2 Korinther 4
1 Weil wir nun solches Amt haben, nach der Barmherzigkeit, die uns ist zuteil geworden, werden wir nicht zaghaft;
Wherefore, having this ministry, even as we received mercy, we faint not;
2 Sondern haben von uns abgewiesen, was die Scham verbirgt, indem wir nicht wandeln in Schalkheit, noch das Wort Gottes verfälschen, sondern empfehlen uns durch das Offenbaren der Wahrheit an jedes Menschen Gewissen, im Angesichte Gottes.
But have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully, —but, by the manifestation of the truth, commending ourselves unto every conscience of men, in the sight of God.
3 Ist aber unser Evangelium auch noch verdeckt, so ist es verdeckt in denen, die verlorengehen.
And, even if our glad-message is veiled, in them who are perishing, it is veiled,
4 Weil in diesen der Gott dieser Welt die Gedanken der Ungläubigen verblendet hat, so daß das Licht des Evangeliums von Christi Herrlichkeit, Welcher ist das Bild Gottes, nicht scheinen kann. (aiōn g165)
In whom, the god of this age, hath blinded the minds of the unbelieving, to the end they may not discern the radiance of the glad-message of the glory of the Christ—who is the image of God. (aiōn g165)
5 Denn wir predigen nicht uns selbst, sondern Jesus Christus, daß Er der Herr ist, wir aber eure Knechte sind um Jesus willen.
For, not ourselves, do we proclaim, but Christ Jesus, as Lord, and, ourselves, as your servants for Jesus’ sake.
6 Denn der Gott, Der aus der Finsternis Licht hervorleuchten hieß, ist es, Der es leuchten ließ in unsere Herzen, damit die Erkenntnis der Herrlichkeit Gottes im Angesicht Jesus Christi leuchtete.
Because, the God who said—Out of darkness, light shall shine! [is he] who hath shone in our hearts, in proportion to the radiance of the glorious knowledge of God, in the face of Christ.
7 Wir haben aber diesen Schatz in irdischen Gefäßen, auf daß die Überschwenglichkeit der Kraft erscheine als von Gott, nicht von uns, ausgehend.
Howbeit we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that, the surpassing greatness of the power, may be of God, and not from ourselves: —
8 Auf alle Weise bedrängt, aber nicht geängstet; zaghaft, aber nicht verzagend; verfolgt, aber nicht verlassen;
On every side, pressed hard, but not hemmed in, without a way, but not without a by-way,
9 Zu Boden geworfen, aber nicht umkommend:
Pursued, but not abandoned, thrown down, but not destroyed; —
10 So tragen wir allezeit Jesus Sterben an unserem Leibe umher, damit Jesus Leben an unserem Leibe geoffenbart werde.
At all times, the putting to death of Jesus, in our body, bearing about, in order that, the life also of Jesus, in our body, may be made manifest;
11 Denn wir, die wir leben, werden um Jesus willen in den Tod gegeben, auf daß auch das Leben Jesus an unserem sterblichen Fleische offenbar werde.
For, evermore, we, the living, unto death are being delivered, for Jesus’ sake, in order that, the life also of Jesus, may be made manifest in our mortal flesh:
12 Darum ist der Tod an uns wirksam, an euch aber das Leben.
So that, his death, in us, doth energise, but, his life, in you.
13 Weil wir aber denselben Geist des Glaubens haben, gemäß dem, was geschrieben steht: ich glaube, darum rede ich, glauben auch wir, und darum reden wir auch,
Howbeit, seeing that we have the same spirit of faith, according to that which is written—I believed, therefore I spake, we, also believe, therefore also we speak:
14 Indem wir wissen, daß Er, Der den Herrn Jesus auferweckt hat, auch uns auferwecken und uns lebendig darstellen wird samt euch.
Knowing that, he who raised up [the Lord] Jesus, will raise up, us also, together with Jesus, and will present [us] together with you.
15 Denn alles geschieht um euretwillen, auf daß die Gnade durch die vielen die Danksagung zur Verherrlichung Gottes um so überschwenglicher mache.
For, all things, are for your sakes, in order that, the favour abounding, may, through means of the greater number, cause, the thanksgiving, to superabound unto the glory of God.
16 Deshalb sind wir nicht zaghaft; sondern wenn auch unser äußerer Mensch aufgerieben wird, so wird doch der innere Mensch von Tag zu Tag erneuert.
Wherefore we faint not, but, even if, our outer man, is decaying, nevertheless, our inner [man], is renewing day by day.
17 Denn die augenblickliche, leichte Trübsal erwirkt für uns ein ewiges, überschwengliches Maß von Herrlichkeit. (aiōnios g166)
For, the momentary lightness of the tribulation, in a manner yet more and more excelling, is working out for us, an age-abiding weight of glory, — (aiōnios g166)
18 Weil wir nicht auf das Sichtbare, sondern auf das Unsichtbare sehen. Denn das Sichtbare ist zeitlich, das Unsichtbare aber ist ewig. (aiōnios g166)
So long as we are not looking out for the visible things, but for the invisible; for, the visible things, are temporary, whereas, the invisible, are age-abiding. (aiōnios g166)
