Psalm 149

1 Hallelujah! Singet dem HERRN ein neues Lied, sein Lob in der Gemeinde der Frommen!

Praise ye Yah, Sing to Yahweh a song that is new, his praise in the convocation of the men of lovingkindness.

2 Israel freue sich seines Schöpfers, die Kinder Zions sollen jubeln über ihren König!

Let Israel rejoice in him that made him, Let the sons of Zion exult in their king;

3 Sie sollen seinen Namen loben im Reigen, mit Pauken und Harfen ihm spielen!

Let them praise his Name in the dance, with timbrel and lyre, Let them make music to him.

4 Denn der HERR hat Wohlgefallen an seinem Volk; er schmückt die Gedemütigten mit Heil.

For Yahweh is taking pleasure in his people, He will beautify humbled ones with victory.

5 Die Frommen sollen frohlocken vor Herrlichkeit, sie sollen jauchzen auf ihren Lagern;

Let the men of lovingkindness exult as they glory, Let them shout aloud upon their beds:

6 das Lob Gottes sei in ihrem Mund und ein zweischneidiges Schwert in ihrer Hand,

The high songs of GOD be in their throat, and a two-edged sword in their hand:

7 um Rache zu üben an den Völkern, Strafe an den Nationen,

To execute an avenging among the nations, rebukes among the peoples:

8 um ihre Könige mit Ketten zu binden und ihre Edlen mit eisernen Fesseln,

To bind their kings with fetters, and their honoured ones with iron bands:

9 um an ihnen zu vollstrecken das geschriebene Urteil; das ist eine Ehre für alle seine Frommen. Hallelujah!

To execute upon them the sentence written, An honour, shall it be to all his men of lovingkindness. Praise ye Yah!
