1 Samuel 20
1 Und David entwich aus Nevajoth in Ramah und kam und sprach vor Jonathan: Was habe ich getan? Was ist meine Missetat und was habe ich gesündigt vor deinem Vater, daß er mir nach der Seele trachtet?
And Dauid fled from Naioth in Ramah, and came and sayd before Ionathan, What haue I done? what is mine iniquitie? and what sinne haue I committed before thy father, that he seeketh my life?
2 Und er sprach zu ihm: Das sei ferne! Du sollst nicht sterben. Siehe, mein Vater tut weder Großes noch Kleines, ohne daß er es vor meinem Ohre offenbart und warum sollte mein Vater diese Sache vor mir verheimlichen? Es ist nicht also.
And he sayde vnto him, God forbid, thou shalt not die: beholde, my father will do nothing great nor small, but he will shewe it me: and why should my father hide this thing from me? he will not doe it.
3 David aber schwur abermals und sprach: Gar wohl weiß dein Vater, daß ich Gnade in deinen Augen gefunden, und er sprach: Jonathan soll es nicht wissen, auf daß es ihn nicht schmerze. Dennoch, beim Leben Jehovahs und beim Leben deiner Seele, nur ein Schritt ist zwischen mir und dem Tode.
And Dauid sware againe and sayd, Thy father knoweth that I haue found grace in thine eyes: therefore he thinketh, Ionathan shall not knowe it, lest he be sorie: but in deede, as the Lord liueth, and as thy soule liueth, there is but a step betweene me and death.
4 Und Jonathan sprach zu David: Was deine Seele sagt, das will ich für dich tun.
Then said Ionathan vnto Dauid, Whatsoeuer thy soule requireth, that I wil do vnto thee.
5 Und David sagte zu Jonathan: Siehe, morgen ist Neumond, und ich sollte mit dem König beim Essen sitzen, aber entlaß mich, daß ich mich auf dem Felde verberge bis zum dritten Abende.
And Dauid said vnto Ionathan, Behold, to morowe is the first day of the moneth, and I shoulde sit with the King at meate: but let me goe, that I may hide my selfe in the fieldes vnto the third day at euen.
6 Wenn mich dein Vater vermißt, so sprich: David hat von mir erbeten, er möchte nach Bethlechem, seiner Stadt, laufen; denn seine ganze Familie hat dort ein jährliches Opfer.
If thy father make mention of me, then say, Dauid asked leaue of me, that he might goe to Beth-lehem to his owne citie: for there is a yeerely sacrifice for all that familie.
7 Wenn er so spricht: Es ist gut, so ist es Frieden für deinen Knecht; wenn er aber entbrennt, so wisse, daß Böses bei ihm beschlossen ist.
And if he say thus, It is well, thy seruant shall haue peace: but if he be angrie, be sure that wickednesse is concluded of him.
8 So tue denn Barmherzigkeit für deinen Knecht, du hast ja deinen Knecht in einen Bund Jehovahs mit dir eingehen lassen. Und wenn an mir eine Missetat ist, so töte du mich; denn wozu willst du mich zu deinem Vater bringen?
So shalt thou shew mercy vnto thy seruant: for thou hast ioyned thy seruant into a couenant of the Lord with thee, and if there be in me iniquitie, slay thou me: for why shouldest thou bring me to thy father?
9 Und Jonathan sprach: Das sei ferne von dir, daß wenn ich weiß, daß von meinem Vater beschlossen ist, daß Böses über dich komme, ich dir es nicht ansage.
And Ionathan answered, God keepe that from thee: for if I knewe that wickednesse were concluded of my father to come vpon thee, would not I tell it thee?
10 Und David sagte zu Jonathan: Wer wird mir das ansagen, oder was dein Vater Hartes über mich geantwortet hat?
Then said Dauid to Ionathan, Who shall tell me? how shall I knowe, if thy father answere thee cruelly?
11 Und Jonathan sprach zu David: Komm und laß uns auf das Feld gehen. Und beide gingen hinaus auf das Feld.
And Ionathan sayde to Dauid, Come and let vs goe out into the fielde: and they twaine went out into the fielde.
12 Und Jonathan sprach zu David: Jehovah, Gott Israels, wenn ich meinen Vater morgen oder übermorgen um diese Zeit erforsche, und siehe, es ist gut mit David, und ich sende nicht zu dir und offenbare es deinem Ohr:
Then Ionathan sayde to Dauid, O Lord God of Israel, when I haue groped my fathers minde to morow at this time, or within this three dayes, and if it be well with Dauid, and I then send not vnto thee, and shewe it thee,
13 So tue Jehovah an Jonathan und so fahre er fort. Wenn das Böse wider dich meinem Vater gut dünkt, so will ich es deinem Ohr offenbaren und dich entlassen, daß du im Frieden hingehst. Und Jehovah sei mit dir wie Er mit meinem Vater war.
