Psalm 26

1 Von David. Richte du mich, o HERR; denn ich bin in meiner Unschuld gewandelt und habe mein Vertrauen auf den HERRN gesetzt; ich werde nicht wanken.

David’s. Do me justice, O Yahweh, For, I, in my blamelessness, have walked, and, in Yahweh, have I trusted, I will not waver.

2 Prüfe mich, HERR, und erprobe mich; läutere meine Nieren und mein Herz!

Try me, O Yahweh, and prove me, Test my reins and my heart: —

3 Denn deine Gnade war mir vor Augen, und ich wandelte in deiner Wahrheit.

For, thy lovingkindness, hath been before mine eyes, and I have walked to and fro in thy faithfulness;

4 Ich blieb nie bei falschen Leuten und gehe nicht zu Hinterlistigen.

I have not sat with men of deceit, nor, with dissemblers, would I enter;

5 Ich hasse die Versammlung der Boshaften und sitze nicht bei den Gottlosen.

I have hated the convocation of evil-doers, and, with lawless men, would I not sit;

6 Ich wasche meine Hände in Unschuld und halte mich, HERR, zu deinem Altar,

I will bathe, in pureness, my hands, —so will I go in procession around thine altar, O Yahweh;

7 um Lobgesang erschallen zu lassen und alle deine Wunder zu erzählen.

To sound aloud a song, and to recount all thy wonderful doings.

8 HERR, ich habe lieb die Stätte deines Hauses und den Ort, da deine Herrlichkeit wohnt!

O Yahweh, I have loved the asylum of thy house, even the place of the habitation of thy glory!

9 Raffe meine Seele nicht hin mit den Sündern, noch mein Leben mit den Blutgierigen,

Do not remove, with sinners, my soul, nor, with men of bloodshed, my life;

10 an deren Händen Laster klebt und deren Rechte voll Bestechung ist.

In whose hands is a plot, and, their right hand, is filled with a bribe.

11 Ich aber wandle in meiner Unschuld; erlöse mich und sei mir gnädig!

But, I, in my blamelessness, will walk, Redeem me and show me favour.

12 Mein Fuß steht auf ebenem Boden; ich will den HERRN loben in den Versammlungen.

My foot standeth in a level place, In the convocations, will I bless Yahweh.
