Psalm 119
1 Wohl denen, deren Weg unsträflich ist, die da wandeln nach dem Gesetze des HERRN!
ALEPH. Happy are they whose way is perfect, who walk in the law of the Lord.
2 Wohl denen, die seine Zeugnisse beobachten, die ihn von ganzem Herzen suchen,
Happy are they who keep his testimonies, that seek him with all their heart.
3 die auch kein Unrecht getan haben, die auf seinen Wegen gegangen sind!
They also commit no injustice; in his ways do they walk.
4 Du hast deine Befehle gegeben, daß man sie fleißig beobachte.
Thou thyself hast commanded us thy precepts, that we might keep [them] diligently.
5 O daß meine Wege dahin zielten, deine Satzungen zu befolgen!
Oh that my ways were firmly directed to observe thy statutes!
6 Dann werde ich nicht zuschanden, wenn ich auf alle deine Gebote sehe.
Then would I not be made ashamed, while I look at all thy commandments.
7 Ich werde dir mit aufrichtigem Herzen danken, wenn ich die Verordnungen deiner Gerechtigkeit lerne.
I will thank thee with uprightness of heart, when I learn thy righteous ordinances.
8 Deine Satzungen will ich befolgen; verlaß mich nicht ganz und gar!
Thy statutes will I observe: oh forsake me not too greatly.
9 Wie wird ein Jüngling seinen Weg unsträflich gehen? Wenn er sich hält nach deinem Wort!
BETH. Wherewithal shall a youth keep his way pure? by guarding it according to thy word.
10 Ich habe dich von ganzem Herzen gesucht; laß mich nicht abirren von deinen Geboten!
With all my heart have I sought thee: oh let me not wander astray from thy commandments.
11 Ich habe dein Wort in meinem Herzen geborgen, auf daß ich nicht an dir sündige.
In my heart have I treasured up thy saying, in order that I may not sin against thee.
12 Gelobt seist du, o HERR! Lehre mich deine Satzungen.
Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy statutes.
13 Mit meinen Lippen zähle ich alle Verordnungen deines Mundes auf.
With my lips have I related all the ordinances of thy mouth.
14 Ich freue mich des Weges deiner Zeugnisse, wie über lauter Reichtümer.
On the way of thy testimonies have I been glad, as over all wealth.
15 Ich will über deine Wege nachsinnen und auf deine Pfade achten.
On thy precepts will I meditate, and direct my look unto thy paths.
16 Ich habe meine Lust an deinen Satzungen und vergesse deines Wortes nicht.
In thy statutes will I seek my delight: I will not forget thy word.
17 Gewähre deinem Knecht, daß ich lebe und dein Wort befolge!
GIMEL. Deal bountifully with thy servant: let me live, that I may observe thy word.
18 Öffne meine Augen, daß ich erblicke die Wunder in deinem Gesetz!
Open thou my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.
19 Ich bin ein Gast auf Erden; verbirg deine Gebote nicht vor mir!
A stranger am I on the earth: hide not from me thy commandments.
20 Meine Seele ist zermalmt vor Sehnsucht nach deinen Verordnungen allezeit.
My soul is broken from longing for thy ordinances at all times.
21 Du hast die Übermütigen gescholten, die Verfluchten, welche von deinen Geboten abirren.
Thou hast rebuked the accursed proud, who go erringly astray from thy commandments.
22 Wälze Schimpf und Schande von mir ab; denn ich habe deine Zeugnisse bewahrt!
Roll away from me reproach and contempt; for thy testimonies have I kept.
23 Sogar Fürsten sitzen und bereden sich wider mich; aber dein Knecht sinnt über deine Satzungen.
Although even princes should sit and speak against me, thy servant would still meditate on thy statutes.
24 Ja, deine Zeugnisse sind meine Freude; sie sind meine Ratgeber.
Also thy testimonies are my delight, my counsellors.
25 Meine Seele klebt am Staube; belebe mich nach deiner Verheißung!
DALETH. My soul cleaveth unto the dust: revive thou me according to thy word.
26 Ich habe meine Wege erzählt, und du hast mir geantwortet; lehre mich deine Satzungen!
My ways do I relate [to thee], and thou answerest me: teach me thy statutes.
27 Laß mich den Weg deiner Befehle verstehen und deine Wunder betrachten!
Cause me to understand the way of thy precepts, that I may meditate on thy wonders.
