Roemers 14
1 Des Schwachen im Glauben nehmet euch an, doch nicht um über Meinungen zu streiten.
Him that is weak in his faith receive with kindness, and not to pass judgment on his thoughts.
2 Einer glaubt, alles essen zu dürfen; wer aber schwach ist, ißt Gemüse.
One man hath faith to eat every kind of food; another, who is weak, eateth herbs only.
3 Wer ißt, verachte den nicht, der nicht ißt; und wer nicht ißt, richte den nicht, der ißt; denn Gott hat ihn angenommen.
Let not him who eateth, despise him that eateth not; and let not him who eateth not, judge him that eateth; for God hath received him.
4 Wer bist du, daß du einen fremden Knecht richtest? Er steht oder fällt seinem Herrn. Er wird aber aufgerichtet werden; denn der Herr vermag ihn aufzurichten.
Who art thou that judgest the servant of another? To his own lord he standeth or falleth; and he shall be made to stand; for the Lord is able to make him stand.
5 Dieser achtet einen Tag höher als den andern, jener hält alle Tage gleich; ein jeglicher sei seiner Meinung gewiß!
One man esteemeth one day above another; another esteemeth every day alike: let each one be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it to the Lord;
6 Wer auf den Tag schaut, schaut darauf für den Herrn, und wer nicht auf den Tag schaut, schaut nicht darauf für den Herrn. Wer ißt, der ißt für den Herrn; denn er dankt Gott, und wer nicht ißt, der ißt nicht für den Herrn und dankt Gott.
and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. And he that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth thanks to God; and he that doth not eat, to the Lord he doth not eat, and giveth thanks to God.
7 Denn keiner von uns lebt sich selbst und keiner stirbt sich selbst.
For none of us liveth to himself, and no one dieth to himself.
8 Leben wir, so leben wir dem Herrn, sterben wir, so sterben wir dem Herrn; ob wir nun leben oder sterben, so sind wir des Herrn.
For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Whether then we live or die, we are the Lord's.
9 Denn dazu ist Christus gestorben und wieder lebendig geworden, daß er sowohl über Tote als auch über Lebende Herr sei.
For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and the living.
10 Du aber, was richtest du deinen Bruder? Oder du, was verachtest du deinen Bruder? Wir werden alle vor dem Richterstuhl Christi erscheinen;
But thou, why dost thou judge thy brother? And thou, too, why dost thou despise thy brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment-seat of God.
11 denn es steht geschrieben: «So wahr ich lebe, spricht der Herr, mir soll sich beugen jedes Knie, und jede Zunge wird Gott bekennen.»
For it is written, “As I live, saith the Lord, to me every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall give praise to God.”
12 So wird also ein jeglicher für sich selbst Gott Rechenschaft geben.
So then every one of us will give account of himself to God.
13 Darum laßt uns nicht mehr einander richten, sondern das richtet vielmehr, daß dem Bruder weder Anstoß noch Ärgernis gegeben werde!
Let us then no longer judge one another; but let this rather be your judgment, not to put a stumbling-block, or an occasion to fall, in a brother's way.
14 Ich weiß und bin in dem Herrn Jesus davon überzeugt, daß nichts an sich selbst unrein ist; sondern nur für den, der etwas für unrein hält, ist es unrein.
I know, and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself; but to him that accounteth anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
15 Wenn aber dein Bruder um einer Speise willen betrübt wird, so wandelst du schon nicht nach der Liebe. Verdirb mit deiner Speise nicht den, für welchen Christus gestorben ist!
For if on account of food thy brother is made to mourn, thou art no longer walking according to love. Do not with thy food destroy him for whom Christ died.
16 So soll nun euer Bestes nicht verlästert werden!
Let not then the blessing which ye enjoy be evil spoken of.
17 Denn das Reich Gottes ist nicht Essen und Trinken, sondern Gerechtigkeit, Friede und Freude im heiligen Geist;
For the kingdom of God is not food and drink, but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit;
18 wer darin Christus dient, der ist Gott wohlgefällig und auch von den Menschen gebilligt.
for he who in this matter serveth Christ is well-pleasing to God, and approved by men.
19 So laßt uns nun dem nachjagen, was zum Frieden und zur Erbauung untereinander dient.
Let us then strive to promote peace, and the edification of each other.
20 Zerstöre nicht wegen einer Speise Gottes Werk! Es ist zwar alles rein, aber es ist demjenigen schädlich, welcher es mit Anstoß ißt.
Do not for the sake of food undo the work of God. All things indeed are clean; but that which is pure is evil for that man who eateth so as to be an occasion of sin.
21 Es ist gut, wenn du kein Fleisch issest und keinen Wein trinkst, noch sonst etwas [tust], woran dein Bruder Anstoß oder Ärgernis nehmen oder schwach werden könnte.
It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor to do anything whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is put in danger of falling, or is made weak.
22 Du hast Glauben? Habe ihn für dich selbst vor Gott! Selig, wer sich selbst nicht beschuldigt in dem, was er billigt;
Thou hast faith; have it to thyself before God. Happy is he who doth not condemn himself in that which he alloweth.
23 wer aber zweifelt und doch ißt, der ist verurteilt, weil es nicht aus Glauben geschieht. Alles aber, was nicht aus Glauben geschieht, ist Sünde.
But he that doubteth is condemned if he eat, because he doeth it not from faith; but every thing which is not from faith is sin.
