Psalm 112

1 Hallelujah! Wohl dem, der den HERRN fürchtet, der große Lust hat an seinen Geboten!

Praise Yahweh! (Happy are/He is pleased with) those who revere him, those who happily obey his commands.

2 Des Same wird gewaltig sein auf Erden; das Geschlecht der Redlichen wird gesegnet sein.

Their children will prosper in their land; and their descendants will be blessed [by God].

3 Reichtum und Fülle ist in seinem Hause, und seine Gerechtigkeit besteht ewiglich.

Their families [MTY] will be very wealthy [DOU], and [the results of] their righteous deeds will endure forever.

4 Den Redlichen geht ein Licht auf in der Finsternis, gnädig, barmherzig und gerecht.

Godly/Righteous people are [like] lights [SIM] that shine in the darkness on those who are kind, merciful and righteous.

5 Wohl dem Manne, der barmherzig ist und leiht; er wird sein Recht behaupten im Gericht;

Things [will] go well for those who generously lend money to others and who conduct their businesses honestly.

6 denn er wird ewiglich nicht wanken; des Gerechten wird ewiglich gedacht.

Righteous people will not be overwhelmed/worried/distressed [because of their troubles], and they will never be forgotten [by other people].

7 Vor bösem Gerücht fürchtet er sich nicht; sein Herz vertraut fest auf den HERRN.

They are not afraid of [receiving] bad news; they confidently/completely trust in Yahweh.

8 Sein Herz ist getrost, er fürchtet sich nicht, bis er seine Lust an seinen Feinden sieht.

They are confident and not afraid, because they know that they will see [God defeat] their enemies.

9 Er hat ausgestreut, er hat den Armen gegeben; seine Gerechtigkeit besteht ewiglich, sein Horn wird emporragen in Ehren.

They give things generously to poor/needy [people]; [the results of] their kind deeds will endure forever, and they [will] be exalted and honored.

10 Der Gottlose wird es sehen und sich ärgern; er wird mit den Zähnen knirschen und vergehen; der Gottlosen Wunsch bleibt unerfüllt.

Wicked people see those things and are angry; they gnash their teeth [angrily], but they [will] disappear [and die]. The [wicked] things that they want to do [will] never happen.