The Lord doe so and much more vnto Ionathan: but if my father haue minde to doe thee euill, I will shew thee also, and sende thee away, that thou mayest goe in peace: and the Lord be with thee as he hath bene with my father.
14 Aber nicht, während ich noch am Leben bin, wenn du nicht die Barmherzigkeit Jehovahs an mir tust, daß ich nicht sterbe.
Likewise I require not whiles I liue: for I dout not but thou wilt shew me the mercy of the Lord, that I die not.
15 Und daß du nicht ausrottest deine Barmherzigkeit, von meinem Hause ewiglich; auch nicht, wenn Jehovah die Feinde Davids, jeden Mann vom Angesicht des Bodens ausgerottet hat.
But I require that thou cut not off thy mercie from mine house for euer: no, not when the Lord hath destroyed the enemies of Dauid, euery one from the earth.
16 Und Jonathan schloß mit dem Hause Davids einen Bund; und Jehovah fordere es aus der Hand der Feinde Davids.
So Ionathan made a bond with the house of Dauid, saying, Let the Lord require it at the hands of Dauids enemies.
17 Und Jonathan fuhr fort, David zu schwören bei seiner Liebe zu ihm; denn mit der Liebe seiner Seele liebte er ihn.
And againe Ionathan sware vnto Dauid, because he loued him (for he loued him as his owne soule)
18 Und Jonathan sprach zu ihm: Morgen ist Neumond, und du wirst vermißt werden, denn dein Sitz wird vermißt werden.
Then said Ionathan to him, To morowe is the first day of the moneth: and thou shalt be looked for, for thy place shalbe emptie.
19 Und am dritten Tage komm bald herab und komm an den Ort, da du dich verbargst am Werktage, und setze dich neben den Stein Ezel.
Therefore thou shalt hide thy selfe three dayes, then thou shalt goe downe quickely and come to the place where thou diddest hide thy selfe, when this matter was in hand, and shalt remayne by the stone Ezel.
20 Und ich will drei Pfeile an seine Seite hinschießen, als entsendete ich sie nach einem Ziel.
And I will shoote three arrowes on the side thereof, as though I shot at a marke.
21 Und siehe, ich werde den Jungen senden: Gehe, finde die Pfeile. Wenn ich nun zum Jungen sage: Siehe, die Pfeile liegen herwärts von dir, hole sie und komm! So ist es Friede für dich und es ist nichts, beim Leben Jehovahs.
And after I wil sende a boy, saying, Goe, seeke the arrowes. If I say vnto the boy, See, the arrowes are on this side thee, bring them, and come thou: for it is well with thee and no hurt, as the Lord liueth.
22 Wenn ich aber so zu dem Jüngling sage: Siehe, die Pfeile sind hinwärts von dir, dann gehe hin, denn Jehovah entsendet dich.
But if I say thus vnto the boy, Behold, the arrowes are beyonde thee, goe thy way: for the Lord hath sent thee away.
23 Das Wort aber, das wir geredet, ich und du, siehe, Jehovah ist zwischen mir und dir in Ewigkeit.
As touching the thing which thou and I haue spoken of, beholde, the Lord be betweene thee and me for euer.
24 Und David verbarg sich auf dem Felde. Und es ward Neumond, und der König setzte sich, das Brot zu essen.
So Dauid hid him selfe in the field: and when the first day of the moneth came, the King sate to eate meate.
25 Und der König setzte sich auf seinen Sitz, wie einmal und das andere Mal auf den Sitz an der Wand, und Jonathan stand auf und Abner setzte sich Saul zur Seite, und Davids Platz ward vermißt.
And the King sate, as at other times vpon his seate, euen vpon his seate by the wall: and Ionathan arose, and Abner sate by Sauls side, but Dauids place was emptie.
26 Und am selbigen Tage redete Saul nichts, denn er sagte: Er ist durch Zufall nicht rein, ja nicht rein wird er sein.
And Saul sayde nothing that day: for hee thought, Some thing hath befallen him, though he were cleane, or els becaus he was not purified.
27 Und es geschah am morgenden Tag, am zweiten des Neumondes, war Davids Platz leer. Und Saul sprach zu seinem Sohne Jonathan: Warum ist der Sohn Ischais gestern sowohl als auch heute nicht zum Brot gekommen?
But on the morowe which was the second day of the moneth, Dauids place was emptie againe: and Saul sayde vnto Ionathan his sonne, Wherefore commeth not the sonne of Ishai to meate, neither yesterday nor to day?
28 Und Jonathan antwortete Saul: David hat sich von mir erbeten, nach Bethlechem zu gehen,
And Ionathan answered vnto Saul, Dauid required of me, that he might goe to Beth-lehem.
