5 Mose 2
1 Und wir wandten uns und brachen auf nach der Wüste auf dem Wege nach dem Schilfmeer, wie Jehovah zu mir redete, und umzogen das Gebirge Seir viele Tage.
Then we turned, and tooke our iourney into the wildernes, by the way of the red Sea, as the Lord spake vnto me: and we compassed mount Seir a long time.
2 Und Jehovah sprach zu mir und Er sagte:
And the Lord spake vnto me, saying,
3 Es ist viel für euch, das Gebirge zu umziehen; wendet euch gegen Mitternacht.
Ye haue compassed this mountaine long ynough: turne you Northward.
4 Und dem Volke gebiete und sprich: Ihr durchziehet nun die Grenze eurer Brüder, der Söhne Esau, die in Seir wohnen, und sie fürchten euch. Hütet euch aber sehr!
And warne thou the people, saying, Ye shall go through the coast of your brethren the children of Esau, which dwell in Seir, and they shall be afraide of you: take ye good heede therefore.
5 Hebe nicht Streit an mit ihnen, denn keinen fußbreit von ihrem Land werde Ich euch geben, denn das Gebirge Seir habe Ich Esau zum Erbbesitz gegeben.
Ye shall not prouoke them: for I wil not giue you of their land so much as a foot breadth, because I haue giuen mount Seir vnto Esau for a possession.
6 Speise sollt ihr um Silber von ihnen kaufen, auf daß ihr esset, und auch das Wasser sollt ihr um Silber von ihnen einkaufen und trinken.
Ye shall buy meate of them for money to eate, and ye shall also procure water of them for money to drinke.
7 Denn Jehovah, dein Gott, hat dich gesegnet in allem Tun deiner Hand; Er wußte um dein Ziehen in dieser großen Wüste. Die vierzig Jahre war Jehovah, dein Gott, mit dir, und es mangelte dir an nichts.
For the Lord thy God hath blessed thee in all the workes of thine hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wildernes, and the Lord thy God hath bene with thee this fourtie yeere, and thou hast lacked nothing.
8 Und wir zogen vorüber an unseren Brüdern, den Söhnen Esaus, die auf Seir wohnen, ab von dem Wege durch das Flachland, von Elath und von Ezion Geber, und wandten uns und zogen hin auf dem Wege nach der Wüste Moab.
And when we were departed from our brethren the children of Esau which dwelt in Seir, through the way of the plaine, from Elath, and from Ezion-gaber, we turned and went by the way of the wildernes of Moab.
9 Und Jehovah sprach zu mir: Bedränge nicht Moab und hebe nicht Streit an mit ihnen, denn Ich will dir nichts von seinem Land zum Erbbesitz geben, weil Ich den Söhnen Lots Ar zum Erbbesitz gegeben.
Then the Lord sayd vnto me, Thou shalt not vexe Moab, neither prouoke them to battel: for I wil not giue thee of their land for a possession, because I haue giuen Ar vnto the children of Lot for a possession.
10 Die Emim hatten vordem darin gewohnt, ein Volk, groß und viel und hoch, wie die Enakim.
The Emims dwelt therein in times past, a people great and many, and tall, as the Anakims.
11 Auch sie wurden, wie die Enakim, unter die Riesen gerechnet, die Moabiter aber nannten sie Emim.
They also were taken for gyants as the Anakims: whom the Moabites call Emims.
12 In Seir aber hatten vordem die Choriter gewohnt; und die Söhne Esaus trieben sie aus und vernichteten sie vor sich her, und wohnten an ihrer Statt, wie Israel mit dem Lande seines Erbbesitzes tat, das Jehovah ihnen gegeben hat.
The Horims also dwelt in Seir before time, whome the children of Esau chased out and destroyed them before them, and dwelt in their steade: as Israel shall doe vnto the land of his possession, which the Lord hath giuen them.
13 Nun machet euch auf und setzet über den Bach Sered. Und wir setzten über den Bach Sered.
Now rise vp, sayd I, and get you ouer the riuer Zered: and we went ouer the riuer Zered.
14 Und die Tage, in denen wir von Kadesch Barnea zogen, bis daß wir über den Bach Sered setzten, waren achtunddreißig Jahre, bis das ganze Geschlecht der Kriegsleute aus der Mitte des Lagers alle ward, wie Jehovah ihnen geschworen hatte.
The space also wherein we came from Kadesh-barnea, vntill we were come ouer the riuer Zered, was eight and thirtie yeeres, vntill all the generation of the men of warre were wasted out from among the hoste, as the Lord sware vnto them.
15 Und auch die Hand Jehovahs war wider sie, auf daß Er sie aus der Mitte des Lagers austilgte, bis sie alle wurden.
For in deede the hand of the Lord was against them, to destroy them from among the hoste, till they were consumed.
16 Und es geschah, als alle Kriegsleute aus der Mitte des Volkes alle waren, daß sie gestorben,
So when all the men of warre were consumed and dead from among the people:
17 Daß Jehovah zu mir redete und sprach:
Then the Lord spake vnto me, saying,
18 Du setzest heute über Moabs Grenze, an Ar vorbei.
Thou shalt goe through Ar the coast of Moab this day:
19 Und wirst nahe kommen gegenüber den Söhnen Ammons. Bedränge sie nicht und hebe nicht Streit an mit ihnen, denn Ich werde dir nichts vom Lande der Söhne Ammon zum Erbbesitze geben, denn Ich gab es den Söhnen Lots zum Erbbesitz.
And thou shalt come neere ouer against the children of Ammon: but shalt not lay siege vnto them, nor moue warre against them: for I will not giue thee of the land of the children of Ammon any possession: for I haue giuen it vnto the children of Lot for a possession.