28 Meine Seele weint vor Kummer; richte mich auf nach deinem Wort!
My soul droppeth away from grief: sustain me according to thy word.
29 Entferne von mir den falschen Weg und begnadige mich mit deinem Gesetz!
The way of falsehood do thou remove from me, and grant me graciously thy law.
30 Ich habe den Weg der Wahrheit erwählt und deine Verordnungen vor mich hingestellt.
The way of truth have I chosen: thy ordinances have I set [before me].
31 HERR, ich hange an deinen Zeugnissen; laß mich nicht zuschanden werden!
I have adhered unto thy testimonies: O Lord, put me not to shame.
32 Ich laufe den Weg deiner Gebote; denn du machst meinem Herzen Raum.
The way of thy commandments will I run; for thou wilt enlarge my heart.
33 Zeige mir, HERR, den Weg deiner Satzungen, daß ich ihn bewahre bis ans Ende.
HE. Teach me, O Lord, the way of thy statutes, and I shall keep it in all its windings.
34 Unterweise mich, so will ich dein Gesetz bewahren und es von ganzem Herzen befolgen.
Give me understanding, that I may keep thy law, and I will observe it with all [my] heart.
35 Laß mich wandeln auf dem Pfad deiner Gebote; denn ich habe Lust daran.
Guide me on the path of thy commandments; for therein do I find my delight.
36 Neige mein Herz zu deinen Zeugnissen und nicht zur Habsucht!
Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to desire for gain.
37 Wende meine Augen ab, daß sie nicht nach Eitlem sehen; erquicke mich auf deinen Wegen!
Turn away my eyes from beholding vanity: on thy way do thou give me life.
38 Erfülle an deinem Knechte deine Verheißung, die denen gilt, die dich fürchten.
Fulfill unto thy servant thy promise for those who are devoted to thy fear.
39 Wende die Beschimpfung von mir ab, die ich fürchte; denn deine Verordnungen sind gut!
Cause to pass away my disgrace of which I have dread; for thy ordinances are good.
40 Siehe, ich sehne mich nach deinen Befehlen; erquicke mich durch deine Gerechtigkeit!
Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: through thy righteousness do thou give my life.
41 Deine Gnade, o HERR, komme über mich, dein Heil nach deinem Wort!
VAV. And let thy kindness come unto me, O Lord, thy salvation, according to thy promise.
42 Damit ich dem antworten kann, der mich schmäht; denn ich verlasse mich auf dein Wort.
Then shall I have a word to answer the one that reproacheth me; for I trust in thy word.
43 Und entziehe nicht allzusehr meinem Munde das Wort der Wahrheit; denn ich harre auf deine Verordnungen!
And snatch not the word of truth out of my mouth too greatly; for I wait for thy ordinances.
44 Und ich will dein Gesetz stets bewahren, immer und ewiglich.
So shall I observe thy law continually for ever and ever.
45 Und ich möchte auf weitem Raum wandeln; denn ich habe deine Befehle erforscht.
And I will walk in an open space; for thy precepts have I sought.
46 Und ich will von deinen Zeugnissen reden vor Königen und mich nicht schämen.
And I will speak of thy testimonies before kings, and will not be ashamed.
47 Und ich will mich an deinen Befehlen vergnügen; denn ich liebe sie.
And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I love.
48 Und ich will meine Hände nach deinen Befehlen ausstrecken, weil ich sie liebe, und will nachdenken über deine Satzungen.
And so will I lift up my hands unto thy commandments, which I love, and I will meditate on thy statutes.
49 Gedenke des Wortes an deinen Knecht, auf welches du mich hoffen ließest!
ZAYIN. Remember thy word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to wait.
50 Das ist mein Trost in meinem Elend, daß dein Wort mich erquickt.
This is my comfort in my affliction, that thy promise hath revived me.
51 Die Übermütigen haben mich arg verspottet; dennoch bin ich von deinem Gesetz nicht abgewichen.
The presumptuous have held me too greatly in derision: yet have I not departed away from thy law.
52 Ich gedachte deiner Verordnungen, HERR, die von Ewigkeit her sind, und das tröstete mich.
I remembered thy decrees [which were] from olden times, O Lord, and thus comforted myself.
