Psalm 5
1 Dem Vorsänger. Mit Flötenspiel. Ein Psalm Davids. Vernimm, o HERR, mein Reden, merke auf mein Seufzen!
For the Chief Musician; with the Nehiloth. A Psalm of David. Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my (meditation)
2 Achte auf die Stimme meines Schreiens, mein König und mein Gott; denn zu dir will ich beten!
Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee do I pray.
3 HERR, frühe wollest du meine Stimme hören; frühe will ich dir zu Befehl sein und ausschauen;
O LORD, in the morning shalt thou hear my voice; in the morning will I order [my prayer] unto thee, and will keep watch.
4 denn du bist nicht ein Gott, dem lockeres Wesen gefällt; wer böse ist, bleibt nicht bei dir.
For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: evil shall not sojourn with thee.
5 Die Prahler bestehen vor deinen Augen nicht; du hassest alle Übeltäter.
The arrogant shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
6 Du bringst die Lügner um; den Blutgierigen und Falschen verabscheut der HERR.
Thou shalt destroy them that speak lies: the LORD abhorreth the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.
7 Ich aber darf durch deine große Gnade in dein Haus eingehen; ich will anbeten, zu deinem heiligen Tempel gewendet, in deiner Furcht.
But as for me, in the multitude of thy lovingkindness will I come into thy house: in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
8 HERR, leite mich in deiner Gerechtigkeit um meiner Feinde willen, ebne deinen Weg vor mir her!
Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way plain before my face.
9 Denn in ihrem Munde ist nichts Zuverlässiges; ihr Herz ist ein Abgrund, ihr Rachen ein offenes Grab, glatte Zungen haben sie.
For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness: their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.
10 Sprich sie schuldig, o Gott, laß sie fallen ob ihren Ratschlägen, verstoße sie um ihrer vielen Übertretungen willen; denn sie haben sich empört wider dich.
Hold them guilty, O God; let them fall by their own counsels: thrust them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.
11 Aber laß sich freuen alle, die auf dich vertrauen, ewiglich laß sie jubeln und beschirme sie; und fröhlich sollen sein in dir, die deinen Namen lieben!
But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice, let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
12 Denn du, HERR, segnest den Gerechten; du umgibst ihn mit Gnade wie mit einem Schilde.
For thou wilt bless the righteous; O LORD, thou wilt compass him with favour as with a shield.
