1 Zwölf Jahre war Menascheh alt, da er König ward, und regierte in Jerusalem fünfundfünfzig Jahre, und der Name seiner Mutter war Chephzi-Bah.

A son of twelve years [is] Manasseh in his reigning, and fifty and five years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Hephzi-Bah;

2 Und er tat, was böse war in den Augen Jehovahs, nach den Greueln der Völkerschaften, die Jehovah vor den Söhnen Israels ausgetrieben hatte.

and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, according to the abominations of the nations that Jehovah dispossessed from the presence of the sons of Israel,

3 Und er baute wiederum die Opferhöhen, die sein Vater Chiskijahu zerstört hatte, und richtete Altäre dem Baal auf und machte eine Aschere, wie Achab, der König von Israel, getan, und betete all das Heer der Himmel an und diente demselben.

and he turneth and buildeth the high places that Hezekiah his father destroyed, and raiseth altars for Baal, and maketh a shrine, as did Ahab king of Israel, and boweth himself to all the host of the heavens, and serveth them.

4 Und er baute Altäre im Hause Jehovahs, von denen Jehovah gesprochen hatte: In Jerusalem will Ich Meinen Namen setzen.

And he hath built altars in the house of Jehovah, of which Jehovah said, 'In Jerusalem I put My name.'

5 Und er baute Altäre all dem Heere der Himmel in den beiden Höfen des Hauses Jehovahs.

And he buildeth altars to all the host of the heavens in the two courts of the house of Jehovah;

6 Und er ließ seinen Sohn durch das Feuer hindurchgehen, und ließ sich aus Wolken und Schlangen wahrsagen, und trieb Geisterbannerei und Zeichendeuterei, und tat vieles, das böse war in den Augen Jehovahs, womit er Ihn reizte.

and he hath caused his son to pass through fire, and observed clouds, and used enchantment, and dealt with a familiar spirit and wizards; he hath multiplied to do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah — to provoke to anger.

7 Und er stellte auch das Schnitzbild der Aschere, die er hatte machen lassen, in das Haus, von dem Jehovah zu David und zu Salomoh, seinem Sohne, gesprochen: In dieses Haus und in Jerusalem, das Ich aus allen Stämmen Israels auserwählt habe, will Ich Meinen Namen setzen in Ewigkeit.

And he setteth the graven image of the shrine that he made in the house of which Jehovah said unto David and unto Solomon his son, 'In this house, and in Jerusalem, that I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I put My name — to the age;

8 Und will den Fuß Israels nicht wiederum umherschweifen lassen von dem Boden, den Ich ihren Vätern gegeben habe, so jedoch, daß sie halten, zu tun nach allem, was Ich ihnen geboten, und nach allem Gesetze, das ihnen Mein Knecht Mose geboten hat.

and I do not add to cause the foot of Israel to move from the ground that I gave to their fathers, only, if they observe to do according to all that I commanded them, and to all the law that My servant Moses commanded them.'

9 Aber sie hörten nicht darauf, und Menascheh führte sie irre, daß sie Böses taten, mehr denn die Völkerschaften, die Jehovah vor den Söhnen Israels vernichtet hatte.

And they have not hearkened, and Manasseh causeth them to err, to do the evil thing above the nations that Jehovah destroyed from the presence of the sons of Israel.

10 Und Jehovah redete durch die Hand seiner Knechte, der Propheten, und sprach:

And Jehovah speaketh by the hand of his servants the prophets, saying,

11 Weil Menascheh, König von Judah, diese Greuel getan, die ärger sind denn alles, was die Amoriter vor ihm taten, und auch Judah durch seine Götzen sündigen machte,

'Because that Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations — he hath done evil above all that the Amorites have done who [are] before him, and causeth also Judah to sin by his idols;

12 Darum - so spricht Jehovah, der Gott Israels: - Siehe, Ich bringe Böses über Jerusalem und Judah, daß allen, die es hören, ihre beiden Ohren gellen sollen;

therefore thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, Lo, I am bringing in evil on Jerusalem and Judah, that whoever heareth of it, tingle do his two ears.

