5 Mose 9

1 Höre, Israel, du setzest heute über den Jordan, um hineinzuziehen, um Völkerschaften, die größer und mächtiger sind als du, mit großen bis an den Himmel befestigten Städten, auszutreiben.

Here thou, Israel; thou schalt passe Jordan to dai, that thou welde mooste naciouns, and strengere than thou; grete citees, and wallid `til to heuene;

2 Ein großes, hohes Volk, Söhne der Enakim, die du kennst und von denen du gehört: Wer kann bestehen vor Enaks Söhnen?

a greet puple, and hiy; the sones of Enachym, whiche thi silf `siest, and herdist, whiche no man may ayenstonde in the contrarie part.

3 So wisse denn heute, daß Jehovah, dein Gott, Der vor dir hinüberzieht, ein fressend Feuer, sie vernichten wird und sie vor dir niederbeugen; und du sollst sie austreiben und eilends zerstören, wie Jehovah zu dir geredet hat.

Therfor thou schalt wite to dai, that thi Lord God hym silf schal passe bifor thee; he is a fier deuourynge and wastynge, that schal al to breke hem, and schal do awei, and destrie bifor thi face swiftli, as he spak to thee.

4 Nicht sprich in deinem Herzen, wenn Jehovah, dein Gott, sie vor dir verteilt, und sage: Um meiner Gerechtigkeit willen hat Jehovah mich hereingebracht, dieses Land einzunehmen, und wegen der Ungerechtigkeit dieser Völkerschaften treibe sie Jehovah vor dir aus.

Seie thou not in thin herte, whanne thi Lord God hath do hem awey in thi siyt, For my riytfulnesse the Lord brouyte me yn, that Y schulde welde this lond; sithen these naciouns ben doon awey for her wickidnessis.

5 Nicht um deiner Gerechtigkeit und um der Redlichkeit deines Herzens willen kannst du ihr Land einnehmen, sondern ob der Ungerechtigkeit dieser Völkerschaften treibt Jehovah, dein Gott, sie vor dir aus, und auf daß Er das Wort bestätige, das Jehovah deinen Vätern, dem Abraham, dem Isaak und dem Jakob, geschworen hat.

For not for thi riytfulnessis, and equyte of thin herte thou schalt entre that thou welde the lond `of hem; but for thei diden wickidli, thei weren doon awey, whanne thou entridist, and that the Lord schulde fille his word which he bihiyte vndur an ooth to thi fadris, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

6 Und du sollst wissen, daß nicht ob deiner Gerechtigkeit Jehovah, dein Gott, dir dies gute Land zum Erbbesitze geben wird, denn du bist ein halsstarriges Volk.

Therfor wite thou that not for thi riytfulnesses thi Lord God yaf to thee this beste lond in to possessioun, sithen thou art a puple of hardeste nol.

7 Gedenke, vergiß es nicht, wie du Jehovah, deinen Gott, in der Wüste entrüstet hast; von dem Tage an, da du aus Ägyptenland ausgegangen, bis ihr an diesen Ort gekommen seid, seid ihr wider Jehovah widerspenstig gewesen.

Haue thou mynde, and foryete not, hou in the wildirnesse thou terridist thi Lord God to greet wraththe; fro that dai in which thou yedist out of Egipt `til to this place, thou striuedist euere ayens the Lord.

8 Und am Choreb habt ihr Jehovah entrüstet, und Jehovah zürnte wider euch, euch zu vernichten.

For whi also in Oreb thou terridist hym, and he was wrooth, and wolde do thee awei, whanne Y stiede in to the hil,

9 Als ich auf den Berg stieg, um die steinernen Tafeln, die Tafeln des Bundes, den Jehovah mit euch schloß, zu holen, und ich auf dem Berge blieb vierzig Tage und vierzig Nächte, aß ich kein Brot und trank kein Wasser.

that Y schulde take two tablis of stoon, the tablis of couenaunt which the Lord made with you, and Y continuede in the hil fourti daies and nyytis, and Y eet not breed, and Y drank not watir.

10 Und Jehovah gab mir die zwei steinernen Tafeln, mit dem Finger Gottes beschrieben und auf denselben alle Worte, die Jehovah auf dem Berge mitten aus dem Feuer am Tage der Versammlung mit euch geredet hatte.

And the Lord yaf to me, twey tablis of stoon, euer either wrytun with Goddis fyngur, and conteynynge alle the wordis whiche he spak to you in the hil, fro the myddis of the fier, whanne the cumpany of puple was gaderid togidere.

11 Und es geschah am Ende der vierzig Tage und vierzig Nächte, daß mir Jehovah die zwei steinernen Tafeln, die Tafeln des Bundes gab;

And whanne fourti daies and so many nyytis hadden passid, the Lord yaf to me twei tablis of stoon, tablis of boond of pees;

12 Und Jehovah sprach zu mir: Mache dich auf, gehe eilig von da hinab: Denn dein Volk, das du aus Ägypten ausgeführt hast, verdirbt. Eilig sind sie von dem Wege gewichen, den Ich ihnen geboten habe. Sie haben sich ein Gußbild gemacht.

and he seide to me, Rise thou, and go doun for hennys soone, for thi puple, which thou leddist out of Egipt, han forsake swiftli the weie which thou schewidist to hem, and thei han maad to hem a yotun calf.

13 Und Jehovah sprach zu mir und sagte: Ich sah dieses Volk und siehe: es ist ein halsstarriges Volk.

And eft the Lord seide to me, `Y se that this puple is of hard nol;

14 Laß ab von Mir, daß Ich sie vernichte und ihren Namen auswische unter dem Himmel. Dich aber will Ich zu einer Völkerschaft machen, mächtiger und mehr denn sie!

suffre thou me, that I alto breke hym, and do awey the name `of hym fro vndur heuene; and Y schal ordeyne thee on a folk which is grettere and strongere than this folk.

