1 Samuel 6
1 Und die Lade Jehovahs war sieben Monate im Gefilde der Philister.
And the ark of the Lord was in the fields of the Philistines seven months.
2 Und die Philister riefen die Priester und die Wahrsager und sprachen: Was sollen wir mit der Lade Jehovahs machen? Lasset uns wissen, womit wir sie an ihren Ort senden sollen.
And the Philistines called for the priests and the diviners, saying, What shall we do with the ark of the Lord? let us know wherewith we shall send off it to its place.
3 Und sie sprachen: Wenn ihr die Lade des Gottes Israels entsendet, so entsendet sie nicht leer, sondern gebt ja ein Schuldopfer zurück. Dann werdet ihr geheilt und es wird euch zu wissen getan, warum Seine Hand nicht von euch abwich.
And they said, If ye send away the ark of the God of Israel, send it not away empty; but ye must to a certainty return him a trespass-offering: then will ye be healed, and it will be known to you why his hand is not removed from you.
4 Und sie sprachen: Welches ist das Schuldopfer, das wir Ihm zurückgeben sollen? Und sie sprachen: Nach der Zahl der Fürsten der Philister fünf goldene Pestbeulen und fünf goldene Mäuse, denn die Plage ist die eine für sie alle und für eure Fürsten.
And they said, What shall be the trespass-offering that we shall return to him? And they answered, According to the number of the lords of the Philistines, five golden hemorrhoids, and five golden mice; for one plague affected them all, and your lords.
5 Und machet Bilder eurer Pestbeulen und Bilder eurer Mäuse, die das Land verdarben, und gebt die Herrlichkeit dem Gott Israels. Vielleicht macht Er Seine Hand leichter über euch und über eure Götter und über euer Land.
Therefore make images of your hemorrhoids, and images of your mice that devastate the land; and give glory unto the God of Israel: perhaps he will lighten his hand from off you, and from off your gods, and from off your land.
6 Warum wollt ihr euer Herz verstocken, wie die Ägypter und Pharao ihr Herz verstockt; mußten sie nicht, da Er es ihnen antat, dieselben entlassen, so daß sie hingingen?
And why will ye harden your heart, just as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their heart? Did not they, when he had wrought wonderful deeds among them, dismiss them, and they departed?
7 Und nun nehmet und machet einen neuen Wagen und zwei säugende Kühe, auf die noch kein Joch gekommen, und spannt die Kühe an den Wagen und bringt ihre Kälber hinter ihnen weg, zurück nach Hause.
And now make a new wagon, and take two milch-cows, on which there hath come no yoke, and harness the cows to the wagon, and bring their calves home away from them:
8 Und nehmt die Lade Jehovahs und gebt sie hin auf den Wagen, und die goldenen Geräte, die ihr Ihm als Schuldopfer zurückgebt, tut in ein Kästchen ihr zur Seite und entsendet denselben, daß er gehe.
And take the ark of the Lord, and place it into the wagon; and the articles of gold, which ye return him as a trespass-offering, ye must put in a casket alongside of it; and then send it away, that it may go.
9 Und seht, wenn derselbe auf dem Wege nach seiner Grenze hinaufzieht nach Bethschemesch, so hat Er uns dieses große Übel getan, aber wo nicht, so wissen wir, daß nicht Seine Hand uns gerührt, sondern es ein Zufall bei uns gewesen ist.
And then see, if it go up by the way to its own boundary, to Beth-shemesh, then hath he done us this great evil; but if not, then shall we know that not his hand hath smitten us; it is a chance which hath happened to us.
10 Und die Männer taten also, und nahmen zwei säugende Kühe und spannten sie an den Wagen und ihre Kälber sperrten sie zu Hause ein.
And the men did so; and they took two milch-cows, and harnessed them to the wagon, and their calves they shut up at home:
11 Und sie setzten die Lade Jehovahs auf den Wagen, und das Kästchen und die goldenen Mäuse und die Bilder ihrer Darmknoten.
And they placed the ark of the Lord in the wagon, and the casket with the mice of gold and images of their hemorrhoids.
