5 Mose 3

1 Und wir wandten uns und zogen hinauf den Weg nach Baschan; und Og, der König von Baschan, ging aus, uns entgegen, er und all sein Volk, zum Streite bei Edrei.

And we turned, and went up the way to Bashan; and 'Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to the battle at Edre'i.

2 Und Jehovah sprach zu mir: Fürchte ihn nicht, denn Ich habe ihn und all sein Volk und sein Land in deine Hand gegeben; und tue ihm, wie du Sichon, dem Amoriterkönig, der in Cheschbon wohnte, getan hast.

And the Lord said unto me, Fear him not; for into thy hand have I given him, and all his people, and his land; and thou shalt do unto him as thou hast done unto Sichon, the king of the Emorites, who dwelt at Cheshbon.

3 Und Jehovah, unser Gott, gab auch Og, den König von Baschan, und all sein Volk in unsre Hand, und wir schlugen ihn, bis kein Rest verblieb.

And the Lord our God gave into our hands also 'Og the king of Bashan, and all his people; and we smote him until none was left to him who escaped.

4 Und wir eroberten zur selben Zeit alle seine Städte; da war keine Stadt, die wir ihnen nicht nahmen, sechzig Städte, den ganzen Landstrich von Argob, das Königreich Ogs in Baschan.

And we conquered all his cities at that time, there was not a city which we took not from them, sixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of 'Og in Bashan.

5 Alle diese Städte waren fest mit hohen Mauern, mit Flügeltoren und Riegeln, außer den sehr vielen nicht ummauerten Städten.

all these were fortified cities, with high walls, gates, and bars; besides the unwalled towns, which were a great many.

6 Und wir bannten sie, wie wir Sichon, dem König von Cheschbon taten, alle Städte mit Männern, Weibern und Kindlein wurden gebannt.

And we devoted them, as we had done unto Sichon the king of Cheshbon, devoting every inhabited city, the women, and the little ones.

7 Und alles Vieh und die Beute der Städte raubten wir für uns.

But all the cattle, and the spoil of the cities, we took as booty to ourselves.

8 Und wir nahmen zur selben Zeit das Land aus der Hand der zwei Könige der Amoriter, diesseits des Jordans, vom Bache Arnon bis zum Berge Chermon.

And we took at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Emorites the land which is on this side of the Jordan, from the river of Arnon unto mount Chermon;

9 Die Zidonier nennen den Chermon Sirion, und die Amoriter nennen ihn Senir.

(The Sidonians call Chermon Siryon; and the Emorites call it Senir; )

10 Alle Städte der Ebene und ganz Gilead und ganz Baschan bis Salcha und Edrei, Städte des Königsreiches Ogs in Baschan.

All the cities of the plain, and all Gil'ad, and all Bashan, unto Salchah and Edrei, the cities of the kingdom of 'Og in Bashan.

11 Denn Og, König von Baschan, verblieb allein von den Übriggebliebenen der Rephaim. Siehe, sein Ruhebett, ein Ruhebett von Eisen, ist es nicht in Rabbath der Söhne Ammons? Neun Ellen ist seine Länge und vier Ellen seine Breite nach dem Mannes- Ellenbogen.

For only 'Og the king of Bashan had been left of the remnant of the Rephaim; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; lo! it is in Rabbah of the children of 'Ammon: nine cubits is its length, and four cubits its breadth, after the arm of a man.

12 Und dieses Land haben wir zur selben Zeit eingenommen, von Aroer an, das am Bache Arnon ist; und die Hälfte des Berges Gilead und dessen Städte habe ich dem Rubeniter und dem Gaditer gegeben.

And of this land, of which we took possession at that time, from 'Aro'er, which is by the river Arnon, and half mount Gil'ad, and the cities thereof, I gave unto the Reubenites and to the Gadites.

13 Und das übrige Gilead und ganz Baschan, Ogs Königreich, gab ich dem halben Stamme Menascheh, den ganzen Landstrich von Argob, samt dem ganzen Baschan; es heißt das Land der Rephaim.

And the rest of Gil'ad, and all Bashan, the kingdom of 'Og, I gave unto the half tribe of Menasseh: all the region of Argob, with all Bashan, this is called the land of Rephaim.

14 Jair, Menaschehs Sohn, nahm den ganzen Landstrich Argob bis an die Grenze der Gaschuriter und der Maachathiter, und nannte Baschan nach seinem Namen die Dörfer Jairs bis auf diesen Tag.

Yair the son of Menasseh took all the region of Argob up to the border of the Geshurites and the Ma-'achathites; and he called them the [land of] Bashan, after his own name, the villages of Yair, unto this day.

