5 Mose 4

1 Und nun höre, Israel, auf die Satzungen und auf die Rechte, welche ich euch lehre zu tun, auf daß ihr lebet und hineinkommet und einnehmet das Land, das euch Jehovah, der Gott eurer Väter, geben wird.

And now, thou Israel, here the comaundementis and domes whiche Y teche thee, that thou do tho, and lyue, and that thow entre and welde the lond which the Lord God of youre fadris schal yyue to you.

2 Ihr sollt nicht dazutun zu dem Worte, das Ich euch gebiete, noch sollt ihr etwas davon wegnehmen, auf daß ihr haltet die Gebote Jehovahs, eures Gottes, die ich euch gebiete.

Ye schulen not adde to the word which Y speke to you, nether ye schulen take awei `fro it; kepe ye the comaundementis of youre Lord God, which Y comaunde to you.

3 Eure Augen haben gesehen, was Jehovah getan hat in Baal-Peor; denn jeden Mann, der dem Baal-Peor nachging, hat Jehovah, dein Gott, aus deiner Mitte vernichtet.

Youre iyen sien alle thingis whiche the Lord dide ayens Belphegor; how he alto brak alle the worschiperis `of hym fro the myddis of you.

4 Ihr aber, die ihr Jehovah, eurem Gotte, anhinget, seid diesen Tag noch alle am Leben.

Forsothe ye that cleuen to youre Lord God lyuen alle `til in to present day.

5 Siehe, ich habe euch Satzungen und Rechte gelehrt, wie mir Jehovah, mein Gott, geboten hat, daß ihr danach tut inmitten des Landes, dahin ihr kommen werdet, es einzunehmen.

Ye witen that Y tauyte you the comaundementis and riytfulnessis, as my Lord God comaundide to me; so ye schulen do tho in the lond whiche ye schulen welde,

6 Haltet aber und tut sie. Denn das sei eure Weisheit und eure Einsicht vor den Augen der Völker, wenn sie hören werden alle diese Satzungen und sagen: Nur ein weises und einsichtsvolles Volk ist diese große Völkerschaft!

and ye schulen kepe, and schulen fille in werk. For this is youre wisdom and vndurstondyng bifor puplis, that alle men here these comaundementis, and seie, Lo! a wise puple and vnderstondynge! a greet folk!

7 Denn wo ist eine Völkerschaft so groß, dem Gott nahe ist, wie Jehovah, unser Gott, so oft wir zu Ihm rufen?

Noon other nacioun is so greet, `not in noumbre ether in bodili quantite, but in dignite, that hath Goddis neiyynge to it silf, as oure God is redi to alle oure bisechyngis.

8 Und wo ist eine Völkerschaft so groß, die so gerechte Satzungen und Rechte hätte, wie dies ganze Gesetz, das ich diesen Tag vor euch gebe?

For whi what other folk is so noble, that it hath cerymonyes and iust domes, and al the lawe which Y schal `sette forth to dai bifor youre iyen?

9 Nur hüte dich, und hüte deine Seele sehr, daß du nicht vergissest die Dinge, die deine Augen gesehen haben, auf daß sie alle Tage deines Lebens nicht aus deinem Herzen weichen, und sollst sie deine Söhne und die Söhne deiner Söhne wissen lassen;

Therfor kepe thi silf, and thi soule bisili; foryete thou not the wordis whiche thin iyen sien, and falle tho not doun fro thin herte, in alle the daies of thi lijf. Thou schalt teche tho thi sones and thi sones sones.

10 Den Tag, da du standest vor Jehovah, deinem Gott, am Choreb, da Jehovah zu mir sprach: Versammle Mir das Volk, daß Ich sie hören lasse Meine Worte, die sie lernen sollen, Mich zu fürchten alle Tage, die sie auf dem Boden leben, und daß sie ihre Söhne lehren.

Telle thou the day in which thou stodist bifor thi Lord God in Oreb, whanne the Lord spak to me, and seide, Gadere thou the puple to me, that it here my wordis, and lerne for to drede me in al tyme in which it lyueth in erthe, and teche hise sones.

11 Und ihr nahtet hinzu und standet unten am Berg, und der Berg brannte im Feuer bis in das Herz der Himmel. Da war Finsternis, eine Wolke und Wolkendunkel.

And ye neiyiden to the `roote of the hille, that brente `til to heuene; and derknessis, and cloude, and myist weren therynne.

