5 Mose 27

1 Und es geboten Mose und die Ältesten Israels dem Volke und sprachen: Haltet all das Gebot, das ich euch heute gebiete.

And Moses and [the] elderly of Israel command the people, saying, “Keep all the command which I am commanding you today;

2 Und es geschehe, daß am Tage, da ihr über den Jordan in das Land übersetzet, das Jehovah, dein Gott, dir geben wird, so sollst du dir große Steine aufrichten und sie mit Kalk übertünchen.

and it has been, in the day that you pass over the Jordan to the land which your God YHWH is giving to you, that you have raised up great stones for yourself, and plastered them with plaster,

3 Und du sollst darauf alle Worte dieses Gesetzes schreiben, wenn du hinüberziehst, auf daß du in das Land eingehst, das Jehovah, dein Gott, dir gibt, ein Land, das von Milch und Honig fließt, wie Jehovah, der Gott deiner Väter, zu dir geredet hat.

and written on them all the words of this law in your passing over, so that you go into the land which your God YHWH is giving to you—a land flowing with milk and honey, as YHWH, God of your fathers, has spoken to you.

4 Und es geschehe, daß, wenn ihr über den Jordan übersetzet, sollet ihr diese Steine aufrichten, wie ich euch heute gebiete, auf dem Berge Ebal und sie mit Kalk übertünchen;

And it has been, in your passing over the Jordan, you raise up these stones which I am commanding you today, in Mount Ebal, and you have plastered them with plaster,

5 Und sollst allda einen Altar bauen Jehovah, deinem Gott, einen Altar von Steinen, du sollst kein Eisen schwingen über sie.

and built an altar there to your God YHWH, an altar of stones; you do not wave iron over them.

6 Von ganzen Steinen sollst du den Altar Jehovahs, deines Gottes, bauen, und sollst Jehovah, deinem Gotte, Brandopfer darauf opfern.

You build the altar of your God YHWH [with] complete stones, and have caused burnt-offerings to ascend on it to your God YHWH,

7 Und sollst Dankopfer opfern und allda essen und fröhlich sein vor Jehovah, deinem Gott.

and sacrificed peace-offerings, and eaten there, and rejoiced before your God YHWH,

8 Und schreibe auf diese Steine alle Worte dieses Gesetzes und präge sie wohl ein.

and written on the stones all the words of this law, well engraved.”

9 Und Mose redete und die Priester, die Leviten, zu ganz Israel und sprachen: Merke und höre, Israel! An diesem Tage bist du Jehovah, deinem Gott, zum Volk geworden.

And Moses speaks—the priests, the Levites, also—to all Israel, saying, “Keep silent and hear, O Israel: This day you have become a people for your God YHWH;

10 Und du sollst hören auf die Stimme Jehovahs, deines Gottes, und tun Seine Gebote und Seine Satzungen, die ich dir heute gebiete.

and you have listened to the voice of your God YHWH, and done His commands and His statutes which I am commanding you today.”

11 Und Mose gebot dem Volk an selbigem Tage und sprach:

And Moses commands the people on that day, saying,

12 Diese sollen auf dem Berge Gerissim stehen, um das Volk zu segnen, wenn ihr über den Jordan übersetzet: Schimeon und Levi und Judah und Issaschar und Joseph und Benjamin.

“These stand on Mount Gerizzim to bless the people, in your passing over the Jordan: Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin.

13 Und diese sollen stehen zum Fluche auf dem Berg Ebal: Ruben, Gad und Ascher und Sebulon, Dan und Naphthali.

And these stand, for the reviling, on Mount Ebal: Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.”

14 Und die Leviten sollen anheben und mit erhöhter Stimme zu jedem Mann in Israel sprechen:

And the Levites have answered and said to every man of Israel [with] a loud voice:

15 Verflucht sei der Mann, der ein Schnitzbild oder Gußbild macht, einen Greuel Jehovahs, ein Werk von den Händen des Werkmanns gemacht, und es insgeheim aufstellt. Und das ganze Volk antworte und spreche: Amen.

“Cursed [is] the man who makes a carved and molten image, an abomination [to] YHWH, work of the hands of a craftsman, and has put [it] in a secret place.” And all the people have answered and said, “Amen.”

16 Verflucht sei, wer seinen Vater und seine Mutter gering achtet! Und das ganze Volk spreche: Amen.

“Cursed [is] he who is making light of his father and his mother.” And all the people have said, “Amen.”

17 Verflucht sei, wer seines Genossen Grenze verrückt, und alles Volk spreche: Amen.

“Cursed [is] he who is removing his neighbor’s border.” And all the people have said, “Amen.”

18 Verflucht sei, wer einen Blinden auf dem Wege fehlgehen läßt! Und das ganze Volk spreche: Amen.

“Cursed [is] he who is causing the blind to err in the way.” And all the people have said, “Amen.”

19 Verflucht sei, wer dem Fremdling, der Waise und der Witwe das Recht abwendet, und das ganze Volk spreche: Amen.

“Cursed [is] he who is turning aside the judgment of fatherless, sojourner, and widow.” And all the people have said, “Amen.”

20 Verflucht sei, wer bei dem Weibe seines Vaters liegt; denn er hat seines Vaters Decke aufgedeckt, und das ganze Volk spreche: Amen.

“Cursed [is] he who is lying with his father’s wife, for he has uncovered his father’s skirt.” And all the people have said, “Amen.”

21 Verflucht sei, der bei irgendeinem Vieh liegt, und das ganze Volk spreche: Amen.

“Cursed [is] he who is lying with any beast.” And all the people have said, “Amen.”

22 Verflucht, wer bei seiner Schwester, der Tochter seines Vaters oder der Tochter seiner Mutter liegt; und das ganze Volk spreche: Amen.

“Cursed [is] he who is lying with his sister, daughter of his father or daughter of his mother.” And all the people have said, “Amen.”

23 Verflucht sei, wer bei seiner Schwiegermutter liegt; und das ganze Volk spreche: Amen.

“Cursed [is] he who is lying with his mother-in-law.” And all the people have said, “Amen.”

24 Verflucht sei, wer seinen Genossen heimlich erschlägt! Und das ganze Volk spreche: Amen.

“Cursed [is] he who is striking his neighbor in secret.” And all the people have said, “Amen.”

25 Verflucht sei, wer Geschenk nimmt, um eine Seele, unschuldiges Blut, zu erschlagen! Und das ganze Volk spreche: Amen.

“Cursed [is] he who is taking a bribe to strike a person, innocent blood.” And all the people have said, “Amen.”

26 Verflucht sei, wer die Worte dieses Gesetzes nicht bestätigt, daß er sie tue! Und das ganze Volk spreche: Amen.

“Cursed [is] he who does not establish the words of this law, to do them.” And all the people have said, “Amen.”