13 Und recke aus über Jerusalem die Meß-schnur Samarias, und das Senkblei des Hauses Achab, und wische Jerusalem aus, wie man die Schale auswischt, sie auswischt und umkehrt auf ihr Angesicht.

And I have stretched out over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab, and wiped Jerusalem as one wipeth the dish — he hath wiped, and hath turned [it] on its face.

14 Und Ich gebe hin den Überrest Meines Erbes, und gebe sie in die Hand ihrer Feinde, auf daß sie allen ihren Feinden zum Raub und zur Plünderung werden.

'And I have left the remnant of Mine inheritance, and given them into the hand of their enemies, and they have been for a prey and for a spoil to all their enemies,

15 Weil sie taten, was böse ist in Meinen Augen, und Mich reizten seit dem Tage, da ihre Väter auszogen aus Ägypten, und bis auf diesen Tag.

because that they have done the evil thing in Mine eyes, and are provoking Me to anger from the day that their fathers came out of Egypt, even unto this day.'

16 Und Menascheh vergoß auch sehr viel unschuldig Blut, bis daß er Jerusalem von Ende zu Ende damit füllte, außer seiner Sünde, die er Judah sündigen machte, zu tun, was böse ist in Jehovahs Augen.

And also, innocent blood hath Manasseh shed very much, till that he hath filled Jerusalem — mouth to mouth; apart from his sin that he hath caused Judah to sin, to do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah.

17 Und die übrige Geschichte Menaschehs, und alles, was er tat, und die Sünde, die er sündigte, sind sie nicht geschrieben im Buche der Tagesgeschichte der Könige Judahs?

And the rest of the matters of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah?

18 Und Menascheh entschlief zu seinen Vätern, und ward begraben im Garten seines Hauses, im Garten Ussas, und Amon, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Stelle.

And Manasseh lieth with his fathers, and is buried in the garden of his house, in the garden of Uzza, and reign doth Amon his son in his stead.

19 Amon war zweiundzwanzig Jahre alt, da er König ward, und regierte zwei Jahre in Jerusalem, und der Name seiner Mutter war Meschullemeth, eine Tochter des Charuz aus Jotbah.

A son of twenty and two years [is] Amon in his reigning, and two years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Meshullemeth daughter of Haruz of Jotbah,

20 Und er tat, was böse war in den Augen Jehovahs, wie Menascheh, sein Vater, getan hatte.

and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, as did Manasseh his father,

21 Und er wandelte in all dem Wege, den sein Vater gewandelt, und diente den Götzen, denen sein Vater gedient, und betete sie an;

and walketh in all the way that his father walked in, and serveth the idols that his father served, and boweth himself to them,

22 Und verließ Jehovah, den Gott seiner Väter, und wandelte nicht im Wege Jehovahs.

and forsaketh Jehovah, God of his fathers, and hath not walked in the way of Jehovah.

23 Und es verschworen sich die Knechte Amons wider ihn, und töteten den König in seinem Hause.

And the servants of Amon conspire against him, and put the king to death in his own house,

24 Und das Volk des Landes schlug alle, die sich wider den König Amon verschworen hatten, und das Volk das Landes machte Joschijahu, seinen Sohn, an seiner Stelle zum König.

and the people of the land smite all those conspiring against king Amon, and the people of the land cause Josiah his son to reign in his stead.

25 Und die übrige Geschichte Amons, was er tat, ist es nicht geschrieben im Buch der Tagesgeschichte der Könige Judahs?

And the rest of the matters of Amon that he did, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah?

26 Und man begrub ihn in seinem Begräbnis im Garten Ussas, und Joschijahu, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Stelle.

and [one] burieth him in his burying-place in the garden of Uzza, and reign doth Josiah his son in his stead.
