1 Petrus 2

1 So legt nun ab alle Bosheit, allen Trug, alle Heuchelei und Mißgunst, Lästerung;

MAKE to cease therefore from you all malice and all guile, and dissimulation, and envy, and slander;

2 Als neugeborene Kindlein verlangt nach vernünftiger, lauterer Milch, auf daß ihr durch dieselbe zur Seligkeit gedeiht.

and be as (new)-born babes, and be desirous of the word as of milk pure and spiritual, that by it you may increase unto life.

3 So ihr anders schon geschmeckt habt, wie gütig der Herr ist,

If you have tasted and seen how good is the Lord,

4 Zu Dem ihr hinzutretet, als zu einem lebendigen Steine, der von den Menschen verworfen, aber bei Gott auserwählt und in Ehren ist.

unto whom you have come, who is the living stone whom men have rejected, yet (who is) chosen and honourable with Aloha.

5 Und auch ihr seid wie lebendige Steine, aufgebaut zu einem geistigen Haus, einem heiligen Priestertum, um geistige Opfer darzubringen, die durch Jesus Christus Gott wohlgefällig sind.

And you also as living stones are builded, and become a spiritual temple, and holy priests to offer sacrifices, which are acceptable before Aloha by Jeshu Meshiha.

6 Darum steht in der Schrift: Siehe, Ich lege auf Zion einen auserwählten, köstlichen Eckstein, und wer an ihn glaubt, wird nicht zuschanden werden.

For it is said in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a stone choice and honourable in the head of the corner: whosoever believeth in him shall not be ashamed.

7 Euch nun, die ihr glaubt, ist er köstlich, denen aber, die nicht glauben, ist er der Stein, den die Bauleute verworfen haben und der zum Eckstein geworden ist.

To you therefore is given this honour, to them who believe: but to them who are disobedient he is a rock of offence,

8 Ein Stein des Anstoßes und ein Fels zum Ärgernis für die, welche sich am Wort stoßen und nicht an dasselbe glauben, wozu sie auch bestimmt sind.

or a stone of stumbling, and they are offended at him in not obeying the word, because to this they are set.

9 Ihr aber seid ein auserwählt Geschlecht, ein königlich Priestertum, ein heilig Volk, das Volk des Eigentums, daß ihr verkündigen sollt die Tugenden Dessen, Der euch aus der Finsternis in Sein wunderbares Licht berufen hat,

But you are a chosen race, who minister as priests to the kingdom, a holy people, a congregation redeemed to announce the praises of him who hath called you from darkness to his transcendant light:

10 Die ihr vordem kein Volk ward, nun aber ein Volk Gottes, vordem nicht begnadigt, nun aber begnadigt seid.

those who before were not reputed a people, but now the people of Aloha; upon whom also mercies were not; but now, mercies are poured upon you.

11 Geliebte, ich ermahne euch als Fremdlinge und Pilger, euch fleischlicher Lüste zu enthalten, die wider die Seele streiten.

MY beloved, I beseech you as strangers and as sojourners, be separate from all the lusts of the body which make wars against the soul.

12 Führt einen guten Lebenswandel unter den Heiden, auf daß, wo sie euch Übles nachreden als Übeltätern, sie eure guten Werke sehen und Gott preisen am Tage der Heimsuchung.

And let your conversation be good before all men; and they who speak against you malicious words shall see your good deeds, and shall glorify Aloha in the day of the probation.

13 So seid nun untertan aller menschlichen Ordnung um des Herrn willen, sowohl dem König, der die oberste Gewalt hat,

And be subject to all men for the sake of Aloha: to kings, on account of their authority;

14 Als auch den Statthaltern, die von ihm ausgesandt sind zur Bestrafung der Übeltäter und zum Lobe der Rechtschaffenen.

and to judges, because from him they are sent for the punishment of transgressors, and for the commendation of good works.

15 Denn so ist es der Wille Gottes, daß ihr durch Gutestun die Unwissenheit der unverständigen Menschen zum Schweigen bringt.

For so is the will of Aloha, that by your comely works you may shut the mouth of fools who know not Aloha.

16 Als Freie und nicht als ob ihr die Freiheit zum Deckmantel der Bosheit gebraucht, sondern als die Knechte Gottes.

As the sons of liberty, yet not as men who make their liberty a veil for their wickedness, but as the servants of Aloha.

17 Haltet jedermann in Ehren, liebet die Brüderschaft, fürchtet Gott, ehrt den König.

Honour all; your brethren love; and Aloha revere; and kings honour.

18 Ihr Knechte, seid untertan in aller Furcht den Herren, nicht allein den gütigen und gelinden, sondern auch den wunderlichen.

And those servants who are among you, be subject to your masters with reverence; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the hard and the severe.

19 Denn das ist Gnade, wenn einer aus Gewissenhaftigkeit gegen Gott Widerwärtigkeiten erträgt und ungerecht leidet.

For these are pleasing before Aloha, who, for the sake of a good conscience, endure the afflictions that come upon them unjustly.

20 Denn was ist das für ein Ruhm, so ihr Unrecht tut und dafür Streiche zu erdulden habt; aber wenn ihr Recht tut und Leiden erduldet, das ist Gnade bei Gott.

For they who on account of their offences suffer tribulations, what praise have they? But when you do well and they afflict you, and you endure, then doth your praise become great with Aloha.

21 Denn dazu seid ihr berufen; hat ja auch Christus für euch gelitten und euch ein Vorbild gelassen, daß ihr Seinen Fußstapfen nachfolgen sollt;

For unto this have you been called; because the Meshiha also hath died for us, and left us this example, that in his steps we may walk.

22 Er, Der keine Sünde getan, in Dessen Mund auch kein Trug erfunden worden ist;

Who did no sin, nor was guile found in his mouth;

23 Der nicht wieder schalt, da Er gescholten ward, nicht drohte, da Er litt; es Dem, Der da gerecht richtet, anheim stellte;

who was reviled and reviled not, and suffered and threatened not, but delivered his cause to the Judge of righteousness;

24 Der unsere Sünden Selbst an Seinem Leibe an das Holz hinauf nahm, auf daß wir, den Sünden abgestorben, der Gerechtigkeit leben, durch Dessen Wunden ihr geheilt worden seid.

and took all our sins and upbore them in his body on the cross; that when dead to sin, in the righteousness of him we might live; for by his stripes you are healed,

25 Denn ihr ward wie die Schafe, die in der Irre gehen, seid nun aber zum Hirten und Bischof eurer Seelen zurückgekehrt.

who had wandered as sheep, and are returned now unto the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.
