< Psalm 116 >

1 Das ist mir lieb, daß der HERR meine Stimme und mein Flehen hört;
I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voyce and my prayers.
2 daß er sein Ohr zu mir geneigt; darum will ich mein Leben lang ihn anrufen.
For he hath inclined his eare vnto me, whe I did call vpon him in my dayes.
3 Als mich des Todes Bande umfingen, und Ängste der Unterwelt mich trafen und ich nur Not und Jammer fand, (Sheol h7585)
When the snares of death copassed me, and the griefes of the graue caught me: when I founde trouble and sorowe. (Sheol h7585)
4 da rief ich an den Namen des HERRN: «O HERR, errette meine Seele!»
Then I called vpon the Name of the Lord, saying, I beseech thee, O Lord, deliuer my soule.
5 Der HERR ist gnädig und gerecht, und unser Gott ist voll Erbarmen.
The Lord is mercifull and righteous, and our God is full of compassion.
6 Der HERR behütet die Einfältigen; ich war ganz elend, aber er half mir.
The Lord preserueth the simple: I was in miserie and he saued me.
7 Kehre wieder, meine Seele, zu deiner Ruhe; denn der HERR hat dir wohlgetan!
Returne vnto thy rest, O my soule: for the Lord hath bene beneficiall vnto thee,
8 Denn du hast meine Seele vom Tode errettet, mein Auge von den Tränen, meinen Fuß vom Fall.
Because thou hast deliuered my soule from death, mine eyes from teares, and my feete from falling.
9 Ich werde wandeln vor dem HERRN im Lande der Lebendigen.
I shall walke before the Lord in the lande of the liuing.
10 Ich glaubte, was ich sagte; ich war sehr gebeugt.
I beleeued, therefore did I speake: for I was sore troubled.
11 Ich sprach in meinem Zagen: «Alle Menschen sind Lügner!»
I said in my feare, All men are lyers.
12 Wie soll ich dem HERRN vergelten alle seine Wohltaten an mir?
What shall I render vnto the Lord for all his benefites toward me?
13 Den Kelch des Heils will ich nehmen und den Namen des HERRN anrufen;
I will take the cup of saluation, and call vpon the Name of the Lord.
14 meine Gelübde will ich dem HERRN bezahlen vor all seinem Volk.
I will pay my vowes vnto the Lord, euen nowe in the presence of all his people.
15 Teuer ist in den Augen des HERRN der Tod seiner Frommen.
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his Saintes.
16 Wohlan HERR, weil ich dein Knecht bin, deiner Magd Sohn, und du meine Bande gelöst hast,
Beholde, Lord: for I am thy seruant, I am thy seruant, and the sonne of thine handmaide: thou hast broken my bondes.
17 so will ich dir Dankopfer darbringen und den Namen des HERRN anrufen;
I will offer to thee a sacrifice of prayse, and will call vpon the Name of the Lord.
18 meine Gelübde will ich dem HERRN bezahlen vor all seinem Volk,
I will pay my vowes vnto the Lord, euen nowe in the presence of all his people,
19 in den Vorhöfen des Hauses des HERRN, in dir, Jerusalem, Hallelujah!
In the courtes of ye Lords house, euen in the middes of thee, O Ierusalem. Praise ye the Lord.