53 Zornglut hat mich ergriffen wegen der Gottlosen, die dein Gesetz verlassen.
Horror seized on me because of the wicked that forsake thy law.
54 Deine Satzungen sind meine Lieder geworden im Hause meiner Wallfahrt.
Songs have thy statutes been unto me in the house of my pilgrimage.
55 HERR, des Nachts habe ich an deinen Namen gedacht und dein Gesetz bewahrt.
I remembered in the night thy name, O Lord, and observed thy law.
56 Das ist mir zuteil geworden, daß ich deine Befehle befolgen darf.
This came to pass unto me, because I had kept thy precepts.
57 Ich sage: Das ist mein Teil, o HERR, die Beobachtung deiner Worte!
CHETH. My portion is the Lord, have I said, that I might observe thy words.
58 Ich flehe von ganzem Herzen um deine Gunst: Sei mir gnädig, wie du verheißen hast!
I make entreaty before thee with all my heart: be gracious unto me according to thy promise.
59 Als ich meine Wege überlegte, wandte ich meine Füße zu deinen Zeugnissen.
I have thought over my ways, and made my feet return unto thy testimonies.
60 Ich habe mich beeilt und nicht gesäumt, deine Gebote zu befolgen.
I hastened, and delayed not to observe thy commandments.
61 Als die Schlingen der Gottlosen mich umgaben, vergaß ich deines Gesetzes nicht.
Companies of wicked men have surrounded me; but I have not forgotten thy law.
62 Mitten in der Nacht stehe ich auf, dir zu danken für die Verordnungen deiner Gerechtigkeit.
At midnights do I constantly rise to give thanks unto thee, because of thy righteous decrees.
63 Ich bin verbunden mit allen, die dich fürchten, und die deine Befehle befolgen.
An associate am I unto all that fear thee, and unto those that keep thy precepts.
64 HERR, die Erde ist voll deiner Gnade; lehre mich deine Satzungen!
Of thy kindness, O Lord, is the earth full: teach me thy statutes.
65 Du hast deinem Knechte wohlgetan, o HERR, nach deinem Wort.
TETH. Thou hast shown goodness on thy servant, O Lord, according to thy word.
66 Lehre mich rechte Einsicht und Verständnis; denn ich vertraue deinen Befehlen.
The best of discernment and knowledge do thou teach me; for in thy commandments do I believe.
67 Ehe ich gedemütigt ward, irrte ich, nun aber befolge ich dein Wort.
Before I was afflicted I was in error; but now I observe thy saying.
68 Du bist gut und wohltätig; lehre mich deine Satzungen!
Thou art good, and doing good: teach me thy statutes.
69 Die Stolzen haben mich mit Lügen besudelt; ich beobachte von ganzem Herzen deine Befehle.
The presumptuous have invented falsehoods against me; but I will with all my heart indeed keep thy precepts.
70 Ihr Herz ist stumpf wie von Fett; ich aber vergnüge mich an deinem Gesetz.
Gross as fat is their heart; but I take truly delight in thy law.
71 Es war gut für mich, daß ich gedemütigt wurde, auf daß ich deine Satzungen lernte.
It is well for me that I have been afflicted, in order that I might learn thy statutes.
72 Das Gesetz deines Mundes ist besser für mich als Tausende von Gold und Silberstücken.
Better is unto me the law of thy mouth than thousands of gold and silver.
73 Deine Hände haben mich gemacht und bereitet; gib mir Verstand, daß ich deine Befehle lerne!
YOD. Thy hands have made me and established me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments.
74 Die dich fürchten, werden mich sehen und sich freuen, daß ich auf dein Wort gewartet habe.
Those that fear thee will see me and be rejoiced; because I have waited for thy word.
75 HERR, ich weiß, daß deine Verordnungen gerecht sind und daß du mich in Treue gedemütigt hast.
I know, O Lord, that thy decrees are righteous, and that in faithfulness thou hast afflicted me.
76 Laß doch deine Gnade mir zum Trost gereichen, wie du deinem Knechte zugesagt hast!
Let, I pray thee, thy kindness come to comfort me, according to thy promise unto thy servant.
77 Laß mir deine Barmherzigkeit widerfahren, daß ich lebe! Denn dein Gesetz ist meine Lust.
Let thy mercies come unto me, that I may live; for thy law is my delight.
