1 Und Naaman, der Oberste des Heeres des Königs von Aram, war ein großer Mann vor seinem Herrn und hochgehalten, denn durch ihn gab Jehovah Aram Heil, und der Mann war ein tapferer Held; er war aussätzig.
And Na'aman, the captain of the army of the king of Syria, was a great man before his Lord, and highly honored; because by him had the Lord given victory unto Syria: and this man was valiant in war, [but] a leper.
2 Und Aram war mit Kriegshaufen ausgezogen und sie hatten aus dem Lande Israel ein kleines Mädchen gefangen geführt, und sie war vor dem Weibe Naamans.
And the Syrians had gone out in predatory troops, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maiden; and she waited on Na'aman's wife.
3 Und sie sprach zu ihrer Gebieterin: Ach, wäre doch mein Herr vor dem Propheten in Samaria, dann würde er ihn von seinem Aussatz losmachen.
And she said unto her mistress, Oh that my Lord were but before the prophet that is in Samaria! then would he heal him of his leprosy.
4 Und einer kam und sagte es an seinem Herrn und sprach: So und so hat das Mädchen aus dem Lande Israel geredet.
And he went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus hath spoken the maiden that is from the land of Israel.
5 Und der König von Aram sprach: Geh, und ziehe hin, und ich will einen Brief an den König von Israel senden. Und er ging und nahm in seine Hand zehn Talente Silber und sechstausend Goldstücke und zehn Wechselkleider.
And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of garments.
6 Und man brachte den Brief herein zum König von Israel, der besagte: Und nun, wenn dieser Brief an dich kommt, siehe, so habe ich an dich Naaman, meinen Knecht, gesandt, daß du ihn von seinem Aussatze losmachst.
And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, which said, And now when this letter cometh unto thee, behold, I have sent to thee Na'aman my servant, that thou mayest heal him of his leprosy.
7 Und es geschah, als der König von Israel den Brief las, da zerriß er seine Kleider und sprach: Bin ich Gott, daß ich töte und lebendig mache, daß der da zu mir sendet, ich soll einen Mann von seinem Aussatz losmachen. Wisset doch und sehet es, daß er eine Gelegenheit wider mich sucht.
And it came to pass, when the king of Israel read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this one doth send unto me to heal a man of his leprosy? for know to a certainty, I pray you, and see that he but seeketh a quarrel against me.
8 Und es geschah, als Elischa, der Mann Gottes, hörte, daß der König von Israel seine Kleider zerriß, da sandte er an den König und ließ ihm sagen: Warum hast du deine Kleider zerrissen? Er komme doch zu mir und wisse, daß ein Prophet in Israel da ist.
And it happened, when Elisha' the man of God heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes? let him but come to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.
9 Und Naaman kam mit seinen Rossen und seinem Streitwagen und stand am Eingang zu Elischas Haus.
And Na'aman came with his horses and with his chariot, and remained at the door of the house of Elisha'.
10 Und Elischa sandte einen Boten zu ihm und ließ ihm sagen: Gehe hin und bade dich siebenmal im Jordan, so kehret dir dein Fleisch zurück und du bist rein.
And Elisha' sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and bathe seven times in the Jordan, and thy flesh shall be restored [healthy] to thee, and thou shalt become clean.
11 Und Naaman war entrüstet und ging hin und sagte: Siehe, ich sprach, er wird zu mir herauskommen und stehen und den Namen Jehovahs, seines Gottes, anrufen und seine Hand weben über den Ort und vom Aussatz losmachen.
But Na'aman became wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I had thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the Lord his God, and swing his hand over the place, and heal the leper.
12 Sind nicht der Abanah und Pharphar, Flüsse in Damaskus besser, als alle Wasser Israels, warum könnte ich mich nicht in ihnen baden und rein werden? Und er wandte sich und ging hin im Grimm.
Are not Amanah and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not bathe in them, and become clean? and he turned and went away in a rage.
13 Und seine Knechte traten herzu und redeten zu ihm und sprachen: Mein Vater, hätte der Prophet Großes zu dir geredet, würdest du es nicht tun? um wieviel mehr, da er zu dir gesprochen: Bade und du wirst rein.
And his servants came near, and spoke unto him, and they said, My father, if the prophet had bidden thee a great thing, wouldst thou not do it? how much rather then, when he hath said to thee, Bathe, and become clean?
14 Und er ging hinab und tauchte sich siebenmal im Jordan unter, nach dem Worte des Mannes Gottes, und sein Fleisch kam zurück, wie das Fleisch eines kleinen Jungen, und er war rein.
Then went he down, and dived seven times in the Jordan, according to the word of the man of God: and his flesh was restored [healthy] like the flesh of a little boy, and he became clean.
15 Und er kehrte zurück zu dem Manne Gottes, er und sein ganzes Lager, und ging hinein und stand vor ihm und sprach: Siehe doch, ich weiß, daß kein Gott ist auf der ganzen Erde, außer in Israel, und nun nimm doch einen Segen von deinem Knechte.
