Psalm 92
1 Ein Psalmlied. Für den Sabbattag. Gut ist's, dem HERRN zu danken und zu singen deinem Namen, du Höchster;
It is a good thing to yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to Adonai, to sing zahmar ·musical praise· to your name, Most High;
2 des Morgens deine Gnade und des Nachts deine Treue zu verkünden,
to proclaim your chesed ·loving-kindness· in the morning, and your faithfulness every night,
3 auf der zehnsaitigen Laute und dem Psalter, zum Harfenspiel.
with the ten-stringed lute, with the harp, and with the lyre's solemn higgayon (meditation)
4 Denn du hast mich erfreut, o HERR, durch dein Tun, und ich rühme die Werke deiner Hände:
For you, Adonai, have made me glad through your work. I will triumph in the works of your hands.
5 HERR, wie sind deine Werke so groß, deine Gedanken sind sehr tief!
How great are your works, Adonai! Your thoughts are very deep.
6 Ein unvernünftiger Mensch erkennt das nicht, und ein Tor beachtet es nicht.
A senseless man does not know, neither does a fool understand this:
7 Wenn die Gottlosen grünen wie das Gras und alle Übeltäter blühen, so ist's nur, damit sie für immer vertilgt werden.
though the wicked spring up as the grass, and all those who practice vain striving of iniquity flourish, they will be destroyed forever.
8 Du aber, HERR, bist auf ewig erhaben!
But you, Adonai, are on high forever more.
9 Denn siehe, HERR, deine Feinde, ja, deine Feinde kommen um, alle Übeltäter werden zerstreut werden!
For, behold, your enemies, Adonai, for, behold, your enemies shall perish. All those who practice vain striving of iniquity will be scattered.
10 Aber mein Horn erhöhst du wie das eines Büffels; ich werde übergossen mit frischem Öl;
But you have exalted my horn like that of the wild ox. I am anointed with fresh oil.
11 und mein Auge wird seine Lust sehen an denen, die mir auflauern; und mein Ohr wird seine Lust hören an den Bösen, die sich wider mich erheben.
My eye has also seen my enemies. My ears have sh'ma ·heard obeyed· of the wicked enemies who rise up against me.
12 Der Gerechte wird grünen wie ein Palmbaum, er wird wachsen wie eine Zeder auf dem Libanon.
The upright shall flourish like the palm tree. He will grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13 Die gepflanzt sind im Hause des HERRN, werden in den Vorhöfen unsres Gottes grünen;
They are planted in Adonai’s house. They will flourish in our God’s courts.
14 noch im Alter tragen sie Frucht, sind saftig und frisch,
They will still produce fruit in old age. They will be full of sap and green,
15 zu verkünden, daß der HERR gerecht ist, mein Fels, und daß nichts Verkehrtes an ihm ist.
to show that Adonai is upright. He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
