2 Samuel 16

1 Und David war ein wenig über die Spitze hinübergegangen, und siehe, da kam ihm Ziba, Mephiboscheths Junge entgegen, und ein Paar gesattelte Esel und zweihundert Brote auf denselben und hundert Rosinentrauben und hundert Fruchtkuchen und ein Schlauch Wein.

And when David was passed a little beyond the top [of the mount], behold, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth came toward him, with a couple of asses saddled, and upon them two hundred loaves of bread, and a hundred bunches of raisins, and a hundred [cakes] of dried figs, and a bottle of wine.

2 Und der König sprach zu Ziba: Was sollen dir diese? Und Ziba sprach: Die Esel sind für das Haus des Königs zum Reiten, und die Brote und Fruchtkuchen zum Essen für die Jungen, und der Wein zum Trinken für den, der in der Wüste matt wird.

And the king said unto Ziba, What meanest thou with these? And Ziba said, The asses are for the king's household to ride on; and the bread and the dried figs for the young men to eat; and the wine to drink for such as may be faint in the wilderness.

3 Und der König sprach: Und wo ist der Sohn deines Herrn? Und Ziba sprach zu dem Könige: Siehe, der blieb in Jerusalem; denn sprach er, heute wird mir das Haus Israels das Königreich meines Vaters zurückgeben.

And the king said, And where is thy master's son? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he remaineth at Jerusalem; for he said, Today will the house of Israel restore unto me the kingdom of my father.

4 Und der König sprach zu Ziba: Siehe, dein ist alles, was Mephiboscheth hat; und Ziba sprach: Ich bete an, laß mich Gnade finden in deinen Augen, mein Herr König!

Then said the king to Ziba, Behold, thine shall be all that pertaineth unto Mephibosheth. And Ziba said, I prostrate myself; let me but find grace in thy eyes, my Lord, O king.

5 Und König David kam gen Bachurim und siehe, es kam von da heraus ein Mann von der Familie des Hauses Sauls, und sein Name Schimei, ein Sohn Geras, und er fluchte ihm, da er herauskam,

And when King David came as far as Bachurim, behold, there came out thence a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name was Shim'i, the son of Gera, coming forth, and cursing.

6 Und steinigte mit Steinen den David und alle die Knechte des Königs David, und alles Volk und alle Helden waren ihm zur Rechten und zur Linken.

And he cast stones at David, and at all the servants of king David: and all the people and all the mighty men were on his right and on his left.

7 Und also sprach Schimei, da er ihm fluchte: Geh hinaus, geh hinaus, du Mann des Blutes und Mann Belials.

And thus said Shim'i as he cursed, Away, away, thou man of blood, and thou worthless man!

8 Jehovah bringt auf dich zurück all das Blut vom Hause Sauls, an dessen Stelle du König geworden. Und Jehovah hat das Königtum in die Hand Absaloms, deines Sohnes, gegeben, und siehe, du bist im Bösen; denn ein Mann des Blutes bist du!

The Lord hath brought back upon thee all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead thou didst reign; and the Lord hath placed the kingdom into the hand of Abshalom thy son; and, behold, thou art now in thy misfortune, because a man of blood art thou.

9 Und Abischai, der Sohn Zerujahs, sprach zum König: Was soll der tote Hund da meinem Herrn, dem König, fluchen? Laß mich doch hinübergehen und ihm den Kopf abhauen.

Then said Abishai the son of Zeruyah unto the king, Why should this dead dog curse my Lord the king? let me go over, I pray thee, and remove his head.

10 Und der König sprach: Was habe ich mit euch, ihr Söhne Zerujahs? Lasset ihn fluchen, und hat Jehovah zu ihm gesprochen: Fluche David! Wer darf da sagen: Warum hast du also getan?

And the king said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruyah? so let him curse; because the Lord hath said unto him, Curse David. Who shall then say, Wherefore hast thou done so?