78 Laß die Stolzen zuschanden werden, weil sie mir mit Lügen Unrecht getan; ich aber denke über deine Befehle nach.
Let the presumptuous be made ashamed; because they have without a cause dealt perversely with me; but I will indeed meditate on thy precepts.
79 Mir wird zufallen, wer dich fürchtet und deine Zeugnisse anerkennt.
Let those that fear thee return unto me, and those that know thy testimonies.
80 Mein Herz soll sich gänzlich an deine Satzungen halten, damit ich nicht zuschanden werde.
Let my heart be entire in thy statutes, in order that I may not be put to shame.
81 Meine Seele schmachtet nach deinem Heil; ich harre auf dein Wort.
CAPH. My soul ardently desireth for thy salvation: for thy word do I wait.
82 Meine Augen schmachten nach deinem Wort und fragen: Wann wirst du mich trösten?
My eyes look eagerly for thy promise, saying, When wilt thou comfort me?
83 Bin ich auch geworden wie ein Schlauch im Rauch, so habe ich doch deiner Satzungen nicht vergessen.
For I am become like a bottle in the smoke: [yet] do I not forget thy statutes.
84 Wieviel sind noch der Tage deines Knechtes? Wann willst du an meinen Verfolgern das Urteil vollziehen?
How many are the days of thy servant? when wilt thou execute justice on my persecutors?
85 Die Übermütigen haben mir Gruben gegraben, sie, die sich nicht nach deinem Gesetze richten.
The presumptuous have dug pits for me, which is not in accordance with thy law.
86 Alle deine Gebote sind Wahrheit; sie aber verfolgen mich mit Lügen; hilf mir!
All thy commandments are founded on truth: without cause they persecute me; help thou me.
87 Sie hätten mich fast umgebracht auf Erden; dennoch verließ ich deine Befehle nicht.
But little was wanting that they had consumed me upon earth; but I have truly not forsaken thy precepts.
88 Erhalte mich am Leben nach deiner Gnade, so will ich die Zeugnisse deines Mundes bewahren.
According to thy kindness give me life, that I may observe the testimony of thy mouth.
89 Auf ewig, o HERR, steht dein Wort im Himmel fest;
LAMED. To eternity, O Lord, standeth firm thy word with the heavens.
90 von einem Geschlecht zum andern währt deine Treue! Du hast die Erde gegründet, und sie steht;
Unto all generations endureth thy faithfulness: thou hast established the earth, and she standeth.
91 nach deinen Ordnungen stehen sie noch heute; denn es muß dir alles dienen!
According to thy ordinances they exist this day: for all are thy servants.
92 Wäre dein Gesetz nicht meine Lust gewesen, so wäre ich vergangen in meinem Elend.
Unless thy law had been my delights, I should long since have been lost in my affliction.
93 Ich will deine Befehle auf ewig nicht vergessen; denn durch sie hast du mich belebt.
Never will I forget thy precepts; for with them thou hast kept me alive.
94 Ich bin dein; rette mich, denn ich habe deine Befehle gesucht!
Thine am I, save me; for thy precepts have I sought.
95 Die Gottlosen lauern mir auf, um mich zu verderben; aber ich merke auf deine Zeugnisse.
Wicked men have waited for me to destroy me; [but] I will reflect on thy testimonies.
96 Von aller Vollkommenheit habe ich ein Ende gesehen; aber dein Gebot ist unbeschränkt.
Of all perfection have I seen the end; [but] thy commandment is exceedingly extended.
97 Wie habe ich dein Gesetz so lieb! Ich denke darüber nach den ganzen Tag.
MEM. Oh how do I love thy law! all the day is it my (meditation)
98 Dein Gebot macht mich weiser als meine Feinde; denn es bleibt ewiglich bei mir.
Wiser than my enemy doth thy commandment make me; for it is perpetually with me.
99 Ich bin verständiger geworden als alle meine Lehrer, denn deine Zeugnisse sind mein Sinnen.
Above all my teachers have I obtained intelligence; for thy testimonies are my (meditation)
100 Ich bin einsichtiger als die Alten; denn ich achte auf deine Befehle.
More than the elders do I possess understanding; because thy precepts do I keep.
101 Von allen schlechten Wegen habe ich meine Füße abgehalten, um dein Wort zu befolgen.
From every evil path have I withholden my feet, in order that I might observe thy word.