15 Und dem Machir gab ich Gilead.

And unto Machir I gave Gil'ad.

16 Und dem Rubeniter und dem Gaditer gab ich von Gilead und bis an den Bach Arnon, zur Mitte des Baches als Grenze, und bis zum Bache Jabbok, der Grenze der Söhne Ammons.

And unto the Reubenites and unto the Gadites I gave from Gil'ad even unto the brook Arnon, the land within the river and that adjoining, even unto the brook Yabbok, the border of the children of 'Ammon;

17 Und das Flachland und den Jordan als Grenze. Vom Kinnereth und bis zum Meer des Flachlandes, zum Salzmeer unter den Abhängen des Pisgah dem Aufgang zu.

The plain also, and the Jordan, and the adjoining land, from Kinnereth even unto the sea of the plain, the Salt Sea, under the declivities of Pisgah, eastward.

18 Und ich gebot euch zur selben Zeit und sprach: Jehovah, euer Gott, hat euch dieses Land gegeben zum Erbbesitz. Ausgerüstet sollt ihr vor euren Brüdern, den Söhnen Israels, hinüberziehen, alle tapferen Söhne.

And I commanded you at that time, saying, The Lord your God hath given you this land to possess it: armed shall ye pass over before your brethren the children of Israel, all that are fit to bear arms.

19 Nur eure Weiber und eure Kindlein und eure Viehherden - ich weiß, ihr habt viel Viehherden - sollen in euren Städten bleiben, die ich euch gegeben habe;

But your wives, and your little ones, and your cattle, (I know that ye have much cattle, ) shall abide in your cities which I have given you;

20 Bis Jehovah eure Brüder wie euch zur Ruhe gebracht, und auch sie das Land einnehmen, das Jehovah, euer Gott, ihnen jenseits des Jordans geben wird. Und ihr kehret, jeder Mann, zu seinem Erbbesitz zurück, das ich euch gegeben habe.

Until that the Lord have given rest unto your brethren, as well as unto you, and they also have taken possession of the land which the Lord your God giveth them beyond the Jordan: then shall ye return every man unto his possession which I have given you.

21 Und dem Jehoschua habe ich zur selben Zeit geboten und gesagt: Deine Augen haben gesehen alles, was Jehovah, euer Gott, diesen zwei Königen getan hat. So wird Jehovah allen den Königreichen tun, in die du hinüberziehen wirst.

And Joshua also I commanded at that time, saying, Thy own eyes have seen all that the Lord your God hath done unto these two kings: thus will the Lord do unto all the kingdoms whither thou passest.

22 Fürchtet sie nicht; denn Jehovah, euer Gott, Er streitet für euch.

Ye shall not fear them; for the Lord your God it is who fighteth for you.

23 Und ich flehte zur selben Zeit zu Jehovah und sprach:

And I besought the Lord at that time, saying,

24 O Herr, Jehovah, Du hast angefangen, Deinem Knechte Deine Größe und Deine starke Hand zu zeigen; denn welcher Gott im Himmel und auf Erden kann Deine Taten und nach Deiner Macht tun!

O Lord Eternal, thou hast begun to show thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand; for what God is there in heaven or on earth, that can do aught like thy works, and like thy mighty deeds?

25 Laß mich doch hinüberziehen und sehen das gute Land, das jenseits des Jordans ist! dies gute Gebirge und den Libanon!

Let me go over, I pray thee, that I may see the good land which is on the other side of the Jordan, this goodly mountain, and the Lebanon.

26 Aber Jehovah wütete gegen mich um euretwillen und hörte nicht auf mich. Und Jehovah sprach zu mir: Dir ist viel geworden. Rede zu Mir nicht weiter von dieser Sache.

But the Lord was wroth with me for your sakes, and he would not hear me: and the Lord said unto me, Let it suffice thee; do not continue to speak unto me any more of this matter.

27 Steige auf die Spitze des Pisgah und erhebe deine Augen dem Meere zu und nach Mitternacht, und nach Süden und gegen Aufgang, und siehe mit deinen Augen; denn du sollst nicht über diesen Jordan übersetzen.

Get thee up unto the top of Pisgah, and lift up thy eyes, westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and behold it with thy eyes; for thou shalt not pass over this Jordan.

28 Gebiete aber Jehoschua, stärke ihn und mache ihn rüstig; denn er soll vor diesem Volke hinüberziehen und ihnen das Land zum Erbe verteilen, das du sehen wirst.

And do thou charge Joshua, and strengthen him, and encourage him; for he shall go over before this people, and he shall divide out to them the land which thou shalt see.

29 Wir aber blieben in dem Tale, Beth Peor gegenüber.

And we abode in the valley opposite Beth-peor.
