2 Samuel 5

1 Und alle Stämme Israels kamen zu David nach Chebron und sprachen und sagten: Siehe, wir sind dein Gebein und dein Fleisch.

Then came all the tribes of Israel to David to Hebron, and spoke, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.

2 Schon gestern und ehegestern, da Saul König über uns war, warst du es, der Israel ausziehen und einziehen ließ. Und Jehovah hat zu dir gesprochen: Du sollst Mein Volk Israel weiden und du sollst ein Führer über Israel sein.

Even aforetime, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel; and Jehovah said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be prince over Israel.

3 Und es kamen alle Ältesten Israels zu dem Könige nach Chebron, und der König David schloß in Chebron einen Bund mit ihnen vor Jehovah, und sie salbten David zum König über Israel.

And all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Jehovah; and they anointed David king over Israel.

4 Dreißig Jahre war David alt, als er König wurde, und er regierte vierzig Jahre.

David was thirty years old when he began to reign; he reigned forty years.

5 In Chebron regierte er über Judah sieben Jahre und sechs Monate, und in Jerusalem regierte er dreiunddreißig Jahre über ganz Israel und Judah.

In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months; and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.

6 Und der König und seine Männer zogen nach Jerusalem gegen den Jebusiter, der im Lande wohnte; und er sagte zu David und sprach: Du wirst nicht da hereinkommen, schon die Blinden und Lahmen werden dich weghalten, als sagten sie: David wird nicht da hereinkommen.

And the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land; and they spoke to David, saying, Thou shalt not come in hither, but the blind and the lame will drive thee back; as much as to say, David will not come in hither.

7 Aber David eroberte die feste Zijon, das ist die Stadt Davids.

But David took the stronghold of Zion, which is the city of David.

8 Und David sprach an selbigem Tage: Jeglicher, der den Jebusiter schlägt und die Rinne berührt und die Lahmen und Blinden, die der Seele Davids verhaßt sind, - darum sagt man, ein Blinder und ein Lahmer komme nicht zum Haus.

And David said on that day, Whoever smites the Jebusites and gets up to the watercourse, and the lame and the blind hated of David's soul...! Therefore they say, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.

9 Und David wohnte in der Feste und nannte sie Stadt Davids. Und David baute rings herum an, von Millo einwärts.

So David dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from the Millo and inward.

10 Und David wurde immer größer, und Jehovah, der Gott der Heerscharen, war mit ihm.

And David became continually greater; and Jehovah the God of hosts was with him.

11 Und Chiram, der König von Zor sandte Boten an David und Zedernholz und Werkleute in Holz und Werkleute in Stein der Mauer und sie bauten dem David ein Haus.

And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, and carpenters, and masons; and they built David a house.

12 Und David erkannte, daß Jehovah ihn als König über Israel befestigte, und daß Er sein Königreich erhob wegen Seines Volkes Israel.

And David perceived that Jehovah had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom because of his people Israel.

13 Und David nahm noch Kebsweiber und Weiber von Jerusalem, nachdem er von Chebron gekommen war, und es wurden dem David noch Söhne und Töchter geboren.

And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he had come from Hebron; and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.

14 Und das sind die Namen derer, die ihm in Jerusalem geboren wurden: Schammua und Schobab und Nathan und Salomo,

And these are the names of those that were born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,

15 Und Jibchar und Elischua und Nepheg und Japhia,

and Ibhar, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,

16 Und Elischama und Eljada und Eliphalet.

and Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphelet.

17 Und die Philister hörten, daß sie David zum König über Israel gesalbt, und es zogen alle Philister herauf, David aufzusuchen. Und David hörte es und zog hinab in die Feste.

And the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, and all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard [of it], and went down to the stronghold.

18 Und die Philister kamen und breiteten sich aus im Talgrunde Rephaim.

And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

19 Und David fragte bei Jehovah an und sprach: Soll ich gegen die Philister hinaufziehen, wirst Du sie in meine Hand geben? Und Jehovah sprach zu David: Zieh hinauf, denn fürwahr, Ich gebe die Philister in deine Hand.

And David inquired of Jehovah, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? wilt thou give them into my hand? And Jehovah said to David, Go up; for I will certainly give the Philistines into thy hand.

20 Und David kam nach Baal-Perazim, und David schlug sie daselbst und sprach: Jehovah hat meine Feinde vor mir durchbrochen, wie die Wasser durchbrechen. Darum nannte er den Namen des Ortes Baal-Perazim.

And David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there; and he said, Jehovah has broken in upon mine enemies before me, as the breaking forth of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim.

21 Und sie verließen daselbst ihre Götzenbilder, und David mit seinen Männern hob sie auf.

And they left their images there, and David and his men took them away.

22 Und die Philister zogen abermals herauf und breiteten sich aus im Talgrunde Rephaim.

And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

23 Und David fragte bei Jehovah an, und Er sprach: Du sollst nicht hinaufziehen, sondern ziehe herum, hinter sie, so daß du wider sie kommst gegenüber den Maulbeerbäumen.

And David inquired of Jehovah; and he said, Thou shalt not go up; turn round behind them and come upon them opposite the mulberry-trees.

24 Und es geschehe, wenn du hörst das Rauschen des Einherschreitens in den Wipfeln der Maulbeerbäume, dann hauet ein, denn dann zieht Jehovah vor dir aus, das Lager der Philister zu schlagen.

And it shall be, when thou hearest a sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry-trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself; for then will Jehovah have gone forth before thee, to smite the army of the Philistines.

25 Und David tat so, wie Jehovah ihm geboten hatte, und schlug die Philister von Geba bis du kommst nach Geser.

And David did so, as Jehovah had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou comest to Gezer.
