Amos 6
1 Wehe den Sorglosen in Zion und den Sicheren auf dem Berge Schomrons, die der Erstling der Völkerschaften benannt werden, und zu denen das Haus Israel kommt.
Woe to them that are at ease in Zion and trust in the moutaine of Samaria, which were famous at the beginning of the nations: and the house of Israel came to them.
2 Geht hinüber nach Chalneh, und seht, und geht von da nach Chamath der Großen, und geht hinab nach Gath der Philister. Seid ihr besser als diese Königreiche? Ist ihre Grenze größer als eure Grenze?
Goe you vnto Calneh, and see: and from thence goe you to Hamath the great: then goe downe to Gath of the Philistims: be they better then these kingdomes? or the border of their land greater then your border,
3 Die ihr weit hinausschiebt den bösen Tag, und herbeizieht der Gewalttat Sitz;
Ye that put farre away the euill day, and approch to the seate of iniquitie?
4 Die da liegen auf Betten von Elfenbein und üppig hingestreckt auf ihren Ruhebetten, und essen Lämmer von der Herde und Kälber aus der Mitte des Maststalls;
They lie vpon beddes of yuorie, and stretch themselues vpon their beddes, and eate the lambes of the flocke, and the calues out of the stall.
5 Die Lieder anstimmen, zu des Psalters Klang, und wie David sich Instrumente zum Dazusingen ausdenken.
They sing to the sounde of the viole: they inuent to themselues instruments of musike like Dauid.
6 Sie trinken aus Schalen den Wein und salben sich mit dem Erstling des Öls, und tragen nicht Leid um den Bruch Josephs.
They drinke wine in bowles, and anoynt themselues with the chiefe ointments, but no man is sory for the affliction of Ioseph.
7 Darum werden sie weggeführt an der Spitze der Weggeführten, und fortgewichen ist das Jubilieren der üppig Hingestreckten.
Therefore nowe shall they go captiue with the first that go captiue, and the sorow of them that stretched themselues, is at hand.
8 Geschworen hat der Herr Jehovah bei Seiner Seele. Es spricht Jehovah, der Gott der Heerscharen: Zum Greuel ist Mir der Stolz Jakobs, und Ich hasse seine Paläste und überantworte die Stadt und ihre Fülle.
The Lord God hath sworne by himselfe, saith the Lord God of hostes, I abhorre the excellencie of Iaakob, and hate his palaces: therefore wil I deliuer vp the citie with all that is therein.
9 Und es wird geschehen, wenn zehn Männer in einem Hause übrig wären, so sollen sie sterben.
And if there remaine ten men in one house, they shall die.
10 Und es hebt einen sein Oheim und der ihn verbrennt auf, um die Gebeine aus dem Hause hinauszubringen, und spricht zu dem, der an der hinteren Seite des Hauses ist: Ist noch jemand bei dir? Und er sagt: Niemand. Und er wird sprechen: Still! denn des Namens Jehovahs ist nicht zu gedenken.
And his vncle shall take him vp and burne him to cary out the bones out of the house, and shall say vnto him, that is by ye sides of the house, Is there yet any with thee? And he shall say, None. Then shall he say, Holde thy tongue: for we may not remember the Name of the Lord.
11 Den siehe, Jehovah hat es geboten, und hat das große Haus mit Ritzen geschlagen und das kleine Haus mit Rissen.
For behold, the Lord commandeth, and he will smite the great house with breaches, and the litle house with clefts.
12 Laufen auch Rosse auf der Felsenklippe? Pflügt man dort mit Rindern? Denn ihr habt das Recht in Galle verwandelt, und in Wermut die Frucht der Gerechtigkeit.
Shal horses runne vpon the rocke? or wil one plowe there with oxen? for yee haue turned iudgement into gall, and the fruite of righteousnes into wormewood.
13 Ihr seid fröhlich über das, was nichts ist, und sprecht: Haben wir nicht mit unserer Stärke uns Hörner geholt?
Ye reioyce in a thing of nought: yee say, Haue not wee gotten vs hornes by our owne strength?
14 Denn siehe, Ich lasse erstehen wider euch vom Hause Israel, spricht Jehovah, der Gott der Heerscharen, eine Völkerschaft, die soll euch bedrücken von da an, wo man nach Chamath kommt, bis an den Bach der Einöde.
But behold, I wil raise vp against you a nation, O house of Israel, sayeth the Lord God of hostes: and they shall afflict you, from the entring in of Hamath vnto the riuer of the wildernes.