102 Von deinen Verordnungen bin ich nicht abgewichen; denn du hast mich gelehrt.
From thy ordinances have I not departed; for thou hast instructed me.
103 Wie süß ist deine Rede meinem Gaumen, mehr denn Honig meinem Mund!
How much sweeter are to my palate thy sayings than honey to my mouth!
104 Von deinen Befehlen werde ich verständig; darum hasse ich jeden Lügenpfad.
Through thy precepts shall I obtain understanding: therefore do I hate every path of falsehood.
105 Dein Wort ist meines Fußes Leuchte und ein Licht für meinen Pfad.
NUN. A lamp unto my feet is thy word, and a light unto my path.
106 Ich habe geschworen und werde es halten, daß ich die Verordnungen deiner Gerechtigkeit bewahren will.
I have sworn, and I will perform it, to observe thy righteous ordinances.
107 Ich bin tief gebeugt; HERR, erquicke mich nach deinem Wort!
I am afflicted exceedingly much: O Lord, revive me, according to thy word.
108 HERR, laß dir wohlgefallen die freiwilligen Opfer meines Mundes und lehre mich deine Verordnungen!
Receive in favor the freewill-offerings of my mouth, I beseech thee, O Lord, and teach me thy ordinances.
109 Meine Seele ist beständig in meiner Hand, und ich vergesse deines Gesetzes nicht.
My life is in my hand continually: yet thy law do I not forget.
110 Die Gottlosen haben mir eine Schlinge gelegt; aber ich bin von deinen Befehlen nicht abgeirrt.
The wicked have laid a snare for me: yet have I not erred from thy precepts.
111 Deine Zeugnisse sind mein ewiges Erbe; denn sie sind meines Herzens Wonne.
I have taken thy testimonies as a heritage to eternity; for they are the joy of my heart.
112 Ich habe mein Herz geneigt, deine Satzungen auf ewig zu erfüllen.
I have inclined my heart to perform thy statutes always, in all their ways.
113 Ich hasse die Unentschiedenen; aber dein Gesetz habe ich lieb.
SAMECH. Those of divided thoughts I hate; but thy law do I love.
114 Du bist mein Schirm und mein Schild; ich harre auf dein Wort.
My shelter and my shield art thou: for thy word do I wait.
115 Weichet von mir, ihr Übeltäter, daß ich die Gebote meines Gottes befolge!
Depart from me, ye evildoers, that I may keep the commandments of God.
116 Unterstütze mich nach deiner Verheißung, daß ich lebe und nicht zuschanden werde mit meiner Hoffnung!
Uphold me according to thy promise, that I may live, and let me not be made ashamed of my hope.
117 Stärke du mich, so ist mir geholfen und ich werde mich an deinen Satzungen stets ergötzen!
Support me that I may be placed in safety, and I will direct my regard unto thy statutes continually.
118 Du wirst alle zu leicht erfinden, die von deinen Satzungen abweichen; denn eitel Betrug ist ihre Täuschung.
Thou hast trodden down all that erringly stray from thy statutes; for falsehood is their deceit.
119 Wie Schlacken räumst du alle Gottlosen von der Erde fort; darum liebe ich deine Zeugnisse.
Like dross dost thou put away all the wicked of the earth: therefore do I love thy testimonies.
120 Mein Fleisch schaudert aus Furcht vor dir, und ich habe Ehrfurcht vor deinen Verordnungen!
My flesh trembleth shudderingly from dread of thee, and of thy decrees am I afraid.
121 Ich habe Recht und Gerechtigkeit geübt; überlaß mich nicht meinen Unterdrückern!
'AYIN. I have executed justice and righteousness: leave me not to those who oppress me.
122 Stehe ein zum Besten deines Knechtes, daß mich die Übermütigen nicht unterdrücken!
Protect thy servant for good: let not the presumptuous oppress me.
123 Meine Augen schmachten nach deinem Heil und nach dem Wort deiner Gerechtigkeit.
My eyes look eagerly for thy salvation, and for thy righteous promise.
124 Handle mit deinem Knecht nach deiner Gnade und lehre mich deine Satzungen!
Deal with thy servant according to thy kindness, and thy statutes do thou teach me.