12 Und Jehovah redete zu euch mitten aus dem Feuer. Die Stimme der Worte hörtet ihr; aber ein Abbild sahet ihr nicht, nur eine Stimme.

And the Lord spak to you fro the myddis of fier; ye herden the vois of hise wordis, and outirli ye sien no fourme.

13 Und Er sagte euch an Seinen Bund, den Er euch gebot zu tun, die Zehn Worte, und schrieb sie auf zwei steinerne Tafeln.

And he schewide to you his couenaunt, which he comaundide, that ye schulden do, and `he schewide ten wordis, whiche he wroot in two tablis of stoon.

14 Und mir gebot Jehovah zur selben Zeit, euch zu lehren Satzungen und Rechte, daß ihr sie tun solltet in dem Lande, in das ihr überziehen würdet, um es einzunehmen.

And he comaundide to me in that tyme, that Y schulde teche you cerymonyes and domes, whiche ye owen to do in the lond whiche ye schulen welde.

15 Hütet euch aber sehr für eure Seelen, denn ihr habt kein Abbild gesehen am Tage, da Jehovah auf Choreb mitten aus dem Feuer zu euch redete;

Therfor kepe ye bisili youre soulis; ye sien not ony licnesse in the dai in which the Lord spak to you in Oreb, fro the myddis of the fier;

16 Auf daß ihr es nicht verderbt und euch kein Schnitzbild machet, ein Abbild irgendeiner Form nach dem männlichen oder weiblichen Vorbild;

lest perauenture ye be disseyued and make to you a grauun licnesse, ether an ymage of male, ether of female;

17 Das Vorbild irgendeines Viehs, das auf Erden ist, das Vorbild irgendeines geflügelten Vogels, das am Himmel fliegt,

a licnesse of alle beestis that ben on erthe, ether of bridis fleynge vndur heuene,

18 Das Vorbild irgendeines Kriechtieres auf dem Boden, das Vorbild irgendeines Fisches, der im Wasser unter der Erde ist;

and of crepynge beestis that ben moued in erthe, ether of fischis that dwellen vndur the erthe in watris; lest perauenture,

19 Und daß du nicht deine Augen zum Himmel erhebest und die Sonne, und den Mond und die Sterne sehest, all das Heer des Himmels, und du irre gehst und sie anbetest und ihnen dienst, die Jehovah, dein Gott, allen Völkern unter allen Himmeln zugeteilt hat.

whanne thin iyen ben reisid to heuene, thou se the sonne, and moone, and alle the sterris of heuene, and be disseyued bi errour, and worschipe tho, `bi outermer reuerence, and onour, `bi ynner reuerence, `tho thingis whiche thi Lord God made of nouyt, in to seruyce to alle folkis that ben vndur heuene.

20 Euch aber hat Jehovah genommen und euch aus dem Schmelzofen des Eisens, aus Ägypten ausgeführt, auf daß ihr Ihm zum Erbvolke werdet, wie an diesem Tag.

Forsothe the Lord took you, and ledde out of the yrun furneys of Egipt, that he schulde haue a puple of eritage, as it is in `present dai.

21 Aber Jehovah zürnte mir euretwegen, und schwur, daß ich nicht sollte über den Jordan setzen, und daß ich nicht kommen solle zum guten Land, das Jehovah, dein Gott, dir zum Erbe gibt.

And the Lord was wrooth ayens me for youre wordis, and swoor that Y schulde not passe Jordan, and schulde not entre in to the beeste lond, which he schal yyue to you.

22 Denn ich sterbe in diesem Land, ich werde nicht über den Jordan setzen; ihr aber setzet über und nehmet dies gute Land ein.

Lo! Y die in this erthe; Y schal not passe Jordan; ye schulen passe, and schulen welde the noble lond.

23 Hütet euch, daß ihr nicht vergesset den Bund Jehovahs, eures Gottes, den Er mit euch geschlossen hat, so ihr euch machtet ein Schnitzbild, in dem Abbild von irgend etwas, das euch Jehovah, euer Gott, verboten hat.

Be thou war, lest ony tyme thou foryete the couenaunt of thi Lord God, which he made with thee, and lest thou make to thee a grauun licness of tho thingis whiche the Lord forbeed to make.

24 Denn Jehovah, dein Gott, ist ein fressendes Feuer, ein eifernder Gott;

For thi Lord God is fier wastynge; `God, a feruent louyere.