And he returned to the man of God, he with all his camp, and came and stood before him, and said, Behold, now I know that there is no god on all the earth, but in Israel; and now, I pray thee, take a present from thy servant.
16 Und er sprach: Beim Leben Jehovahs, vor Dem ich stehe, ich nehme es nicht; und er drang in ihn, es zu nehmen, aber er weigerte sich.
But he said, As the Lord liveth before whom I have stood, I will take none: and he urged him to take it; but he refused.
17 Und Naaman sprach: Wenn also nicht, so werde doch deinem Knechte gegeben vom Boden eine Last für ein Gespann von Maultieren, denn dein Knecht wird hinfort kein Brandopfer und Schlachtopfer anderen Göttern tun, außer Jehovah.
And Na'aman said, If [thou wilt] not, [then] let there be given, I pray thee, unto thy servant two mules' burden of earth; for thy servant will not offer henceforth either burnt-offering or peace-sacrifice unto other gods, except unto the Lord.
18 Nur darin vergebe Jehovah deinem Knechte, wenn mein Herr in das Haus Rimmons eingeht, dort anzubeten, und er sich auf meine Hand stützt, daß ich anbete im Hause Rimmons. Über mein Anbeten im Hause des Rimmon vergebe doch deshalb Jehovah deinem Knechte.
For this thing may the Lord pardon thy servant, that when my Lord goeth into the house of Rimmon to prostrate himself there, and he leaneth on my hand, and I prostrate myself also in the house of Rimmon: when I prostrate myself in the house of Rimmon, may the Lord pardon thy servant for this thing.
19 Und er sprach zu ihm: Gehe hin im Frieden! Und er ging von ihm eine Strecke Landes.
And he said unto him, Go in peace: so he departed from him some distance.
20 Und Gechasi, der Junge Elischas, des Mannes Gottes, sprach: Siehe, mein Herr hat diesen Aramiter Naaman zurückgehalten, so daß er nicht genommen von seiner Hand, was er gebracht hat. Beim Leben Jehovahs, ich laufe ihm nach und nehme etwas von ihm.
But Gechazi, the servant of Elisha' the man of God, said, Behold, my master hath spared Na'aman, this Syrian, in not receiving from his hand what he had brought; but, as the Lord liveth, I will run after him, and take some little thing from him.
21 Und Gechasi setzte dem Naaman nach; und Naaman sah ihn hinter ihm laufen und sprang vom Streitwagen ihm entgegen und sprach: Ist es Frieden?
So Gechazi hurried after Na'aman; and when Na'aman saw him running after him, he lighted doom from the chariot to meet him, and said, Is [all] well?
22 Und er sprach: Es ist Frieden. Mein Herr sandte mich zu sagen: Siehe, soeben kommen zu mir zwei Jungen vom Gebirge Ephraim, von den Söhnen der Propheten. Gib ihnen doch ein Talent Silber und zwei Wechsel von Kleidern.
And he said, [all] is well. My master hath sent me, saying, Behold, even now there are come to me from the mountain of Ephraim two young men of the sons of the prophets: do give them, I pray thee, a talent of silver, and two changes of garments.
23 Und Naaman sprach: Nimm, es beliebe dir, zwei Talente; und er nötigte ihn, und band zwei Talente Silbers in zwei Beutel und zwei Wechselkleider und gab sie zweien seiner Jungen, und sie trugen es vor ihm her.
And Na'aman said, Give thy assent, take two talents. And he urged him, and bound up two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of garments, and he gave them unto his two young men, and they carried them before him.
24 Und er kam an den Hügel, und er nahm es aus ihrer Hand und hob es auf im Hause, und entließ die Männer, und sie gingen hin.
And when he came to the hill, he took them from their hand, and bestowed them in the house: and he dismissed the men, and they departed.
25 Und er kam hinein und stand bei seinem Herrn; und Elischa sprach zu ihm: Woher, Gechasi? Und er sprach: Dein Knecht ist weder dahin noch dorthin gegangen.
But he went in, and stood before his master. And Elisha' said unto him, Whence comest thou, Gechazi? And he said, Thy servant went not hither or thither.
26 Er aber sprach zu ihm: Ging nicht mein Herz hin, wie der Mann von seinem Streitwagen dir entgegen sich umkehrte? Ist es an der Zeit, das Silber zu nehmen und zu nehmen Kleider und Ölbäume und Weinberge und Kleinvieh und Rind und Knechte und Dienstmägde?
And he said unto him, My mind was not gone, when the man turned round from his chariot to meet thee. Is it a time to take money, and to take garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and men-servants, and maid-servants?
27 Aber der Aussatz Naamans hange dir an und deinem Samen in Ewigkeit. Und er ging hinaus von seinem Angesicht, aussätzig wie der Schnee.
May then the leprosy of Na'aman cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper [as white] as snow.