125 Ich bin dein Knecht; unterweise mich, daß ich deine Zeugnisse verstehe!
I am thy servant: give me understanding, that I may know thy testimonies.
126 Es ist Zeit, daß der HERR handle; sie haben dein Gesetz gebrochen!
It is time to act for the Lord: they have broken thy law.
127 Darum liebe ich deine Befehle mehr als Gold und als feines Gold;
Therefore do I love thy commandments more than gold, and more than fine gold.
128 darum lobe ich mir alle deine Gebote und hasse jeden trügerischen Pfad.
Therefore do I esteem all thy precepts in all things as right: every path of falsehood do I hate.
129 Wunderbar sind deine Zeugnisse; darum bewahrt sie meine Seele.
PE. Wonderful are thy testimonies: therefore doth my soul keep them.
130 Die Erschließung deiner Worte erleuchtet und macht die Einfältigen verständig.
The opening of thy words giveth light, it giveth understanding unto the simple.
131 Begierig öffne ich meinen Mund; denn mich verlangt nach deinen Befehlen.
I opened my mouth, and panted for breath; because for thy commandments did I long.
132 Wende dich zu mir und sei mir gnädig nach dem Rechte derer, die deinen Namen lieben.
Turn thou unto me, and be gracious unto me, as is thy wont unto those that love thy name.
133 Mache meine Schritte fest durch dein Wort und laß kein Unrecht über mich herrschen!
My steps establish thou through thy promise, and suffer not any wrong to have dominion over me.
134 Erlöse mich von der Bedrückung durch Menschen, so will ich deine Befehle befolgen!
Deliver me from the oppression of man, and I will observe thy precepts.
135 Laß dein Angesicht leuchten über deinen Knecht und lehre mich deine Satzungen!
Let thy face shine upon thy servant, and teach me thy statutes.
136 Tränenströme fließen aus meinen Augen, weil man dein Gesetz nicht befolgt.
Streams of water have run down my eyes; because they had not observed thy law.
137 HERR, du bist gerecht, und deine Verordnungen sind richtig!
TZADDE. Righteous art thou, O Lord, and upright are thy decrees.
138 Du hast deine Zeugnisse gerecht und sehr treu abgefaßt.
Thou hast commanded thy testimonies, as righteous and faithful exceedingly.
139 Mein Eifer hat mich verzehrt, weil meine Feinde deine Worte vergessen haben.
My zeal destroyeth me; because my assailants have forgotten thy words.
140 Deine Rede ist wohlgeläutert, und dein Knecht hat sie lieb.
Thy promise is greatly refined, and thy servant loveth it.
141 Ich bin gering und verachtet; deine Befehle habe ich nicht vergessen.
I am little and despised: yet thy precepts have I not forgotten.
142 Deine Gerechtigkeit ist auf ewig gerecht, und dein Gesetz ist Wahrheit.
Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.
143 Angst und Not haben mich betroffen; aber deine Befehle sind meine Lust.
Distress and trouble have overtaken me: [yet] are thy commandments my delights.
144 Deine Zeugnisse sind auf ewig gerecht; unterweise mich, so werde ich leben!
Righteous are thy testimonies for everlasting: give me understanding, that I may live.
145 Ich rufe von ganzem Herzen: HERR, erhöre mich; deine Satzungen will ich befolgen!
KOPH. I have called with all my heart: answer me, O Lord: thy statutes will I keep.
146 Ich rufe zu dir; errette mich, so will ich deine Zeugnisse bewahren!
I have called on thee, save me, and I will observe thy testimonies.
147 Vor der Morgendämmerung komme ich und schreie; ich harre auf dein Wort.
I come before thee in the dawn of morning, and cry: for thy word do I wait.
148 Meine Augen kommen den Nachtwachen zuvor, daß ich über deine Reden nachdenke.
My eyes are awake before the night-watches, that I may meditate in thy saying.
149 Höre meine Stimme nach deiner Gnade, o HERR, erquicke mich nach deinem Recht!
Hear my voice according to thy kindness: O Lord, according to thy decree do thou grant me life.

They that pursue mischievous devices draw nigh: from thy law are they far.

Near art thou, O Lord; and all thy commandments are the truth.
152 Längst weiß ich aus deinen Zeugnissen, daß du sie auf ewig gegründet hast.
Of old already I knew of thy testimonies; because for eternity hast thou founded them.