25 Wenn du zeugst Söhne und Söhne der Söhne, und ihr alt geworden seid im Lande, und ihr verderbt euch, so daß ihr ein Schnitzbild in dem Abbild von irgend etwas machet, und tut, was übel ist in den Augen Jehovahs, eures Gottes, so daß ihr Ihn reizet;

If ye gendren sones, and sones of sones, and ye dwellen in the lond, and ye be disceyued, and make to you ony licnesse, and doen yuel bifor youre Lord God, that ye terren hym to greet wrathe,

26 So nehme ich heute Himmel und Erde zu Zeugen wider euch, daß ihr eilends umkommt aus dem Lande weg, in das ihr über den Jordan übersetzt, um es einzunehmen; nicht sollet ihr eure Tage darin verlängern, weil ihr vernichtet werdet.

Y clepe witnesses to dai heuene and erthe, `that is, ech resonable creature beynge in heuene and in erthe, that ye schulen perische soone fro the lond, which ye schulen welde, whanne ye han passid Jordan; ye schulen not dwelle long tyme therynne, but the Lord schal do awey you,

27 Und zerstreuen wird euch Jehovah unter die Völker, und wird euer eine geringe Zahl bleiben unter den Völkerschaften, dahin euch Jehovah treiben läßt.

and schal scatere `in to alle hethen men, and ye schulen leeue fewe among naciouns, to whiche the Lord schal lede you.

28 Und dort werdet ihr Göttern dienen, die von Menschenhänden gemacht sind, Holz und Stein, die nicht sehen und nicht hören und nicht essen und nicht riechen können.

And there ye schulen serue to goddis, that ben maad bi `the hond of men, to a tre and a stoon, that `seen not, nether heren, nether eten, nether smellen.

29 Und von dort werdet ihr nach Jehovah, deinem Gott, suchen und du wirst Ihn finden, wenn du nach Ihm suchst von deinem ganzen Herzen und von deiner ganzen Seele.

And whanne thou hast souyt there thi Lord God, thou schalt fynde hym; if netheles thou sekist with al the herte, and with al the tribulacioun of thi soule.

30 In deiner Drangsal und wenn dich alle diese Dinge treffen, in den späteren Tagen wirst du zurückkehren zu Jehovah, deinem Gott und wirst auf seine Stimme hören.

Aftir that alle thingis han founde thee, that ben biforseid, forsothe in the laste tyme, thou schalt turne ayen to thi Lord God, and thou schalt here his vois.

31 Weil Jehovah, dein Gott, ein erbarmungsvoller Gott ist, wird Er nicht von dir ablassen noch dich verderben, und wird nicht vergessen den Bund mit deinen Vätern, den Er ihnen geschworen hat.

For thi Lord God is merciful God; he schal not forsake thee, nethir he schal do awey outirli, nethir he schal foryete the couenaunt, in which he swoor to thi fadris.

32 Dann frage doch nach den früheren Tagen, die vor dir gewesen, seit dem Tage, da Gott den Menschen auf der Erde geschaffen, und von einem Ende des Himmels bis zum anderen Ende des Himmels, ob je so Großes geschehen oder gehört worden ist, wie dies?

Axe thou of elde daies that weren bifor thee, fro the day in which thi Lord God made of nouyt man on erthe, axe thou fro that oon ende of heuene `til to the tother ende therof, if sich a thing was doon ony tyme, ether if it was euere knowun,

33 Hat je ein Volk die Stimme Gottes mitten aus dem Feuer reden gehört, wie du gehört hast, und ist am Leben geblieben?

that a puple herde the vois of God spekynge fro the myddis of the fier, as thou herdist, and siest;

34 Oder hat Gott jemals versucht, hinzugehen und Sich eine Völkerschaft mitten aus einer Völkerschaft herauszunehmen mit Versuchungen, mit Zeichen und mit Wahrzeichen, und mit Streit und mit starker Hand und mit ausgestrecktem Arm, und mit großen, furchtbaren Taten, wie das alles Jehovah, euer Gott, für euch vor euren Augen in Ägypten getan hat?

35 Du hast es gesehen, damit du wissest, daß Jehovah der Gott ist, und daß keiner recht ist außer Ihm.

that thou schuldist wite, that the Lord hym silf is God, and noon other is, outakun oon.

36 Aus dem Himmel ließ Er dich Seine Stimme hören, um dich zu belehren, und auf Erden ließ Er dich Sein großes Feuer sehen, und Seine Worte hast du gehört mitten aus dem Feuer!