20 Als ein Land von Riesen ward auch dieses gerechnet, Riesen wohnten vordem darinnen; und die Ammoniter nannten sie Samsummim.
That also was taken for a land of gyants: for gyants dwelt therein afore time, whome the Ammonites called Zamzummims:
21 Ein Volk war es, groß und viel und hoch, wie die Enakim; aber Jehovah vernichtete sie vor ihnen und trieb sie aus und sie wohnten an ihrer Statt,
A people that was great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims: but the Lord destroyed them before them, and they succeeded them in their inheritance, and dwelt in their stead:
22 Wie Er getan hatte für die Söhne Esaus, die da wohnen in Seir, vor denen Er die Choriter vernichtete und sie austrieb; und sie wohnten an ihrer Statt bis auf diesen Tag.
As he did to the children of Esau which dwell in Seir, when he destroyed the Horims before them, and they possessed them, and dwelt in their stead vnto this day.
23 Und die Avim, die in Dörfern wohnten bis Gazah, die Kaphthorim, die von Kaphthor ausgingen, vernichteten sie; und sie wohnten an ihrer Statt.
And the Auims which dwelt in Hazarim euen vnto Azzah, the Caphtorims which came out of Caphtor destroyed them, and dwelt in their steade.
24 Machet euch auf, brechet auf und setzet über den Bach Arnon. Siehe, Ich habe Sichon, den König von Cheschbon, den Amoriter und sein Land in deine Hand gegeben. Fang an, nimm es ein, hebe Streit an mit ihm.
Rise vp therefore, sayd the Lord: take your iourney, and passe ouer the riuer Arnon: beholde, I haue giuen into thy hand Sihon, the Amorite, King of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possesse it and prouoke him to battell.
25 Diesen Tag will Ich anfangen zu geben Schauer und Furcht vor dir über die Völker unter dem ganzen Himmel, und sie werden zittern und beben vor deinem Angesicht, wenn sie das Gerücht von dir hören.
This day wil I begin to send thy feare and thy dread, vpon all people vnder the whole heauen, which shall heare thy fame, and shall tremble and quake before thee.
26 Und ich sandte Boten aus der Wüste Kedemoth an Sichon, den König von Cheschbon, mit Worten des Friedens und sprach:
Then I sent messengers out of the wildernes of Kedemoth vnto Sihon King of Heshbon, with wordes of peace, saying,
27 Ich will dein Land durchziehen, will nur auf dem Wege gehen, weder zur Rechten, noch zur Linken abweichen.
Let me passe through thy land: I will go by the hie way: I will neither turne vnto the right hand nor to the left.
28 Speise sollst du mir um Silber verkaufen, daß ich esse, und Wasser mir geben um Silber, daß ich trinke. Nur laß mich durchziehen zu Fuß;
Thou shalt sell me meate for money, for to eate, and shalt giue me water for money for to drinke: onely I will go through on my foote,
29 Wie mir Esaus Söhne taten, die da wohnen in Seir, und die Moabiter, die da wohnen in Ar, bis daß ich über den Jordan übersetze in das Land, das Jehovah, unser Gott, uns gibt.
(As the children of Esau which dwell in Seir, and the Moabites which dwell in Ar, did vnto me) vntill I be come ouer Iorden, into the land which the Lord our God giueth vs.
30 Und Sichon, Cheschbons König, war nicht willens, uns da durchziehen zu lassen, weil Jehovah, dein Gott, seinen Geist verhärtete und sein Herz verstockte, auf daß Er ihn in deine Hand gebe, wie es heutzutage ist.
But Sihon the King of Heshbon would not let vs passe by him: for the Lord thy God had hardened his spirit, and made his heart obstinate, because hee would deliuer him into thine hand, as appeareth this day.
31 Und Jehovah sprach zu mir: Siehe, Ich habe angefangen, Sichon und sein Land vor dir zu geben. Fange an, nimm ein, um sein Land einzunehmen.
And the Lord sayd vnto me, Beholde, I haue begun to giue Sihon and his land before thee: begin to possesse and inherite his land.
32 Und Sichon ging aus, uns entgegen, er und all sein Volk zum Streite nach Jahza.
Then came out Sihon to meete vs, him selfe with all his people to fight at Iahaz.
33 Und Jehovah, unser Gott, gab ihn vor uns, und wir schlugen ihn und seine Söhne und all sein Volk.
But the Lord our God deliuered him into our power, and we smote him, and his sonnes, and all his people.
34 Und wir eroberten zu selbiger Zeit alle seine Städte und bannten in jeder Stadt Männer, Weiber und Kindlein und ließen keinen Rest verbleiben.
And we tooke all his cities the same time, and destroyed euery citie, men, and women, and children: we let nothing remaine.
35 Nur das Vieh raubten wir für uns und die Beute der Städte, die wir eroberten.
Onely the cattell we tooke to our selues, and the spoyle of the cities which we tooke,
36 Von Aroer an, das am Ufer des Baches Arnon, und die Stadt, die in dem Bachtale liegt, und bis Gilead war keine Stadt zu erhaben für uns; alle gab Jehovah vor uns hin.
From Aroer, which is by the banke of the riuer of Arnon, and from the citie that is vpon the riuer, euen vnto Gilead: there was not one citie that escaped vs: for the Lord our God deliuered vp all before vs.
37 Nur dem Land der Söhne Ammons bist du nicht nahe gekommen, allem, das am Ufer des Baches Jabboks ist, noch den Städten auf dem Gebirge, noch irgend etwas, das Jehovah, unser Gott, verboten hat.
Onely vnto the land of the children of Ammon thou camest not, nor vnto any place of the riuer Iabbok, nor vnto the cities in the mountaines, nor vnto whatsoeuer the Lord our God forbade vs.
