1 Und im achtzehnten Jahre des Königs Jerobeam, des Sohnes Nebats, ward Abijam König über Judah.

And in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam son of Nebat, reigned hath Abijam over Judah;

2 Drei Jahre war er König in Jerusalem; und der Name seiner Mutter war Maachah, Tochter Abischaloms.

three years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Maachah daughter of Abishalom;

3 Und er wandelte in allen Sünden seines Vaters, die er vor ihm getan, und sein Herz war nicht ganz bei Jehovah, seinem Gott, wie das Herz Davids, seines Vaters,

and he walketh in all the sins of his father, that he did before him, and his heart hath not been perfect with Jehovah his God, as the heart of David his father;

4 Denn um Davids willen gab Jehovah, sein Gott, ihm eine Leuchte in Jerusalem, so daß er seinen Sohn nach ihm bestätigte und Jerusalem stehen ließ.

but for David's sake hath Jehovah his God given to him a lamp in Jerusalem, to raise up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem,

5 Weil David tat, was recht war in den Augen Jehovahs, und nicht abwich von allem, was Er ihm gebot, alle Tage seines Lebens, außer in betreff des Chethiters Urijah.

in that David did that which [is] right in the eyes of Jehovah, and turned not aside from all that He commanded him all days of his life — only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite;

6 Und es war Streit zwischen Rechabeam und Jerobeam alle Tage seines Lebens.

and war hath been between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.

7 Und das übrige der Geschichten Abijams und alles, was er tat, sind sie nicht geschrieben in den Tagesgeschichten der Könige Judahs? Und Streit war zwischen Abijam und Jerobeam.

And the rest of the matters of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah? And war hath been between Abijam and Jeroboam;

8 Und es entschlief Abijam zu seinen Vätern, und sie begruben ihn in der Stadt Davids. Und Asa, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Stelle.

and Abijam lieth with his fathers, and they bury him in the city of David, and reign doth Asa his son in his stead.

9 Und im zwanzigsten Jahre Jerobeams, König von Israel, ward Asa König über Judah.

And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned hath Asa over Judah,

10 Und einundvierzig Jahre regierte er in Jerusalem, und der Name seiner Mutter war Maachah, eine Tochter Abischaloms.

and forty and one years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Maachah daughter of Abishalom.

11 Und Asa tat, was recht war in den Augen Jehovahs, wie David, sein Vater,

And Asa doth that which [is] right in the eyes of Jehovah, like David his father,

12 Und er tat fort die Buhlknaben aus dem Lande, und nahm weg alle die Götzen, die seine Väter gemacht hatten.

and removeth the whoremongers out of the land, and turneth aside all the idols that his fathers made;

13 Und auch der Maachah, seiner Mutter, nahm er weg ihre Gebieterschaft, weil sie ein Schandbild für die Aschere gemacht, auch ließ Asa ihr Schandbild umhauen und verbrannte es im Bachtal Kidron.

and also Maachah his mother — he turneth her aside from being mistress, in that she made a horrible thing for a shrine, and Asa cutteth down her horrible thing, and burneth [it] by the brook Kidron;

14 Aber die Opferhöhen taten sie nicht weg; doch war Asas Herz ganz bei Jehovah, alle seine Tage.

and the high places have not turned aside; only, the heart of Asa hath been perfect with Jehovah all his days,

15 Und er brachte das von seinem Vater Geheiligte und das von ihm Geheiligte in das Haus Jehovahs, Silber und Gold und Geräte.

and he bringeth in the sanctified things of his father, and his own sanctified things, to the house of Jehovah, silver, and gold, and vessels.

16 Und es war Streit zwischen Asa und Baescha, König von Israel, all ihre Tage.

And war hath been between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days,

17 Und Baescha, König von Israel, zog herauf wider Judah und baute Ramah, daß er niemanden gestatte auszugehen und einzugehen zu Asa, dem König von Judah.

and Baasha king of Israel goeth up against Judah, and buildeth Ramah, not to permit any one going out and coming in to Asa king of Judah.

18 Und Asa nahm alles Silber und Gold, das übrig war in den Schätzen des Hauses Jehovahs, und die Schätze des Hauses des Königs, und gab sie in die Hand seiner Knechte; und König Asa sandte sie an Ben-Hadad, den Sohn Tabrimmons, des Sohnes Chesjons, König von Aram, der in Damaskus wohnte, und ließ ihm sagen:

And Asa taketh all the silver and the gold that are left in the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the house of the king, and giveth them into the hand of his servants, and king Asa sendeth them unto Ben-Hadad, son of Tabrimmon, son of Hezion king of Aram, who is dwelling in Damascus, saying,

19 Es ist ein Bund zwischen mir und dir, zwischen meinem Vater und deinem Vater; siehe, ich sende dir ein Geschenk von Silber und Gold. Gehe, mache zunichte deinen Bund mit Baescha, dem Könige Israels, daß er von mir hinaufziehe.