12 Und die Kühe gingen geraden Weges auf dem Weg nach Bethschemesch; auf der einen Heerstraße gingen sie, sie gingen und blökten und wichen weder rechts noch links ab. Und die Fürsten der Philister gingen hinter ihnen her bis an die Grenze von Bethschemesch.
And the cows went straight forward on the way on the road to Beth-shemesh: on one highway they did go along, lowing as they went, and turned not aside to the right or to the left; and the lords of the Philistines went after them as far as the border of Beth-shemesh.
13 Und die von Bethschemesch ernteten die Weizenernte ein im Talgrunde, und sie hoben ihre Augen auf und sie sahen die Lade, und wurden fröhlich, als sie sie sahen.
And they of Beth-shemesh were reaping their wheat harvest in the valley; and when they lifted up their eyes, and saw the ark, they rejoiced to see it.
14 Und der Wagen kam auf das Feld des Bethschemiters Joschua und blieb dort stehen; und daselbst war ein großer Stein; und sie spalteten das Holz des Wagens und opferten die Kühe auf als Brandopfer dem Jehovah.
And the wagon came to the field of Joshua, the Beth-shemite, and stood still there; and there was a great stone; and they split the wood of the wagon, and the cows they offered as a burnt-offering unto the Lord.
15 Und die Leviten ließen die Lade Jehovahs und das Kästchen bei ihr, in welchem die goldenen Geräte waren, herab, und setzten sie auf den großen Stein. Und die Männer von Bethschemesch opferten Brandopfer auf, und opferten dem Jehovah an selbigem Tage Schlachtopfer.
And the Levites took down the ark of the Lord, and the casket that was with it, wherein were the articles of gold, and put them on the great stone; and the men of Beth-shemesh offered bunt-offerings and sacrificed sacrifices on the same day unto the Lord.
16 Und die fünf Fürsten der Philister sahen es und kehrten an demselben Tag nach Ekron zurück.
And when the five lords of the Philistines had seen it, they returned to 'Ekron on the same day.
17 Und dies sind die Darmknoten von Gold, welche die Philister dem Jehovah als Schuldopfer zurückbrachten: einen für Aschdod, einen für Gassah, einen für Aschkelon, einen für Gath, einen für Ekron.
And these are the golden hemorrhoids which the Philistines returned as a trespass-offering unto the Lord: For Ashdod one, for Gazzah one, for Ashkelon one, for Gath one, for 'Ekron one.
18 Und die goldenen Mäuse waren nach der Zahl aller Städte der Philister unter den fünf Fürsten von der festen Stadt an und bis zum Dorf auf offenem Land, und bis zum großen Stein Abel, auf den sie die Lade Jehovahs niedergelassen in dem Felde des Bethschemiters Joschua bis auf diesen Tag.
And the golden mice were according to the number of all the cities of the Philistines under the five lords, from the fortified city, down to the open village, even unto the great stone whereon they had set down the ark of the Lord, and which is unto this day in the field of Joshua, the Beth-shemite.
19 Und Er schlug unter den Männern von Bethschemesch solche, die in die Lade Jehovahs gesehen hatten, und Er schlug im Volke fünfzigtausend und siebzig Mann. Und das Volk trauerte, daß Jehovah in dem Volke einen großen Schlag geschlagen.
And he smote among the men of Beth-shemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the Lord, namely, he smote among the people seventy men and fifty thousand men: and the people mourned because the Lord had caused among the people a great slaughter.
20 Und die Männer von Bethschemesch sprachen: Wer kann stehen vor Jehovah, diesem heiligen Gott, und zu wem soll sie von uns hinaufziehen?
And the men of Beth-shemesh said, Who is able to stand before the Lord, this holy God? and to whom shall it go up away from us?
21 Und sie sandten Boten zu den Einwohnern von Kirjath-Jearim und sprachen: Die Philister haben die Lade Jehovahs zurückgebracht, kommt herab und holt sie zu euch hinauf.
And they sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kiryath-ye'arim, saying, The Philistines have brought back the ark of the Lord: come ye down, and fetch it up to you.