11 Und David sprach zu Abischai und zu allen seinen Knechten: Siehe, mein Sohn, der aus meinen Lenden ausgegangen, trachtet mir nach der Seele, warum dann nicht ein Sohn Jemini? Lasset ihn ruhen, daß er fluche; denn Jehovah hat es ihm gesagt.

And David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, Behold, my son, who hath come forth out of my own body, seeketh my life: how much more now this Benjamite? let him alone, and let him curse; for the Lord hath said it to him.

12 Vielleicht sieht Jehovah mein Elend an, und Jehovah bringt mir wieder Gutes für seinen Fluch an diesem Tage.

Perhaps the Lord will look on my affliction, and the Lord will requite me good instead of his cursing this day.

13 Und David und seine Männer gingen des Weges; aber Schimei ging an der Seite des Berges hin neben ihm und fluchte und warf Steine wider ihn und bestäubte ihn mit Staub.

And David and his men went [thus] on the way. And Shim'i went on the side of the mount opposite to him, and cursed as he went, and threw stones toward him, and cast dust.

14 Und der König und alles Volk, das mit ihm war, kamen hin ermattet, und erholten sich daselbst.

And the king, and all the people that were with him, arrived weary, and refreshed themselves there.

15 Absalom aber und alles Volk, die Männer aus Israel, kamen nach Jerusalem und Achitophel mit ihm.

And Abshalom, and all the people the men of Israel, came to Jerusalem, and Achithophel [also] with him.

16 Und es geschah, als Chuschai, der Architer, der Genosse Davids, zu Absalom kam, da sprach Chuschai zu Absalom: Es lebe der König! Es lebe der König!

And it came to pass, when Chushai the Arkite, David's friend, was come unto Abshalom, that Chushai said unto Abshalom, Long live the king! Long live the king!

17 Und Absalom sprach zu Chuschai: Ist das deine Barmherzigkeit an deinem Genossen? Warum bist du nicht mit deinem Genossen gegangen?

And Abshalom said to Chushai, Is this thy kindness for thy friend? why art thou not gone with thy friend?

18 Und Chuschai sprach zu Absalom: Nein! Wen Jehovah erwählt und dieses Volk und alle Männer Israels, sein will ich sein und bei dem will ich bleiben.

And Chushai said unto Abshalom, No; but whom the Lord, and this people, and all the men of Israel have chosen, his will I be, and with him will I remain.

19 Und zum zweiten: Wem sollte ich dienen, ist es nicht vor seinem Sohne? Wie ich vor deinem Vater gedient, so will ich vor dir sein.

And secondly, who is it whom I shall serve? is it not in the presence of his son? as I have served in thy father's presence, so will I be in thy presence.

20 Und Absalom sprach zu Achitophel: Gebt Rat für euch, was sollen wir tun?

Then said Abshalom to Achithophel, Hold counsel among yourselves as to what we shall do.

21 Und Achitophel sprach zu Absalom: Gehe hinein zu den Kebsweibern deines Vaters, die er zurückgelassen, das Haus zu hüten; und hört ganz Israel, daß du dich stinkend gemacht hast bei deinem Vater, so stärken sich die Hände aller, die mit dir sind.

And Achithophel said unto Abshalom, Go in unto thy father's concubines, whom he hath left to guard the house; and all Israel will hear that thou art in bad odor with thy father: and then will the hands of all that are with thee become strong.

22 Da schlugen sie dem Absalom das Zelt auf auf dem Dache, und Absalom ging zu den Kebsweibern seines Vaters ein vor den Augen von ganz Israel.

So they spread for Abshalom a tent upon the roof; and Abshalom went in unto his father's concubines before the eyes of all Israel.

23 Und der Rat Achitophels, den er in jenen Tagen riet, war, wie wenn jemand Gott um ein Wort fragte. Also war aller Rat Achitophels, wie bei David, also auch bei Absalom.

And the counsel of Achithophel, which he counseled in those days, was as if a man had asked advice of the word of God: so was all the counsel of Achithophel both with David and with Abshalom.