29 Und sprach: Entlaß mich doch, denn unsere Familie hat ein Opfer in der Stadt und mein Bruder hat es mir geboten, und nun, wenn ich in deinen Augen Gnade gefunden, laß mich doch hingehen, daß ich meine Brüder sehe. Darum ist er nicht zum Tische des Königs gekommen.
For he sayde, Let me goe, I pray thee: for our familie offreth a sacrifice in the citie, and my brother hath sent for me: therfore now if I haue found fauour in thine eyes, let me goe, I pray thee, and see my brethren: this is the cause that he commeth not vnto the Kings table.
30 Und es entbrannte der Zorn des Saul gegen Jonathan, und er sprach zu ihm: Du Sohn einer Verkehrten und Empörerin, weiß ich nicht, daß du Ischais Sohn erwählt hast, dir zur Scham und zur Scham der Blöße deiner Mutter!
Then was Saul angrie with Ionathan, and sayde vnto him, Thou sonne of the wicked rebellious woman, doe not I know, that thou hast chosen the sonne of Ishai to thy confusion, and to the confusion and shame of thy mother?
31 Denn alle die Tage, die der Sohn Ischais auf dem Boden lebt, wirst du und dein Königreich nicht befestigt werden, und nun sende und hole ihn mir her; denn er ist ein Sohn des Todes.
For as long as the sonne of Ishai liueth vpon the earth, thou shalt not be stablished, nor thy kingdome: wherefore now send and fet him vnto me, for he shall surely die.
32 Jonathan aber antwortete seinem Vater Saul und sprach zu ihm: Warum soll er getötet werden? Was hat er getan?
And Ionathan answered vnto Saul his father, and said vnto him, Wherefore shall he die? what hath he done?
33 Da schleuderte Saul den Spieß gegen ihn, daß er ihn durchstieße. Und Jonathan wußte, daß es bei seinem Vater beschlossen war, David zu töten.
And Saul cast a speare at him to hit him, whereby Ionathan knew, that it was determined of his father to slay Dauid.
34 Und Jonathan stand vom Tische auf in Zornesglut und aß kein Brot am zweiten Tage des Neumondes, denn es schmerzte ihn um David, daß ihn sein Vater beschimpft hatte.
So Ionathan arose from the table in a great anger, and did eate no meate the seconde day of the moneth: for he was sorie for Dauid, and because his father had reuiled him.
35 Und es geschah am Morgen, daß Jonathan auf das Feld hinausging zu der mit David bestimmten Zeit, und ein kleiner Junge war bei ihm.
On the next morning therefore Ionathan than went out into the fielde, at the time appoynted with Dauid, and a litle boy with him.
36 Und er sprach zu seinem Jungen: Laufe hin und finde mir doch die Pfeile, die ich schieße. Und der Junge lief hin, und er schoß den Pfeil über ihn hinaus.
And he saide vnto his boy, Runne now, seeke the arrowes which I shoote, and as the boy ran, he shot an arrowe beyond him.
37 Und der Junge kam zu dem Orte, dahin Jonathan den Pfeil geschossen hatte, und Jonathan rief dem Jungen nach und sprach: Ist der Pfeil nicht hinwärts von dir?
And when the boy was come to the place where the arrowe was that Ionathan had shot, Ionathan cryed after the boy, and sayde, Is not the arrowe beyond thee?
38 Und Jonathan rief dem Jungen nach: Eile, spute dich, bleibe nicht stehen! Und der Junge Jonathans las den Pfeil auf, und kam zu seinem Herrn.
And Ionathan cryed after the boy, Make speede, haste and stand not still: and Ionathans boy gathered vp the arrowes, and came to his master,
39 Der Junge aber wußte nichts. Nur Jonathan und David wußten um die Sache.
But the boy knewe nothing: onely Ionathan and Dauid knew the matter.
40 Und Jonathan gab seine Waffen dem Jungen, der bei ihm war und sprach zu ihm: Gehe und bringe sie in die Stadt.
Then Ionathan gaue his bowe and arrowes vnto the boy that was with him, and sayd vnto him, Goe, carrie them into the citie.
41 Der Junge ging, und David stand auf von der Mittagseite und fiel auf sein Antlitz zur Erde und beugte sich dreimal und sie küß-ten sich und weinten miteinander, David am lautesten.
Assoone as the boy was gone, Dauid arose out of a place that was towarde the South, and fel on his face to the ground, and bowed him selfe three times: and they kissed one another, and wept both twaine, till Dauid exceeded.
42 Und Jonathan sprach zu David: Gehe hin in Frieden! Wie wir beide geschworen im Namen Jehovahs und gesagt: Jehovah sei zwischen mir und dir, und zwischen meinem Samen und deinem Samen in Ewigkeit!
Therefore Ionathan said to Dauid, Goe in peace: that which we haue sworne both of vs in the Name of the Lord, saying, The Lord be betweene me and thee, and betweene my seede and betweene thy seede, let it stand for euer. And he arose and departed, and Ionathan went into the citie.