'A covenant [is] between me and thee, between my father and thy father; lo, I have sent to thee a reward of silver and gold; go, break thy covenant with Baasha king of Israel, and he goeth up from off me.'

20 Und Ben-Hadad hörte auf den König Asa und sandte die Obersten seiner Streitmacht wider die Städte Israels und schlug Ijon und Dan und Abel Beth-Maachah und ganz Kinneroth, nebst dem ganzen Lande Naphthali.

And Ben-Hadad hearkeneth unto king Asa, and sendeth the heads of the forces that he hath against cities of Israel, and smiteth Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-Beth-Maachah, and all Chinneroth, besides all the land of Naphtali;

21 Und es geschah, da Baescha das hörte, hörte er auf, Ramah zu bauen, und wohnte in Thirzah.

and it cometh to pass at Baasha's hearing, that he ceaseth from building Ramah, and dwelleth in Tirzah.

22 Und der König Asa ließ hören ganz Judah, so daß niemand dessen ledig war, und sie trugen die Steine Ramahs und sein Holzwerk, das Baescha gebaut, weg, und König Asa baute damit Geba in Benjamin und Mizpah.

And king Asa hath summoned all Judah — there is none exempt — and they lift up the stones of Ramah, and its wood, that Baasha hath built, and king Asa buildeth with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.

23 Und alle übrigen Geschichten Asas und all seine Macht und alles, was er getan, und die Städte, die er gebaut, sind sie nicht geschrieben in dem Buche der Tages- geschichten der Könige Judahs? Nur zur Zeit seines Alters ward er krank an seinen Füßen.

And the rest of all the matters of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities that he built, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah? Only, at the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet;

24 Und Asa entschlief mit seinen Vätern, und ward begraben bei seinen Vätern, in der Stadt Davids, seines Vaters, und Jehoschaphat, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Stelle.

and Asa lieth with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers in the city of David his father, and Jehoshaphat his son reigneth in his stead.

25 Und Nadab, der Sohn Jerobeams, ward König über Israel im zweiten Jahre Asas, des Königs von Judah, und war zwei Jahre König über Israel.

And Nadab son of Jeroboam hath reigned over Israel, in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and he reigneth over Israel two years,

26 Und er tat, was böse war in den Augen Jehovahs, und wandelte im Wege seines Vaters und in seiner Sünde, damit er Israel hatte sündigen gemacht.

and doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, and goeth in the way of his father, and in his sin that he made Israel to sin.

27 Und es verschwor sich gegen ihn Baescha, der Sohn Achijahs, vom Hause Issaschar, und Baescha schlug ihn in Gibbethon, das der Philister ist; Nadab aber und ganz Israel belagerten Gibbethon.

And conspire against him doth Baasha son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, and Baasha smiteth him in Gibbethon, which [is] to the Philistines — and Nadab and all Israel are laying siege against Gibbethon —

28 Und Baescha tötete ihn im dritten Jahre Asas, des Königs von Judah, und ward König an seiner Stelle.

yea, Baasha putteth him to death in the third year of Asa king of Judah, and reigneth in his stead.

29 Und es geschah, als er König ward, erschlug er das ganze Haus Jerobeams und ließ keinen, der Odem hatte, von Jerobeam verbleiben, bis er ihn vernichtet hatte nach dem Worte Jehovahs, das Er durch die Hand Seines Knechtes Achijah, des Schiloniters, geredet hatte.

And it cometh to pass, at his reigning, he hath smitten the whole house of Jeroboam, he hath not left any breathing to Jeroboam till his destroying him, according to the word of Jehovah, that He spake by the hand of His servant Ahijah the Shilonite,

30 Ob den Sünden Jerobeams, die er sündigte, und die er Israel sündigen machte, ob dem Reizen, weil er Jehovah, den Gott Israels, reizte.

because of the sins of Jeroboam that he sinned, and that he caused Israel to sin, by his provocation with which he provoked to anger Jehovah, God of Israel.

31 Und die übrigen Geschichten Nadabs und alles, was er tat, ist es nicht geschrieben im Buche der Tagesgeschichten der Könige Israels?

And the rest of the matters of Nadab, and all that he did, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?

32 Und es war Streit zwischen Asa und Baescha, dem Könige Israels, all ihre Tage.

And war hath been between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

33 Im dritten Jahre Asas, des Königs von Judah, ward Baescha, der Sohn Achijahs, König über ganz Israel in Thirzah, vierundzwanzig Jahre.

In the third year of Asa king of Judah reigned hath Baasha son of Ahijah over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years,

34 Und er tat, was böse war in den Augen Jehovahs, und wandelte im Wege Jerobeams und in seiner Sünde, damit er Israel hatte sündigen gemacht.

and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, and walketh in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin that he caused Israel to sin.