153 Siehe mein Elend an und errette mich; denn ich habe deines Gesetzes nicht vergessen!
RESH. Look on my affliction, and release me; for thy law have I not forgotten.
154 Führe meine Sache und erlöse mich; erquicke mich durch dein Wort!
Plead my cause, and deliver me: according to thy promise do thou revive me.
155 Das Heil ist fern von den Gottlosen; denn sie fragen nicht nach deinen Satzungen.
Far from the wicked is salvation; because thy statutes have they not sought for.
156 Deine Barmherzigkeit ist groß, o HERR; erquicke mich nach deinen Verordnungen!
Thy mercies are abundant, O Lord; according to thy decrees do thou revive me.
157 Meiner Verfolger und Widersacher sind viele; dennoch habe ich mich nicht von deinen Zeugnissen abgewandt.
Many are my persecutors and my assailants: yet from thy testimonies do I not turn away.
158 Wenn ich die Abtrünnigen ansehe, so ekelt mir, weil sie dein Wort nicht beachten.
I beheld the treacherous, and felt disgust; because they observed not thy saying.
159 Siehe, ich liebe deine Befehle; o HERR, erquicke mich nach deiner Gnade!
Behold that I love thy precepts: O Lord, according to thy kindness do thou revive me.
160 Die Summe deines Wortes ist Wahrheit, und alle Verordnungen deiner Gerechtigkeit bleiben ewig.
The summit of thy word is truth: and the whole of thy righteous judgment endureth for ever.
161 Fürsten verfolgen mich ohne Ursache; aber vor deinem Wort fürchtet sich mein Herz.
SHIN. Princes have persecuted me without a cause; but of thy word standeth my heart in dread.
162 Ich freue mich über dein Wort wie einer, der große Beute findet.
I am rejoiced over thy promise, as one that findeth great spoil.
163 Ich hasse Lügen und habe Greuel daran; aber dein Gesetz habe ich lieb.
Falsehood I hate and abhor: but thy law do I love.
164 Ich lobe dich des Tages siebenmal wegen der Ordnungen deiner Gerechtigkeit.
Seven times in the day do I praise thee because of thy righteous decrees.
165 Großen Frieden haben, die dein Gesetz lieben, und nichts bringt sie zu Fall.
Abundant peace have they who love thy law; and thee is nothing that causeth them to stumble.
166 Ich warte auf dein Heil, o HERR, und erfülle deine Befehle.
I have hoped for thy salvation, O Lord, and thy commandments have I fulfilled.
167 Meine Seele bewahrt deine Zeugnisse und liebt sie sehr.
My soul hath observed thy testimonies, and I love them exceedingly.
168 Ich habe deine Befehle und deine Zeugnisse bewahrt; denn alle meine Wege sind vor dir.
I have observed thy precepts and thy testimonies; because all my ways are before thee.
169 HERR, laß mein Schreien vor dich kommen; unterweise mich nach deinem Wort!
TAV. Let my entreaty come near before thee, O Lord: according to thy word grant me understanding.
170 Laß mein Flehen vor dich kommen; errette mich nach deiner Verheißung!
Let my supplication come before thee: according to thy promise do thou deliver me.
171 Meine Lippen sollen überfließen von Lob, wenn du mich deine Satzungen lehrst.
My lips shall utter praise; because thou wilt teach me thy statutes.
172 Meine Zunge soll deine Rede singen; denn alle deine Gebote sind gerecht.
My tongue shall speak loudly of thy promise; for all thy commandments are righteous.
173 Deine Hand komme mir zu Hilfe; denn ich habe deine Befehle erwählt.
Let thy hand be [ready] to help me; for thy precepts have I chosen.
174 Ich habe Verlangen nach deinem Heil, o HERR, und dein Gesetz ist meine Lust.
I have longed for thy salvation, O Lord; and thy law is my delights.
175 Meine Seele soll leben und dich loben, und deine Verordnungen seien meine Hilfe!
Let my soul live, and it shall praise thee: and let thy decrees help me.
176 Ich bin verirrt wie ein verlorenes Schaf; suche deinen Knecht! Denn deine Gebote habe ich nicht vergessen!
I have gone erringly astray like a lost sheep: seek thy servant; for thy commandments have I not forgotten.
