Psalm 143
1 Ein Psalm Davids. HERR, höre mein Gebet, merke auf mein Flehen! Antworte mir in deiner Treue, in deiner Gerechtigkeit!
A Melody of David. O Yahweh, hear my prayer, Give ear to my supplications, In thy faithfulness, answer me, in thy righteousness.
2 Und gehe nicht ins Gericht mit deinem Knecht; denn vor dir ist kein Lebendiger gerecht!
Do not then enter into judgment with thy servant, for no one living, can appear just before thee.
3 Denn der Feind verfolgt meine Seele; er hat mein Leben zu Boden getreten und zwingt mich, im Dunkeln zu sitzen wie die längst Verstorbenen.
For an enemy hath pursued my soul, hath crushed, to the earth, my life, hath made me dwell in dark places, like the ancient dead.
4 Und mein Geist ist tief betrübt, mein Herz will erstarren in mir.
Therefore hath my spirit, fainted concerning myself, Within me, hath, my heart, been confounded.
5 Ich gedenke der längst vergangenen Tage, rufe mir alle deine Taten in Erinnerung und sinne über die Werke deiner Hände.
I have remembered the days of aforetime, I have talked with myself of every deed of thine, Of the work of thy hands, I would speak:
6 Ich strecke meine Hände aus nach dir, meine Seele schmachtet nach dir wie ein dürres Land. (Pause)
I have spread out my hands unto thee, My soul, is as a thirsty land, for thee. (Selah)
7 Erhöre mich eilends, o HERR! Mein Geist nimmt ab; verbirg dein Angesicht nicht vor mir, daß ich nicht denen gleich werde, die in die Grube hinabfahren.
Speedily answer me, O Yahweh, My spirit faileth, —Do not hide thy face from me, or I shall be made like unto them who go down into the pit.
8 Laß mich frühe deine Gnade hören; denn auf dich vertraue ich! Tue mir kund den Weg, darauf ich gehen soll; denn zu dir erhebe ich meine Seele.
Let me hear, in the morning, thy lovingkindness, for, in thee, have, I trusted, —Let me know the way in which I should walk, for, unto thee, have I uplifted my soul.
9 Errette mich, HERR, von meinen Feinden; denn bei dir suche ich Schutz!
Rescue me from my foes, O Yahweh, Unto thee, have I come seeking refuge.
10 Lehre mich tun nach deinem Wohlgefallen; denn du bist mein Gott, dein guter Geist führe mich auf richtiger Bahn!
Teach me to do thy good pleasure, for, thou, art my God, —Thy spirit, is good, thou wilt set me down to rest in a level land.
11 Um deines Namens willen, HERR, erhalte mich am Leben; durch deine Gerechtigkeit führe meine Seele aus der Not!
For the sake of thy Name, O Yahweh, wilt thou give unto me life, In thy righteousness, wilt thou bring forth, out of distress, my soul;
12 Und in deiner Gnade vertilge meine Feinde und bringe alle Widersacher meiner Seele um! Denn ich bin dein Knecht.
And, in thy lovingkindness, wilt thou exterminate my foes, —and destroy all the adversaries of my soul, because, I, am thy servant.
