5 Mose 14

1 Ihr seid Söhne Jehovahs, eures Gottes, ihr sollt euch keine Einschnitte machen, noch euch zwischen euren Augen kahl machen um eines Toten willen.

You are the children of the LORD your God: you shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.

2 Denn du bist ein heiliges Volk Jehovah, deinem Gott, und dich hat Jehovah erwählt, daß du Ihm ein Volk des Eigentums vor allen Völkern, auf dem Angesichte des Bodens seiest.

For you are an holy people to the LORD your God, and the LORD has chosen you to be a peculiar people to himself, above all the nations that are on the earth.

3 Du sollst nichts essen, das ein Greuel ist.

You shall not eat any abominable thing.

4 Dies ist das Vieh, das du essen darfst: Ochse, Junges der Schafe und Junges der Ziegen.

These are the beasts which you shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat,

5 Hirsch und Reh und Damhirsch, Steinbock und Antilope und Büffelochs und Samer.

The hart, and the roebuck, and the fallow deer, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the wild ox, and the chamois.

6 Und alles Vieh, das durchbrochene Hufe, und in zwei Klauen gespaltene Hufe hat, und wiederkäut unter dem Vieh, das dürfet ihr essen.

And every beast that parts the hoof, and separates the cleft into two claws, and chews the cud among the beasts, that you shall eat.

7 Nur das sollt ihr nicht essen von den Wiederkäuenden und von denen, welche Hufe mit gespaltenen Klauben haben: Das Kamel, den Hasen und das Kaninchen; denn wiederkäuend sind sie, aber sie spalten den Huf nicht. Unrein seien sie euch.

Nevertheless these you shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean to you.

8 Und das Schwein; denn es spaltet zwar den Huf, ist aber nicht wiederkäuend; unrein sei es euch. Von ihrem Fleisch sollt ihr nicht essen, noch ihr Aas berühren.

And the swine, because it divides the hoof, yet chews not the cud, it is unclean to you: you shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcass.

9 Das dürfet ihr essen von allem, was im Wasser ist: Alles, was Flossen hat und Schuppen, dürfet ihr essen.

These you shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall you eat:

10 Alles aber, was keine Flossen und Schuppen hat, sollt ihr nicht essen. Es sei euch unrein.

And whatever has not fins and scales you may not eat; it is unclean to you.

11 Alle reine Vögel dürft ihr essen.

Of all clean birds you shall eat.

12 Und das sind die von ihnen, so ihr nicht essen sollt: Der Adler und der Seeadler und der Lämmergeier.

But these are they of which you shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,

13 Und der Weihe und der Falke und der Geier nach seiner Art.

And the glede, and the kite, and the vulture after his kind,

14 Und alle Raben nach ihrer Art.

And every raven after his kind,

15 Und das Käuzlein und der Strauß und die Möwe und der Habicht nach seiner Art.

And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,

16 Der Uhu, die Eule und die Dohle.

The little owl, and the great owl, and the swan,

17 Und der Pelikan und der Aasgeier und der Taucher.

And the pelican, and the gier eagle, and the cormorant,

18 Und der Storch und der Reiher nach seiner Art, und der Wiedehopf und die Fledermaus.

And the stork, and the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.

19 Und alles kriechende Gevögel sei euch unrein. Man darf es nicht essen.

And every creeping thing that flies is unclean to you: they shall not be eaten.

20 Alles reine Gevögel dürft ihr essen.

But of all clean fowls you may eat.

21 Kein Aas sollt ihr essen. Dem Fremdling, der in deinen Toren ist, magst du es geben, daß er es esse, oder verkaufe es einem Auswärtigen; denn du bist ein heiliges Volk Jehovah, deinem Gott. Das Böcklein sollst du nicht in der Milch seiner Mutter kochen.

You shall not eat of anything that dies of itself: you shall give it to the stranger that is in your gates, that he may eat it; or you may sell it to an alien: for you are an holy people to the LORD your God. You shall not seethe a kid in his mother’s milk.

22 Du sollst verzehnten allen Ertrag deiner Saat, das, was aus dem Felde ausgeht Jahr für Jahr.

You shall truly tithe all the increase of your seed, that the field brings forth year by year.

23 Und du sollst vor Jehovah, deinem Gott, an dem Ort, den Er erwählen wird, Seinen Namen daselbst wohnen zu lassen, essen den Zehnten deines Korns, deines Mostes und deines Öls, und die Erstlinge deines Rindviehs und deines Kleinviehs, auf daß du lernest Jehovah, deinen Gott, fürchten alle Tage.

And you shall eat before the LORD your God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of your corn, of your wine, and of your oil, and the firstborn of your herds and of your flocks; that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always.

24 Und wenn dir des Weges zu viel ist, daß du es nicht hinzutragen vermagst, weil der Ort, den Jehovah, dein Gott, erwählen wird, Seinen Namen daselbst einzusetzen, zu fern für dich ist, wenn dich Jehovah, dein Gott, gesegnet hat;

And if the way be too long for you, so that you are not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from you, which the LORD your God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD your God has blessed you:

25 So gib es in Silber und fasse das Silber in deine Hand und gehe an den Ort, den Jehovah, dein Gott, Sich wird erwählen.

Then shall you turn it into money, and bind up the money in your hand, and shall go to the place which the LORD your God shall choose:

26 Und das Silber magst du geben für alles, was deine Seele gelüstet, für Rindvieh und für Kleinvieh, und für Wein und für starkes Getränk, und für alles, nach dem deine Seele verlangt, und sollst essen daselbst vor Jehovah, deinem Gott, und fröhlich sein, du und dein Haus.

And you shall bestow that money for whatever your soul lusts after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatever your soul desires: and you shall eat there before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice, you, and your household,

27 Und den Leviten, der in deinen Toren ist, ihn sollst du nicht verlassen; denn er hat keinen Teil und kein Erbe mit dir.

And the Levite that is within your gates; you shall not forsake him; for he has no part nor inheritance with you.

28 Am Ende dreier Jahre sollst du herausbringen all den Zehnten deines Ertrages in diesem Jahr und ihn niederlegen in deinen Toren.

At the end of three years you shall bring forth all the tithe of your increase the same year, and shall lay it up within your gates:

29 Und der Levite, weil er kein Teil und Erbe mit dir hat, komme, und der Fremdling, und die Waise und die Witwe, die in deinen Toren sind, und sie sollen essen und satt werden, damit Jehovah, dein Gott, dich segne in allem Tun deiner Hand, das du tust.

And the Levite, (because he has no part nor inheritance with you, ) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within your gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.
