1 Und es geschah, als Salomoh den Bau des Hauses Jehovahs und des Hauses des Königs und alles, wonach Salomoh verlangte, was er Lust hatte zu machen, vollendet hatte;

It happened, when Solomon had finished the building of the house of the LORD, and the king's house, and all Solomon's desire which he was pleased to do,

2 Da erschien Jehovah dem Salomoh zum zweitenmal, wie Er ihm in Gibeon erschienen war.

that the LORD appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared to him at Gibeon.

3 Und Jehovah sprach zu ihm: Ich habe dein Gebet und dein Flehen, das du vor Mir gefleht hast, gehört, habe dieses Haus, das du gebaut, geheiligt, um Meinen Namen daselbst einzusetzen in Ewigkeit, und Meine Augen und Mein Herz werden da sein alle Tage.

And the LORD said to him, "I have heard your prayer and your petition that you have made before me. I have done for you according to all your prayer. I have consecrated this house which you have built, to place my name there forever, and my eyes and my heart will be there perpetually.

4 Und wenn du vor Mir wandeln wirst, wie David, dein Vater, vor Mir gewandelt, in Einfalt des Herzens und in Geradheit, daß du tust nach allem, was Ich geboten habe, und Meine Satzungen und Rechte hältst;

As for you, if you will walk before me, as David your father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded you, and will keep my statutes and my ordinances;

5 So will Ich den Thron deines Königtums über Israel bestätigen in Ewigkeit, wie Ich zu David, deinem Vater, geredet und gesprochen habe: Nicht soll dir ausgerottet werden ein Mann von dem Throne Israels.

then I will establish the throne of your kingdom over Israel forever, according as I promised to David your father, saying, 'There shall not fail you a man on the throne of Israel.'

6 Wenn ihr aber, ihr und eure Söhne euch von Mir hinter sich zurückwendet und Meine Gebote, Meine Satzungen, die Ich vor euch gegeben, nicht haltet, und hingeht und anderen Göttern dient und sie anbetet,

But if you turn away from following me, you or your children, and not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;

7 So werde Ich Israel ausrotten von dem Boden, den Ich ihnen gab, und das Haus, das Ich für Meinen Namen heiligte, wegtun vor Meinem Angesicht, und Israel soll zum Sprichwort und zur Stichelrede unter allen Völkern werden.

then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have made holy for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all peoples.

8 Und über diesem Haus, sei es auch das höchste, wird jeder, der vorübergeht, sich entsetzen und zischen und sagen: Warum hat doch Jehovah mit diesem Land und mit diesem Haus solches getan?

And this house, which is exalted, will become a heap of ruins. Everyone who passes by it will be astonished, and will whistle, and they will say, 'Why has the LORD done this to this land, and to this house?'

9 Und sie werden sprechen: Darum, daß sie Jehovah, ihren Gott, verlassen, Der ihre Väter aus dem Lande Ägypten ausgeführt, und daß sie andere Götter erfaßt und sie angebetet und ihnen gedient haben; darum hat Jehovah all dies Böse über sie hereingebracht.

And they shall answer, 'Because they forsook the LORD their God, who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold of other gods, and worshiped them, and served them. Therefore the LORD has brought all this disaster on them.'"

10 Und es geschah am Ende von den zwanzig Jahren, die Salomoh an den zwei Häusern, dem Hause Jehovahs und dem Hause des Königs, gebaut;

It happened at the end of twenty years, in which Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the LORD and the king's house

11 Dazu Chiram, der König von Zor, dem Salomoh Zedernbäume und Tannenbäume und Gold, so viel er Lust hatte, brachte, da gab der König Salomoh dem Chiram zwanzig Städte im Lande Galiläa.

(now Hiram the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar trees and fir trees, and with gold, according to all his desire), that then king Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.

12 Und Chiram zog aus von Zor, die Städte zu besehen, die Salomoh ihm gegeben hatte, und sie waren nicht recht in seinen Augen.

Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him; and they did not please him.

13 Und er sprach: Was sind die Städte da, die du mir gegeben hast, mein Bruder? Und nannte sie Land Cabul bis auf diesen Tag.

He said, "What cities are these which you have given me, my brother?" He called them the land of Cabul to this day.