Fro heuene he made thee to here his vois, that he schulde teche thee; and in erthe he schewide to thee his grettiste fier, and thou herdist the wordis `of hym fro the myddis of the fier;

37 Und darum, daß Er deine Väter liebte, und ihren Samen nach ihnen erwählte, und dich mit Seinem Angesichte mit Seiner großen Kraft aus Ägypten ausführte,

for he louyde thi fadris, and chees her seed aftir hem. And he ledde thee out of Egipt, and yede bifore in his greet vertu,

38 Um größere und gewaltigere Völkerschaften, als du bist, vor dir auszutreiben, um dich hineinzuführen und dir ihr Land zum Erbe zu geben, wie an diesem Tag.

that he schulde do awei grettiste naciouns, and strongere than thou, in thin entryng, and that he schulde lede thee ynne, and schulde yyue to thee the lond `of hem in to possessioun, as thou seest in `present day.

39 Und du sollst an diesem Tag wissen, und dir ins Herz zurückbringen, daß Jehovah der Gott ist im Himmel oben und unten auf Erden, keiner sonst;

Therfor wite thou to dai, and thenke in thin herte, that the Lord him silfe is God in heuene aboue, and in erthe bynethe, and noon other is.

40 Und sollst Seine Satzungen und Seine Gebote halten, die ich dir heute gebiete, auf daß es dir und deinen Söhnen nach dir wohlergehe, auf daß du deine Tage verlängerst auf dem Boden, den dir Jehovah, dein Gott, für alle Tage geben wird.

Kepe thou hise heestis, and comaundementis, whiche Y comaunde to thee, that it be wel to thee, and to thi sones after thee, and that thou dwelle mych tyme on the lond, which thi Lord God schal yyue to thee.

41 Da schied Mose drei Städte jenseits des Jordans gegen Aufgang der Sonne aus,

Thanne Moises departide thre citees biyende Jordan at the eest coost,

42 Auf daß dahin flöhe der Totschläger, der seinen Genossen ohne Wissen tot geschlagen, ohne daß er ihn haßte seit gestern und ehegestern. Und er soll fliehen in eine von diesen Städten und soll am Leben bleiben,

that he fle to tho, that sleeth his neighbore not wilfuli, and was not enemy bifore oon and `the tother dai, and that he mai fle to summe of these citees;

43 Bezer in der Wüste im Lande der Ebene für die Rubeniter, und Ramoth in Gilead für die Gaditer, und Golan in Baschan für die Menaschiter.

Bosor in the wildirnesse, which is set in the feeldi lond, of the lynage of Ruben; and Ramoth in Galaad, which is in the lynage of Gad; and Golan in Basan, which is in the lynage of Manasses.

44 Und dies ist das Gesetz, welches Mose vor die Söhne Israels legte:

This is the lawe which Moises `settide forth bifor the sones of Israel,

45 Das sind die Zeugnisse und die Satzungen und die Rechte, die Mose zu den Söhnen Israels auf ihrem Auszug aus Ägypten geredet hat,

and these ben the witnessyngis, and cerymonyes, and domes, whiche he spak to the sones of Israel, whanne thei yeden out of Egipt,

46 Jenseits des Jordans im Tal, Beth-Peor gegenüber, im Lande Sichons, des Königs der Amoriter, der in Cheschbon wohnte, den Mose und die Söhne Israels schlugen auf ihrem Auszug aus Ägypten.

biyende Jordan, in the valey ayens the temple of Phegor, in the lond of Seon, kyng of Ammorreis, that dwellide in Esebon, whom Moises killide. And the sones of Israel yeden out of Egipt, and weldiden `the lond of him,

47 Und sie nahmen sein Land ein und das Land Ogs, des Königs von Baschan, der zwei Könige der Amoriter, am Übergang über den Jordan, gegen Aufgang der Sonne.

and the lond of Og, kyng of Basan, twei kyngis of Ammoreis, that weren biyende Jordan, at the rysyng of the sunne;

48 Von Aroer, das am Ufer des Baches Arnon ist, und bis zum Berge Sion, das ist der Chermon.

fro Aroer which is set on the brenke of the stronde of Arnon, `til to the hil of Seon, which is Hermon;

49 Und all das Flachland jenseits des Jordans gegen Aufgang und bis zum Meere des Flachlandes unter den Abhängen des Pisgah.

thei weldiden al the pleyn biyende Jordan, at the eest coost, `til to the see of wildirnesse, and `til to the rootis of the hil of Phasga.
