Kolosser 3
1 Seid ihr nun mit Christus auferweckt, so trachtet nach dem, was droben ist, wo Christus zur Rechten Gottes sitzt;
If, then, ye were raised with the Christ, the things above seek ye, where the Christ is, on the right hand of God seated,
2 Trachtet nach dem, was droben ist, und nicht nach dem, was auf Erden ist.
the things above mind ye, not the things upon the earth,
3 Ihr seid ja gestorben, und euer Leben ist mit Christus verborgen in Gott.
for ye did die, and your life hath been hid with the Christ in God;
4 Wann Christus, unser Leben, geoffenbart wird, dann werdet ihr auch mit Ihm in Herrlichkeit offenbar werden.
when the Christ — our life — may be manifested, then also we with him shall be manifested in glory.
5 So tötet nun eure Glieder, die da irdisch sind, Hurerei, Unreinheit, Leidenschaft, böse Lust, Habsucht, die Götzendienst sind;
Put to death, then, your members that [are] upon the earth — whoredom, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and the covetousness, which is idolatry —
6 Um derentwillen der Zorn Gottes über die Kinder des Unglaubens kommt;
because of which things cometh the anger of God upon the sons of the disobedience,
7 In denen auch ihr einst gewandelt habt, als ihr unter ihnen lebtet.
in which also ye — ye did walk once, when ye lived in them;
8 Nun aber legt auch ihr alles ab, Zorn, Unmut, Bosheit, Lästerung, schandbare Worte, die aus eurem Munde gehen.
but now put off, even ye, the whole — anger, wrath, malice, evil-speaking, filthy talking — out of your mouth.
9 Belügt einander nicht! Zieht den alten Menschen mit seinen Werken aus;
Lie not one to another, having put off the old man with his practices,
10 Und zieht den neuen an, der erneuert wird zur Erkenntnis nach dem Ebenbilde Dessen, Der ihn geschaffen hat;
and having put on the new, which is renewed in regard to knowledge, after the image of Him who did create him;
11 Da gilt nicht Heide, noch Jude, noch Beschneidung, noch Vorhaut, noch Ausländer, Skythe, Knecht, noch Freier, sondern alles und in allen ist Christus.
where there is not Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, foreigner, Scythian, servant, freeman — but the all and in all — Christ.
12 So zieht nun an, als Gottes Auserwählte, Heilige und Geliebte, herzliches Erbarmen, Wohlwollen, Demut, Sanftmut und Langmut.
Put on, therefore, as choice ones of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humble-mindedness, meekness, long-suffering,
13 Seid verträglich gegeneinander und haltet einander etwas zugut, wenn einer etwas gegen den anderen zu klagen hat, wie Christus auch euch vieles vergeben hat, so tut auch ihr.
forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any one with any one may have a quarrel, as also the Christ did forgive you — so also ye;
14 Über alles dieses aber
and above all these things, [have] love, which is a bond of the perfection,
15 Und Christi Friede herrsche in euren Herzen, wozu ihr auch berufen seid in einem Leib, und seid dankbar dafür.
and let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also ye were called in one body, and become thankful.
16 Das Wort Christi wohne reichlich unter euch in aller Weisheit, lehrt und ermahnt einander mit Psalmen, Lobgesängen und geistlichen Liedern und singt in Dankbarkeit dem Herrn in euren Herzen.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing each other, in psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, in grace singing in your hearts to the Lord;
17 Und alles, was ihr tut in Wort oder Tat, das tut alles im Namen des Herrn Jesus, indem ihr Gott dem Vater durch Ihn dankt.
and all, whatever ye may do in word or in work, [do] all things in the name of the Lord Jesus — giving thanks to the God and Father, through him.
18 Ihr Weiber, seid untertan euren Männern in dem Herrn, wie es sich gebührt.
The wives! be subject to your own husbands, as is fit in the Lord;
19 Ihr Männer, liebt eure Weiber und werdet nicht bitter gegen sie.
the husbands! love your wives, and be not bitter with them;
20 Ihr Kinder, gehorcht in allem euren Eltern, denn dies ist dem Herrn wohlgefällig.
the children! obey the parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord;
21 Ihr Väter, reizt eure Kinder nicht, daß sie nicht mutlos werden.
the fathers! vex not your children, lest they be discouraged.
22 Ihr Knechte, gehorcht in allen Stücken euren leiblichen Herren, nicht mit Augendienerei, als wolltet ihr Menschen gefallen, sondern in Einfalt des Herzens und aus Gottesfurcht,
The servants! obey in all things those who are masters according to the flesh, not in eye-service as men-pleasers, but in simplicity of heart, fearing God;
23 Und alles, was ihr tut, das tut von Herzen, als dem Herrn und nicht den Menschen.
and all, whatever ye may do — out of soul work — as to the Lord, and not to men,
24 Und seid eingedenk, daß ihr von dem Herrn empfangen werdet die Vergeltung des Erbes; denn dem Herrn Christus dient ihr.
having known that from the Lord ye shall receive the recompense of the inheritance — for the Lord Christ ye serve;
25 Wer aber Unrecht tut, der wird empfangen, was er Unrecht getan, und da findet kein Ansehen der Person statt.
and he who is doing unrighteously shall receive what he did unrighteously, and there is no acceptance of persons.