14 Und Chiram hatte dem König hundertzwanzig Talente Gold gesandt.

Hiram sent to the king one hundred twenty talents of gold.

15 Und dies ist die Sache mit der Fron, die König Salomoh aufnahm, auf daß er bauete das Haus Jehovahs und sein Haus, und das Millo und die Stadtmauer von Jerusalem und Chazor und Megiddo und Geser.

This is the reason of the levy which king Solomon raised, to build the house of the LORD, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer.

16 Pharao, der König Ägyptens, war heraufgezogen und hatte Geser gewonnen und mit Feuer verbrannt, und den Kanaaniter, der in der Stadt wohnte erwürgt, und sie seiner Tochter, dem Weibe Salomohs, als Aussteuer gegeben.

Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up, and taken Gezer, and burnt it with fire, and slain the Canaanites who lived in the city, and given it for a portion to his daughter, Solomon's wife.

17 Und Salomoh baute Geser und das untere Beth-Choron,

Solomon built Gezer, and Lower Beth Horon,

18 Und Baalath und Thamar in der Wüste im Lande,

and Baalath, and Tamar in the wilderness, in the land,

19 Und alle Vorratsstädte, die Salomoh hatte, und die Städte der Streitwagen und die Städte der Reiter und die Lustgebäude Salomohs, die er nach seinem Verlangen erbaute in Jerusalem und auf dem Libanon und in allem Lande seiner Herrschaft.

and all the storage cities that Solomon had, and the cities for his chariots, and the cities for his horsemen, and that which Solomon desired to build for his pleasure in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.

20 Alles Volk, das überblieb von den Amoritern, den Chethitern, den Perisitern, den Chivitern und den Jebusitern, die nicht von den Söhnen Israels waren,

As for all the people who were left of the Amorites, the Hethites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of the children of Israel;

21 Ihre Söhne, die nach ihnen im Lande übriggeblieben, und welche die Söhne Israels nicht zu verbannen mochten, diese hob Salomoh zu Fronknechten aus bis auf diesen Tag.

their descendants who were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel were not able utterly to destroy, of them Solomon conscripted for slave labor to this day.

22 Aber von den Söhnen Israels gab Salomoh keinen zum Knecht; denn sie waren seine Männer des Streites und seine Knechte und seine Obersten und seine Wagenkämpfer und die Obersten über seine Streitwagen und seine Reiter.

But of the children of Israel Solomon made no bondservants; but they were the men of war, and his servants, and his commanders, and his captains, and rulers of his chariots and of his horsemen.

23 Dies sind die Obersten der Beamten über Salomohs Werk: fünfhundertfünfzig; sie herrschten über das Volk, das an dem Werke arbeitete.

These were the chief officers who were over Solomon's work, five hundred fifty, who bore rule over the people who labored in the work.

24 Die Tochter Pharaos aber war aus der Stadt Davids nach ihrem Hause, das er ihr gebaut hatte, heraufgezogen; dann baute er das Millo.

But Pharaoh's daughter came up out of the City of David to her house which Solomon had built for her: then he built Millo.

25 Und Salomoh ließ aufgehen dreimal im Jahr Brandopfer und Dankopfer auf dem Altar, den er Jehovah gebaut hatte, und räucherte dabei vor Jehovah; und er vollendete das Haus.

Solomon offered burnt offerings and peace offerings on the altar which he built to the LORD three times a year, burning incense with them, on the altar that was before the LORD. So he finished the house.

26 Und der König Salomoh machte sich Schiffe zu Ezjon-Geber, welches ist bei Eloth am Ufer des Schilfmeeres im Lande Edom.

King Solomon also had a fleet of ships at Ezion Geber, which is near Eilat on the shore of the Red Sea, in the land of Edom.

27 Und Chiram sandte im Schiffe seine Knechte, Schiffsleute, die das Meer kannten, mit den Knechten Salomohs.

Hiram sent in the navy his servants, sailors who had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon.

28 Und sie kamen nach Ophir, und holten von da Gold, vierhundertzwanzig Talente, und brachten sie dem Könige Salomoh.

They came to Ophir, and fetched from there gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to king Solomon.
