu Seiner Rechten im Himmel gesetzt hat.
which he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Hoch über alle Obrigkeit und Gewalt, Macht, Herrschaft, und über alle Namen, die genannt werden mögen, nicht allein in dieser Welt, sondern auch in der zukünftigen, (aiōn g165)
far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come. (aiōn g165)
22 Und hat alle Dinge unter Seine Füße gelegt, und Ihn zum Haupt gesetzt über alles in der Gemeinde,
He put all things under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things for the church,
23 Welche ist Sein Leib und die Fülle Dessen, Der alles in allem erfüllt.
which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.