15 Und ich wandte mich und kam herab vom Berge, und der Berg brannte im Feuer. Und die zwei Tafeln des Bundes waren auf meinen zwei Händen!

And whanne Y cam doun fro the hil brennynge, and helde with euer either hond twei tablis of boond of pees, and Y seiy,

16 Und ich sah und siehe: Ihr hattet gesündigt gegen Jehovah, euren Gott, ihr hattet euch ein gegossen Kalb gemacht. Ihr waret eilig von dem Wege gewichen, den Jehovah euch geboten hatte.

that ye hadde synned to youre Lord God, and hadden maad to you a yotun calf, and hadden forsake swiftli the weie of God which he schewide to you,

17 Und ich erfaßte die zwei Tafeln und warf sie aus meinen beiden Händen, und ich zerbrach sie vor euren Augen.

Y castide doun the tablis fro myn hondis, and brak tho tablis in youre siyt.

18 Und ich fiel nieder vor Jehovah, wie zuerst, vierzig Tage und vierzig Nächte, aß kein Brot und trank kein Wasser, um aller eurer Sünden willen, die ihr gesündigt, daß ihr tatet, was böse war in den Augen Jehovahs, womit ihr Ihn reiztet.

And Y felde doun bifor the Lord as `biforto, in fourti daies and fourti nyytis, and Y eet not breed, `and drank not watir, for alle youre synnes whiche ye diden ayens the Lord, and terriden hym to `greet wraththe;

19 Denn mir war bange vor dem Zorn und Grimm, von dem Jehovah wider euch entrüstet war, so daß Er euch vernichten wollte, und Jehovah hörte auch jenes Mal auf mich.

for Y dredde the indignacioun and yre of hym, by which he was stirid ayens you, and wolde do you awey. And the Lord herde me also in this tyme.

20 Und über Aharon zürnte Jehovah sehr, so daß Er ihn vernichten wollte, und ich betete auch für Aharon zur selben Zeit.

Also the Lord was wrooth greteli ayens Aaron, and wolde alto breke hym, and Y preiede in lijk maner for hym.

21 Und eure Sünde, die ihr gemacht, das Kalb, nahm ich und verbrannte es im Feuer und zerstieß und zermahlte es wohl, bis daß es fein ward zu Staub und warf den Staub davon in den Bach, der vom Berge herabkommt.

`Forsothe Y took youre synne which ye maden, that is, the calf, and brente it in fier, and Y alto brak in gobetis, and droof outerli in to dust, and castide forth in to the stronde, that cam doun fro the hil.

22 Und in Taberah und in Massah und bei Kibroth Hattaavah habt ihr Jehovah entrüstet.

Also in the brennyng, and in the temptacioun at the watris of ayenseiyng, and in the Sepulcris of Coueytise, ye terriden the Lord;

23 Und als Jehovah euch von Kadesch Barnea sandte und sprach: Ziehet hinauf und nehmet das Land ein, das Ich euch gegeben habe, da waret ihr widerspenstig wider den Mund Jehovahs, eures Gottes, und glaubtet Ihm nicht und hörtet nicht auf Seine Stimme.

and whanne Y sente you fro Cades Barne, and seide, `Stye ye, and welde the lond which Y yaf to you, and ye dispisiden the comaundement of youre Lord God, and ye bileueden not to him, nether ye wolden here his vois;

24 Ihr waret widerspenstig wider Jehovah von dem Tage an, da ich euch kenne.

but euere ye weren rebel, fro the day in which Y bigan to knowe you.

25 Und ich fiel nieder vor Jehovah vierzig Tage und vierzig Nächte, die ich niederfiel; denn Jehovah sprach, Er wolle euch vernichten;

And Y lay byfore the Lord fourti daies and fourti nyytis, in whiche Y bisouyte hym mekeli, that he schulde not `do awey you, as he manaasside.

26 Und ich betete zu Jehovah und sprach: Herr Jehovah, verdirb nicht Dein Volk und Dein Erbe, das Du eingelöst hast durch Deine Größe, das Du mit starker Hand aus Ägypten herausgeführt.

And Y preiede, and seide, Lord God, distrye not thi puple, and thin eritage, which thou `ayen bouytist in thi greetnesse, which thou leddist out of Egipt in strong hond.

27 Gedenke deiner Knechte Abraham, Isaak und Jakob und wende dich nicht an die Härtigkeit dieses Volkes und an seine Ungerechtigkeit und an seine Sünde.

Haue thou mynde of thi seruauntis, of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; biholde thou not the hardnesse of this puple, and the wickidnesse, and the synne therof,

28 Daß man nicht sage im Lande, aus dem Du uns ausgeführt hast: Da Jehovah nicht vermochte, sie in das Land hineinzubringen, von dem Er zu ihnen geredet hatte, und weil Er sie haßte, hat Er sie herausgeführt, um sie in der Wüste zu töten.

lest perauenture the dwelleris of the lond, out of which thou leddist vs, seien, The Lord myyte not bryng hem in to the lond which he bihiyte to hem, and he hatide hem; therfor he ledde hem out that he schulde sle hem in wildirnesse;

29 Und sie sind Dein Volk und Dein Erbe, das Du mit Deiner großen Kraft und Deinem ausgereckten Arm hast ausgeführt.

and thei ben thi puple and thin eritage, which thou leddist out in thi greet strengthe, and in thin arm holdun forth.
