Psalm 33
1 Jauchzet dem HERRN, ihr Gerechten! Den Redlichen ziemt Lobgesang.
Shout for joy, ye righteous, in Yahweh, To the upright, seemly is praise.
2 Preiset den HERRN mit der Harfe, spielet ihm auf dem zehnsaitigen Psalter;
Give ye thanks unto Yahweh with the lyre, With a harp of ten strings, make ye music unto him.
3 singet ihm ein neues Lied, spielet gut, mit Posaunenschall!
Sing unto him, a song that is new, With skill, sweep the strings, with loud noise.
4 Denn das Wort des HERRN ist richtig, und all sein Werk ist Treue.
For right is the word of Yahweh, and, all his work, is in faithfulness:
5 Er liebt Gerechtigkeit und Gericht; die Erde ist voll der Gnade des HERRN.
Who loveth righteousness and justice, With the lovingkindness of Yahweh, the earth is full.
6 Die Himmel sind durch das Wort des HERRN gemacht und ihr ganzes Heer durch den Geist seines Mundes.
By the word of Yahweh, the heavens were made, and, by the spirit of his mouth, all their host:
7 Er türmt die Meereswellen auf und sammelt Wasservorräte an.
Who gathered as into a skin-bottle the waters of the sea, Delivering, into treasuries, the roaring deeps.
8 Alle Welt fürchte den HERRN, und vor ihm scheue sich alles, was auf dem Erdboden wohnt.
Let all the earth, stand in awe of Yahweh, Of him, be in dread, all ye inhabitants of the world;
9 Denn er sprach, und es geschah; er gebot, und es stand da!
For, he, spake, and it was, He, commanded, and it stood forth.
10 Der HERR vereitelt den Rat der Heiden, er verhindert die Anschläge der Völker.
Yahweh, hath frustrated the counsel of nations, hath brought to nothing the devices of peoples.
11 Der Rat des HERRN besteht ewiglich, seines Herzens Gedanken für und für.
The counsel of Yahweh, to times age-abiding, shall stand, The devices of his heart, from generation to generation.
12 Wohl dem Volk, dessen Gott der HERR ist, dem Volk, das er sich zum Erbe erwählt hat!
How happy the nation whose God is, Yahweh, The people he hath chosen as his own inheritance!
13 Vom Himmel schaut der HERR herab, er betrachtet alle Menschenkinder;
Out of the heavens, hath Yahweh looked, He hath seen all the sons of men:
14 von seinem festen Thron sieht er alle, die auf Erden wohnen;
Out of his settled place of abode, hath he fixed his gaze on all the inhabitants of the earth:
15 er, der ihrer aller Herz gebildet hat, bemerkt auch alle ihre Werke.
Who fashioneth their heart all together, Who understandeth all their doings.
16 Einem König ist nicht geholfen mit viel Heeresmacht, ein Held wird nicht errettet durch große Kraft;
Not a king, can be saved by greatness of force, nor, hero, deliver himself by greatness of strength:
17 das Roß ist unzuverlässig zur Rettung, und trotz seiner großen Stärke kann man nicht entrinnen.
A deception, is the horse, for victory, and, by his great strength, shall he not deliver.
18 Siehe, der HERR hat ein Auge auf die, so ihn fürchten, die auf seine Gnade hoffen,
Lo! the eye of Yahweh, is toward them who revere him, unto such as are waiting for his lovingkindness:
19 daß er ihre Seele vom Tode errette und sie in der Teuerung am Leben erhalte.
To rescue, from death, their soul, and to keep them alive in famine.
20 Unsre Seele harrt auf den HERRN; er ist unsre Hilfe und unser Schild.
Our own soul, hath waited for Yahweh, Our help and our shield, is he!
21 Ja, an ihm soll unser Herz sich freuen; denn auf seinen heiligen Namen haben wir unser Vertrauen gesetzt.
For, in him, shall our heart rejoice, For, in his holy Name, have we trusted.
22 Deine Gnade, o HERR, sei über uns, wie wir es von dir erhoffen!
Be thy lovingkindness, O Yahweh, upon us, According as we have waited for thee.
